About Futures Recovery Healthcare

Futures Recovery Healthcare is a luxury rehab on a breathtaking, nine-acre gated campus in Tequesta, Florida. They provide a continuum of care for adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. With proven and holistic approaches, they offer a supportive environment to reach sobriety.

What stands out most to me are their impressive accommodations and amenities. They put your comfort at the forefront so you can focus solely on healing. You’ll have access to spacious, upscale suites with your own bedroom and bathroom. Their campus also includes a pool, library, gym, physical therapy center, cafeteria and recreational facilities. You’ll have the ideal space to step away from distractions and get to the root of your addiction.

Another great element I noticed is they have specialized programs. You can access tailored interventions for veterans and first responders, trauma survivors and chronic pain. Their multifaceted team understands that targeted approaches can produce the most positive outcomes in treatment. You’ll benefit from comprehensive and integrated care to sustain recovery.

I cannot stress enough that Orenda is not equipped to handle mental health. Unless you want to see the extent and depths of how bad your mental health can go, have your meds be changed daily (and even be rushed to the ER for a negative reaction to the quick changes causing mini seizures), be assessed every day with tests and never get answers, have a therapist berate you and make faces at what you have to say, and get a massage in between it all then you know what, this could be it for you. Not me. Not anyone I actually care about.

Took me off my detox meds cold turkey, started getting horrible withdrawal symptoms after that, i had a seizure and was seeing spots, the nurse took my blood pressure and then did nothing. after 2 days off detox/sharps protection and i still can't get my clothes, makeup, and art supplies back. the nurses will say anything to just make you shut up. the intake people will say anything just to get you to hand over money. don't be fooled by the pretty environment; when i asked for help multiple times, i was told "well look into it" and then nothing happens. when you are irritable due to detox, the nurses treat you like a criminal and make snarky comments. and the responses to the bad review replies were AI generated, you can see they're ALL the same. do better.

Accepted Insurance

Futures Recovery Healthcare works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

insurance iconInsurance accepted

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is a structured way of helping those with major mental illnesses and/or substance abuse by bringing services directly to the patient in home. Instead of hospitalization or an outpatient program, staff members like social workers, psychiatrists, and counselors come directly to the patient’s house for treatment. ACT is used primarily for those with severe and persistent mental illness like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, some of whom also contend with substance abuse. ACT can be short- or long-term (months to years), and provides the same multidisciplinary, 24/7 staffing of a psychiatric unit, but in the comfort of the patient's own home and/or community.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Exercise therapy (also known as active rehabilitation) consists of a regimen of physical activities prescribed by a physiotherapist to help a patient recover from conditions that impact movement and quality of life. Physical therapy exercise is used to address both common and more complex injuries and conditions. It focuses on moving the body and its different parts to relieve symptoms, improve mobility and levels of fitness. This includes gait training, neuro re‐education and customized therapeutic exercises designed to improve agility, balance, coordination, flexibility, range of motion, strength and muscle endurance and performance-specific activity.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I really enjoyed Futures. I met alot of really nice people there and made some good friends and not so good friends. I had a bit of a problem with another person there I did report it to several of the staff and it wasn't until others in the program saw how bad it was and they reported it to that something was done about it but she did have to leave. I enjoyed all my counselors, Dr's, nurses, RA's, everyone who worked at Futures except my personal Therspist. She was awful and would talk to a family member and they would tell her things that were not true and she would believe them and yell at me about it and ask me why I didn't tell her? Because it's not true! She would tell me if I accomplished this, that and the other she would let me have special privileges or get me something I wanted and I did everything she asked and she never followed thru. She wasn't even supposed to be talking to my relative about certain stuff and she was she broke the patient / therapist confidentiality clause/rule whatever. I couldn't stand her honestly and could have done without her. Otherwise it was an amazing place. I highly recommend it.

This place is amazing. Treatment is uncomfortable and restricted in nature but Futures gives everyone their own private Bedroom and Bathroom with a common living space between 2 roommates as well as options to have a single living space. Additionally arrangements to have access to phones and computers can be done before hand with admissions as well as afterwards for exceptions with therapists. The property and amenities are beautiful and the ancillary upgrades to recreational therapy and massage and acupuncture are on site too. It has been the best 57 days of healing and support I ve ever experienced. Their Alumni program for former patients helps continue your sober support community every Thursday night.

TL;DR: I got to Futures thinking I would breeze through in two weeks, go through the motions, then go home and forget it ever happened. I spent my first few days acting this way until I realized just how poor my mental health was. I turned around my attitude and left Futures glowing, with lifelong friends that I can call at any time of the day for support. I have continued to join the weekly mental health alumni calls. They are so important to me that I have adjusted my life around making them. Futures is truly life changing. Guaranteed that I would not be alive today if I had not attended Futures. One note: If you are reading this and feel like you need immediate help please dial 911, go to an emergency room, or call 988. There are people at all of these locations that can help you in your immediate situation and assist you with getting help.I was at Futures in April and May 2024 in the residential mental health (MH) program. This place is without a doubt life changing. I don't use that term lightly. When I entered Futures my life was hanging from a thread due to severe depression and suicidal ideation. Life could not have gotten any worse for me. Luckily my wife loved me enough to force me to go to Futures. It took a few days for me to accept my situation and decide to give it a try. I gave it my all and 5 weeks later I left a totally different person. The individual therapy clinicians were excellent. Alexis, Cecile, Emily, and Natalie (in alphabetical order so as to not pick a favorite) were sensitive to your needs and treated you as an individual person instead of just a number/patient. They were truly invested in your recovery. They tailored your program and therapy to what you needed for success, not a formula that was standard for everyone. The group therapy clinicians and peer specialists were just as great as the individual therapy clinicians. Dan "Dan Dan the family man", David "the other guy", Dika, Ryan, Sarah (with the avocado tattoo), and others were top notch. The group therapy was set up for you to recover and learn not only from the professional staff but also from your fellow patients. There is a spectacular group dedicated to your continued recovery when you leave. Alisha, Craig, Darby, John, and LaQuisha were great. Futures helped you set up your next steps in your recovery before you left so you knew what was next and didn't have to struggle to determine what was next when you left. The Alumni crew follows up with you on a regular basis and is there for your continued recovery. The tech staff and nursing staff were there for your success as well. The techs were your 24/7 contact in the facility since the clinical staff worked 7 days a week but only about 0800-1800. My favorite techs by far were Allissa, David, Drew (Andrew), Hailey, Louis, Rachel J, Rachel L, and Riley. All the techs were great but some of them were greater than others. Stephanie in the medical office was especially warm and helpful. She went out of her way to help me be successful on my last day there. The MH program facility was set up for your success. Was it Four Seasons nice? No. But it was a nice place. Was the food worthy of a James Beard award? No. But it was good food and made it so you could focus on recovery. Were some of the rules a bit annoying at first? Yes. But they were made to allow you to focus on recovery. In summary, Futures was 100% set up for your success. The entire staff was caring, warm, friendly, and tailored to your recovery. I have made many lifelong friends both in the facility and those I have met on the weekly alumni calls. Do I want to go back? No. Going back would mean I have relapsed in my recovery. Would I go back if I ever need to go back? In a heartbeat. If Futures made a weeklong program for alumni to return and get a "tune-up" I'd be the first one to sign up.If you are reading this please remember this: You Matter. You are Enough. There are people in the world that care about you and your recovery. You just need to let them help.

**A Life-Saving Experience at Future s Recovery Healthcare: A Grateful Testimony by Bradley Weiss**My journey at Future s Recovery Healthcare was nothing short of miraculous. From the moment I walked through their doors, I felt a profound sense of hope and renewal. This incredible place not only saved my life but also transformed it in ways I could never have imagined.I arrived at Future s grappling with the overwhelming weight of excessive benzodiazepine and barbiturate use, as well as OUD (Opioid Use Disorder). The path ahead seemed daunting, especially the detox process, which I knew would be the hardest part of my recovery. However, the compassionate and skilled staff at Future s made this journey as bearable as possible. The first week of detox was a true test of endurance, yet their unwavering support and dedication kept me going. They worked tirelessly to ensure my comfort during this critical phase, and for that, I am eternally grateful. As the initial week of detox passed, a remarkable transformation began to unfold. I found myself slowly emerging from the haze of addiction, ready to embrace the new opportunities that lay ahead. It was during this time that I started to meet the extraordinary individuals who would become some of my closest friends and confidants. The fellow patients at Future s Recovery Healthcare were not just addicts struggling with their own battles; they were amazing people with incredible stories of resilience and strength. The bonds we formed during my 90-day stay are unbreakable, and I cherish these friendships deeply. The staff at Future s Recovery Healthcare are truly exceptional. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism are beyond compare. They went above and beyond to ensure that each of us felt valued, supported, and understood. Their expertise in addiction recovery is matched only by their genuine care for every patient who walks through their doors. They not only guided me through the darkest moments of my life but also celebrated my successes and milestones with heartfelt joy.Future s Recovery Healthcare is more than just a treatment center; it is a beacon of hope for those lost in the depths of addiction. The comprehensive and holistic approach they employ addresses not only the physical aspects of addiction but also the emotional, psychological, and spiritual dimensions. This well-rounded care is what sets Future s apart and makes it a true sanctuary for recovery.Today, I am living proof of the life-changing impact of Future s Recovery Healthcare. They gave me the tools and support I needed to reclaim my life and build a future filled with promise and potential. Trying to think of enough to say that could convey how amazing Futures is but I just can't... I was discharged on 4/28 with a psychiatrist appointment for 5/24 and only sent home with 2 days worth of meds plus a 10 day prescription. They re insisting they gave me enough and I must have lost some even though the bottle literally says quantity: 10. Nobody will call me back. The medical department at this place is unethical and unprofessional.

This place like many others doesn't truly care about people. They care about money first, money in the middle and money last. After you agree to pay huge amounts of money will they care and assist.I called for information and to see about getting help.My insurance had no coverage and I would be a direct pay.So Derek promised some assistance and to help me find a facility that can work with my insurance and he abandoned me.No return callsno return textsNothing. So if you need help remember this facility abandons people in need.
