Sadly, I can't give zero stars. This my review as for today. I been going there years of years to get my mental health on track. The only one who ever helped me was Mike and he left. He was good therapist and social worker. I asked to be on the list to get a new therapist. They told me 3 months. No contact whatsoever. I still on the waiting list. Couldn't wait that long to find a new therapist and talk about my feelings. After that incident, they have very bad communication and listening skills. They also need to call their patients if their time is changed. Not a damn customer representative called me to tell me my appointment was 12:05. My appointment was at 2:20. Very hard to get through the customer service area while calling them. I had called 4 times and no one has answered the phone to do their jobs correctly. Not one person has helped me there. Please do not go. Find another place to help you out. Because in the end, they wanna shove pills down your throat. Not make you feel any better!!! You will continue on losing your mental health and have mental breakdowns. I have dealt with it. They do not care at all!!! I had walked out and left my appointment. Because me and Doctor Chris almost fist fought through the session. Just like what happened when the lady doctor was there and she left. I had removed myself from this horrible and unprofessional place!!! Not going back!! I'm still gonna continue and thrive on looking for better options!!!

Don t waste your time going here. I ve been to half a dozen places for counseling over the past 25 years and this was the least effective. The counselor was very inflexible when it came to scheduling sessions even though I was working for a temp agency.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients often enter inpatient rehab following detox, but they may also enroll during early recovery or at an increased risk of relapse. Inpatient rehabs provide housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision, allowing clients to focus exclusively on their recovery in a highly structured and supportive environment. Clients typically receive multiple individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions weekly. Many programs also offer extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training. Integrative inpatient rehabs provide holistic therapies as well.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This place is a mess. I first went here when I was 14 years old, but quickly left after a month because the patient confidentiality system was trash. Now, at 20 years old and exhausting all my therapy options in the area, I came back here as a last resort. Big mistake. I was originally supposed to be seen by the worker Kimberly, and was told that I would be set up for an appointment with her in a few days, but after TWO WEEKS of silence, i was forced to choose the worker Roxanne Blake, because she was the only one available. She seemed nice at my first session, but it quickly soured after that. As another person in the reviews stated, all she does is talk about herself. She doesn t listen, and she only asks questions to get argumentative. She also forgets previous sessions and never remembers what we discussed in our last meeting. My last straw with her was when she didn t listen to me explain MY feelings about a topic only I would have info on, and instead chose to talk over me and get stern with me. After that incident, I asked for another therapist and of course, after a week, nobody has gotten back to me about that. I m honestly done with this place. Instead of helping me mentally, they have brought me stress. Ridiculous. With the staff here, you d be better off talking to a wall.

I am really upset on the lack of communication from this facility. My mother has been a patient for the last 25 years. Her therapist left sometime in 2022 and the only reason we were advised was because I called the facility requesting refills for my mother's medications. I was told that once a new therapist was hired, they would contact me to set up an appointment - I NEVER RECEIVED THAT CALL. I found out on 7/10/23 that has case was closed and once again NO NOTIFICATION. This is so unprofessional. My mother needs her medication and I am not getting any assistance from the facility. Even the Director has not returned my calls. If I could find a new center, I would definitely get her transferred. Any new patient thinking about using this facility, I would think twice.A VERY UPSET DAUGTHER

My daughter has been going for a couple of weeks now and the last couple of weeks her therapist Roxanna who was out for her session and then with Memorial Day they were closed decided to give her spot away. Very unprofessional of Bayonne Mental health to have someone do this to a child. It s bad enough she wasn t helping my daughter because everytime she was seen by her she made the sessions about herself.

It s been almost 1 year since I turned to this place, and they haven t contacted me at all. I feel bad for people who have to wait for them to call or notify in some way so they can come and get the help they need to only waste their time, when they can go somewhere where they will actually get help. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would.

Horrible horrible horrible. It takes about for weeks of numerous calls for someone to finally answer. No one knows what's going on in that place. One person will transfer you to another person for them to tell you that you were miss formed than transfered to another person. Horrible. I only left one star because I can't leave just the tip of the star.
