as someone who was sent here before I wouldn t recommend sending your family here. You are put in a room all day with a bunch of other unstable girls, watching Disney plus for hours. group therapy and therapy daily were fine but we were not allowed outside due to the rain and I felt that it did not help my mental being in a plain room with just Disney plus, crayons if you are lucky , and girls being angry and sad. We were able to go outside one day for an hour and I felt that was the biggest relief getting fresh air finally. I was there on a 72 hour hold and during those hours I had no contact with any of my family. They have a list of names so you can have phone time for 5 mins and they go down it , but everyday I was not allowed to the first day they said they didn t have enough time for me and I was like okay with it so I waited the next day to not be able to either, and when I asked about it they said to wait my turn but other girls had already gone twice while I hadn t at all. There was an incident where a girl was holding the phone for longer than 5 minutes and got yelled at , so she proceeded to try and break the telephone . We were no longer allowed to go on the phone for the rest of the day. Thankfully one of the nicest nurses let me sneak into it and call my parents for 3 minutes. The showers were awful it felt like being sprayed with a hose hurt so bad to shower in, and you get a soap for your body and hair. You would not sleep in here either they would check in every 15 minutes and it would wake you up every single time not to mention hearing the girls crying or screaming , I felt more drained being in there than the time I was in the actual hospital. You are fed junk food majority of the time until you are cleared to go to the cafeteria and have normal food with some type of fruit or vegetables.

Hi, Johnny. We are so glad to hear this! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We hope you are doing well. Take care!

Accepted Insurance

Canyon Ridge Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Substances can prevent the absorption of nutrients and cause damage to your body's systems. Nutrition therapy in California addresses the deficiencies in vitamins and minerals that are caused by substance abuse.

Recreational therapy is included in alcohol and drug addiction treatment to focus on engaging you in healthy activities that reduce your cravings and improve your overall health and well being. When you participate in group sports, art, or nature walks, you develop new interests and find a meaningful way to spend your time and reduce your cravings.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

As a patient there that went in with so much anxiety and severe depression, I can say that I would've rather went to a circus, where at least I knew the people actually noticed me.The staff were so incredibly rude and unprofessional. I only stayed there for four days and it felt like four days in hell. There's no difference between a prison and this place. They don't care if you're tired. They don't care if you need something. I had to wait till the third day I was there to be able to cut my nails because I would use them to hurt myself.Shower time was ridiculous. I would go into my room (which was shared) and in the boys section and took a shower, then got yelled at because I wasn't supposed to be in the boys section. Even though I was placed there and we have no choice of where we get put. Then the same woman who yelled at me gave some poor excuse as to why she yelled at me. If you're dealing with minors who already hate themselves and are trying to heal, yelling at them is incredibly unprofessional and even dangerous. This place doesn't even deserve any stars. The only 'good' thing about this place was the food, but even then we had to get approved to be able to go to the cafeteria. If you weren't allowed to go, then you had food in the common area. But when we wanted seconds, we either had to wait or we didn't get our seconds at all. What if one of us had an eating disorder and a nurse had told us that we couldn't have anymore food? What if one of us had food anxiety from a poor upbringing? Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.Don't even get me started on when you don't feel good. I was nearly passing out from an anxiety attack, and all they did was sit me in a chair and told me to calm down. Anyone who has had an anxiety attack or panic attack knows that you can't simply just 'calm down'. And if you got tired throughout the day, you had to get a written note saying that you could take a nap during the day. This sounds simple right? Wrong. The doctor is rude and snotty. Getting a written note saying you could be able to nap during the day was about as rare as finding a needle in a haystack. Then they got mad at you whenever you fell asleep during group meetings or activities. And apparently bullying is tolerated here. There was one specific person who would bully everyone and just got a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again. I guess harassment and bullying is accepted with open arms. Very unprofessional.I honestly hope that someone sues this place. For any reason. For neglect of patients, mistreatment, abuse, and so many other charges. If I ever get the money for a lawyer one day, Canyon Ridge Hospital better hope that I don't come after them and take them to court.Don't EVER go here or send your kids here, unless you want to come out worse than they were before.

I m so grateful I was sent to this facility. The entire staff is extremely helpful, caring, and patient. The average stars does not do it justice. It is truly a 5 star place. The food was great and the routine was helpful for my stabilization and transition to full recovery. Don t hesitate when considering this place for yourself or a loved one if the situation gets to this point, though I urge you to seek help before you get to this point. Thank you so much to the professionals at this facility top to bottom.

I had to wait 2 and a half hours for my wife to be released. I was the first one to show up for patient release. I received no phone call from staff letting me know when to be here. An hour after I arrived staff called me and stated that it would be 30 more minutes. I live an hour and a half away, this has been a large inconvenience. Every day I arrived for visitation they have consistently been 30 minutes late letting people back but right on time for visitation to end. I find this rude and lackadaisical.

I came to Canyon Ridge with severy PTSD, depression, anxiety, and more. I am eternally grateful for my treatment here. They care about their patients and strive to find the best combination of treatments for each individual as everyone has their own needs. I was blessed to be placed in group therapy with Felipe Kaiser! I am forever thankful for his amazing skill to help people open up and be receptive to the treatment. Dr. Lee was also amazing!! Each and every staff member i came across was not only caring and welcoming but made you feel like not only you belong here but you feel to be with family! When participating in a group, you realize you are not alone and make the journey to recovery a whole lot easier, and we all help each other as well! I would definitely recommend Canyon Ridge for any mental health, rehabilitation of any kind, and more! Thank you, Canyon Ridge Family, for everything!!!
