For For close to 13 years, I was a client of Odyssey and Emergence. In the beginning of that time, I experienced some of the best counseling and mentorship ever.Jeanne Gillard was the most amazing teacher i have ever had. Jeanne was compassionate, knowledgeable, experienced, thoughtful, and honoring. She had gone through many life trials, challenges, and victories of her own.She was a person our group could truly trust. She was incredible at celebrating our victories and encouraging us to push forward when we fell short. She had a wealth of knowledge and presented it with heart each week.Jeanne Gillard, Joe Beal, Zana, Michelle, and other DBT teachers were incredible!DBT with Zana and others, along with Art Therapy with Joe, and Grief and loss weekends with Jeanne Gillard, sparked some of the best healing I've ever experienced.Emergence and Odyssey between 2010 and 2019 especially with Jeanne was pristine.Like an organic apple with no worms. Then something toxic entered, like pesticides, gmo's, or food irradiation.Slowly the best counselors and DBT teachers departed. But we still had Jeanne!!I was still blessed with my counselor Joe.. but this year Emergence and Odyssey completely lost its soul and backbone..In my opinion.I called in several times for support after we lost Jeanne and Joe and was never offered solutions or an alternative support group or counselor.Through Jeanne's support group and counseling, I overcame a 9-10 year gambling addiction. I had 5 years and 9 months' success, not gambling..I always knew I could call and reach her.. even after hours she could be found on the gambling help hotline.I also completed a peer support specialist class under her leadership.I imagined following in her footsteps.Jeanne was probably eligible for retirement, but our group wanted and needed her and couldn't imagine ever finding anyone as great as she was.If she ever retired from Emergence, it should have been the biggest party and celebration ever, in her honor!!Emergence and Odyssey should have a statue and plaque honoring Jeanne and her legacy!!She should go down in history with great honors and a huge bonus and a deluxe retirement plan..But this plague and poison that entered Emergence and Odyssey caused this Organic, pristine and fruitful apple tree to become a toxic, worm infested, bruised and inedible cancerous mush.I am appalled by the dishonoring that Jeanne experienced in leaving Emergence. The lack of support for her clients upon her departure was also incredibly hurtful.I was so traumatized and lost without Jeanne's support, knowing I wouldn't reach her on the helpline, knowing I couldn't attend her support group, losing my great counselor Joe, too.Seeing great people dishonored.. added to the grief and loss and trials of my life.Via Joe's counsel I was victorious in reaching my goals for health and wellness beyond gambling abstinence.I lost 92 pounds last year..down from 250!But then I lost him and Jeanne. I got stuck in a place I couldn't get out of with an abusive addict, fatalities occurred, loved ones died, cancer scares, and other tragedy entered my life and I no longer had the support at Emergence and Odyssey. On July 26th 2023 I gambled again. Just months short of my 6 year anniversary of abstinence.I gained back 40 lbs.To admit this publicly is not easy..But here I am, awake at 4am knowing I need to cry out against this injustice and what feels like a crime.Jeanne should never be allowed to exit Emergence without the greatest of honors.A governors banquet in celebration of her contributions.. a visit to the Whitehouse.Future models of treatment designed around her incredible examples!!The injustice in her departure contributed to my disillusionment and fall.It is incredibly disheartening to see what has happened at Emergence and Odyssey! There may be many casualties in its wake.

Accepted Insurance

Emergence works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Oregon offers a full continuum of care for those struggling with addiction. From detox, to inpatient, to outpatient, to aftercare, Oregon residents can find the support they need for recovery. This treatment empowers individuals to replace drug use with positive alternatives and develop a healthier lifestyle.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Oregon is a short term talk therapy method used to treat mental and behavioral disorders. Based on client needs, the therapist may recommend five to 20 sessions. Typically, this form of therapy requires fewer sessions than many other types of treatment.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Viewed as a method of communication rather than an intervention, motivational interviewing is an evidence based approach to rehab treatment in Oregon. The principles of this method have a common sense appeal and are readily applied to many therapeutic programs. Core strategies include acceptance, listening, and summarizing.

I can't believe they are even allowed to operate. Donna Smith has the most unprofessional work ethics I've ever seen and to try to over charge me 3 times I will not use them again for D.u.i or anything.

Emergence Programs and counselors save lives. Jeanne Gilliard is their gambling addiction counselor. I've been seeing Jeanne for a long time. A better counselor you won't find. She's dedicated, genuine, and knowledgeable. Her work ethic is amazing. She works hard counseling people in the throes of gambling addiction. Jeanne runs groups and she goes above and beyond in every thing she does. She's organized and pays attention to detail. Jeanne is the best counselor I've ever known. She's highly thought of by all her clients. Because of Jeanne I haven't gambled in almost five years. If you are having a problem with gambling reach out. You won't be sorry.

I currently attend the threshold program as a self referall. Needless to say i wanted a lifestyle change to better myself. I've been working extremely hard at staying sober and abstinent from mind altering chemicals. I was given a ua by my counsler 2/15/19 specifically for kratom. The lab results came back with 2500 NANOGRAMS OF THE ACTIVE CHEMICAL. Which is an extremely fatal and high concentration level for the drug. I told my counsler that's impossible, there is absolutely no way! She told me scientifically the only way it could get there is i either dosed myself or someone else did. Needless to say i have no reason to hide or lie about my use due to being a self referal and have no connection with the courts. I WANT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR THOSE WHO ARE MANDATED BY COURTS OR HAVE SOMETHING TO LOSE SUCH AS FREEDOM, CUSTODY OF A CHILD, OR DRIVERS LICENSE. there is a shelf life of the drug only lasting about 5 days which is the loop hole they are using. OHP IS A CASH COW FOR THIS COMPANY, ITS GARANTEED MONEY. I KNOW SEVERAL OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD TO STAY LONGER IN THIS CLASS DUE TO CRAZY ANOMALY. BEWARE!!! GO TO WILLAMETTE FAMILY IF YOU CAN!!

What can I say? It should come as no surprise that, in my search for a local, top shelf treatment program- I would find a facility such as this one!I had an ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE AND EASY-GOING EXPERIENCE. Getting me started in the right program, working around my busy schedule and communicating all of my progress (on my behalf) with my P.O.- are just a few of the positive things that made my experience with Emergence, Top Shelf .****Connie was so very helpful in giving me all the information that I needed to feel confident that I made the right choice in my search for a treatment program that fits my needs and my busy schedule. Special thanks to her, for making my experience SUPER POSITIVE! (Keep up the good/hard work- you re changing lives!)

I've been going to Odyssey for two years and it saved my life. I highly recommend Odyssey for DBT counseling. With a great staff that really cares about you, Odyssey is a safe-space that is inviting and inclusive. I finish DBT soon and will continue to meet with my therapist.
