Drug Rehab Centers in Gaithersburg, Maryland

I have been coming here off and on since 2002. I was last here about a year or two ago. In the unit I was in, you can have an hour of electronics. They have pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc. After the first 24 hours of being on the unit, you can go to the cafeteria. One psychiatrist that I had only prescribed an anti-anxiety medication instead of trying a different treatment. One nurse wouldn't let me go for breakfast if I didn't shower first. That was the only downside of my experience, but we were able to go outside as long as there was enough staff. I like showering at night in order to "wind down. " If you are there for more than a few days, I recommend you bring a warm blanket and your own pillow from home. They lock the rooms during the day so it will not be stolen at least not that I have ever experienced. The only thing I really dislike is that they push you to attend their religious group. I am Jewish and don't hold their beliefs. I think they should have a choice of a different group or activity during that group/time. The unit was clean, they have updated the adult units. At least the ones I have been in, a lot nicer than 2002. More freedom than before. Most doctors and social workers have a good bedside manner. Nurses, most are okay. Techs are alright.

The therapy I received in this center really helped me make positive changes in my lifestyle, I thank each of the staff members for having supported me at every moment. Contemporary Family Services is a great place to receive help, they have a great heart.

The staff is excellent and is caring. The gentleman who checks you in is quick and polite. The head nurse and counselors genuinely care about your recovery and are always there to talk about your needs/concerns.The director is very helpful and handles things in a professional manner. In fact everybody is very personable and friendly. This place saved my life and I am very grateful for everyone at MRS.

I loved it here ! This was my second time going to a rehab and this place taught me so much I was able to complete it and I ve been clean and sober for a year and 2 months!! My husband is going to be attending here pretty soon once he sets it up ! Best place ever!

I've been to alot of recovery programs and centers but Avery road is by far the best,it's Clean the food is excellent and they cram recovery down your throat.

I have really enjoyed my stay here at MD-WAR.It has helped me in many ways.The counselors and staff are really good at MD-WAR.The compaction and understanding is un-matched by any other program that i have ever been in or even heard about!!! I would recommend MD-WAR, to any and all people that I new was trying to get them selves together. And gladly share my experiences with them about MD-WAR. And for me that's saying a lot.Its only because of my stay here at MD-WAR that I am able to open up to and with others..I just hope that the next people that comes threw MD-WAR will allow MD-WAR to do for them what it has done for me.........

Yes people complain a lot but try going outside the system. I have had nothing but wonderful service at all the military facilities. I was very sick and if it weren't for WR I would not be here. I would think for what you pay for medical care in the military system you would be a lot more thankful. Think of people that don't have this and have to pay a lot and some people cannot even afford medical care. Stop whining and be thankful.
