If you can help it, do not come to this office. I had an appointment that I showed up for, after confirming over text that I m attending and receiving this reply: We do not have any appointments to confirm. Please call your physicians office. When I showed up, I was told that there was a phone call and voicemail left at my number, yet I had never received a phone call or a voice message. Regardless of the root cause, a patient should never have to find themselves in my shoes. The other locations have people you can speak with and more easily reach via phone.

The worst! Changed billing procedures without notifying everyone in a household(1 person per household notified!) The I wonder if this is illegal: They changed to a hospital based billing center and failed to notify me. Now I have bills from normal co-pay visits that are over $500. Horrible to treat patients like that. The doctors and staff are very kind and I honestly feel sad that they have to work in a place this unethical.

Baystate Medical Practices – Greenfield Family Medicine works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab offers robust, hands-on care in a highly structured and supportive environment. The facility provides housing, meals, and round-the-clock supervision, allowing clients to focus exclusively on their recovery. Inpatient treatment typically involves intensive addiction counseling based on CBT, DBT, RBT, motivational interviewing, or other psychotherapeutic approaches. Many inpatient treatment centers also offer life skills training and/or complementary therapies, including meditation, mindfulness, and nutrition counseling.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I would say my experience with telephone calls to BMP sucks, but I'm too polite to say that so I will say it was BAD. Please don't give me some condescending response as you have with others. Just FIX their problems with BMP. I will be emailing my experience to you. This bad "communication" happened Thursday and Friday June 13 & 14. I have already found another doctor.

I find it insane when nobody masks in this office staff and patients and across the street at hospital they require that when entering you mask up. There was one doctor that did mask here then said be careful of Covid 19 then the next doctor didnt have one. Thank you.

My review is mostly towards dr urquhart that has an extremely condescending and judgemental attitude. My son is petrified of having a test done and instead of treating him when he has the symptoms of a bacterial infection that she very much reiterated and tried to scare me about, they wont treat him for unless we hold him down and he has the test done. Since she talked this way to me I said fine we will bring him in and then all of a sudden its "ohh well I can't have you bring him in and have someone get hurt" SO you SEE my problem you mean? Im not asking for antibiotics for the fact he was simply exposed but he has the SYMPTOMS, so lets traumatize him so we can confirm what we already know? Real nice. This place has gone down the drain. The doctors are terrible and unreasonable. She judged me for respecting my childs fears about this test and then told me I shouldnt bring him in if he is going to struggle with it and hurt himself or others. Great problem solving lady. Also, he is 9 and has been on antibiotics only one other time in his life. And today my update is similar to everyone else's reviews. My child has signs of an ear infection and is in a lot of pain. Their solution? "You'll hear from us by the end of the day." Nice.

Unfortunately, our visit today made me want to look for a new provider. I brought my 6 month old in for his appt at 8:20. The woman behind the desk didn t arrive for work until 8:30 so i just ended standing in the waiting room with the baby carrier until she signed in. Once admitted, We then waited another 10 minutes in the examination room (thank goodness i brought toys and a bottle), until someone came in to take his measurements and vitals and then left us again for another 10minutes. All in all, my infant and I were either in the waiting room or just waiting in the examination room FOR AN HOUR. This is unacceptable for a 6month old paitent. I then asked for a print out of his visit 3 TIMES and still ended up leaving without it. I was told by the doctor at the end of my visit to set up his 8-9 month appt at the desk but when I went to the desk they told me oh we don t schedule out that far, so clearly the desk and the doctors don t communicate. Everyone in the waiting room seemed to be having similarly frustrating experiences as one woman said to reception, You called me! So why am I here? This practice just seems disorganized, confused, and not paitent friendly. If someone knows of anywhere else taking new patients I would love to know.

This is the 3rd instance I've called the office with an issue, I called 3 times yesterday and again this morning and no call back. I understand that the medical field is highly understaffed and extremely busy but this is unacceptable, all that is needed is a simple antibiotic and no call, no prescription, nothing. My family and I will be moving to another primary care provider as soon as they have an opening because although I understand that everyone is busy, there is no excuse for not returning calls or sending in a simple prescription (non addictive). :(
