The experience was very good. Unable to access tele-appointments from my cell phone (SAMSUNG) which made it slightly difficult. The provider was very good and short to the point, which I liked.Sometimes difficult to understand provider with thick accent and computer connection, but they were very understanding.Perfect for my needs.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Maryland emphasizes your current life rather than what has happened in the past. Your therapist will help you develop methods to deal with current and future challenges so you can cope in healthy ways that don't involve substances.

During dialectical behavior therapy sessions, you'll review the challenges you faced the previous week and the feelings you experienced during those times. You and your therapist will engage in problem solving, discussing how you can handle those situations in the future for a better outcome. This involves keeping a diary throughout the week to track your emotions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

When you participate in couples therapy, you learn how to understand each other better, improve your communication skills, resolve conflict, and improve relationship satisfaction. Your therapist will help you develop skills in each of these areas to strengthen your relationship.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

The goal of creative arts therapy is to help you express complicated emotions or work through difficult situations. This happens through self expressive activities such as dance, drama, music, or art. The treatment provides a safe setting to process emotions and understand yourself better.

Disappointed with Treatment TerminationI am the parent of a patient who received treatment at Balance point wellness. My daughter had been undergoing treatment.Unfortunately, our experience took a turn for the worse when they abruptly stopped my daughter's treatment. This sudden decision was made without a clear explanation or proper transition plan, leaving us in a very difficult position.I have the primary custody and in our court order we have, it is a must that My daughter should have a therapist. And also the order mentions Medical Visits. Neither party shall obtain medical treatment for our daughter absent advance written consent of the other party, except for routine physical examinations/check-ups, examinations required for school or extracurricular activity admittance/registration, regular dental check-ups or cleanings, therapy appointments as referenced elsewhere herein, and emergencies requiring urgent care. It is really clear that for Therapist no one can have objection. My ex husband is abusive and he doesn't want to send our daughter to a therapist because he would be in trouble if they figure out about his behaviors but since he had objection, this office stopped treatment while they had the order. The impact on my daughter has been significant. She has experienced increased [stress/anxiety] due to the unexpected discontinuation of care. As a parent, I feel that this office did not consider the well-being of the patient or provide the necessary support during this critical time. While we were initially satisfied with the treatment provided, the way in which it was terminated was unprofessional and detrimental to my daughter's health. I hope that the clinic take this feedback seriously and work towards improving their patient care and communication practices. They just keep asking me I should provide them a new order. It seems they don't have a professional lawyer advice.

I've been with BPW for a little over 3 years and I love the therapist I've been with, The best psychotherapist Ms. Bushra. She's very attentive and I feel she can break down a lot of complicated concepts very easily. She's a great treasure to me and for the mental health field.

I have had an excellent experience with Balance Point Wellness. Booking was far easier than other practices I have worked with, and they were able to match me with an outstanding provider who could not be a better fit.
