medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

24-hour icon24 Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Fitness Therapy

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

life-skills iconLife Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

I really urge you to read this if you want to send your son or loved one here for their recovery.ESPECIALLY if you are a person of color, LGBT+, or have any kind of disability. Here are some incidents that took place within my loved ones stay that I find worth sharing due to the arm and leg these people charge.-Manny (a staff member) facilitates outings called"Hot laps" where the boys drive around a college campus and watch girls tan and work out. This was complained about to the owner and he said"Boys will be boys". What a harmful and dated rhetoric as well as harmful to recovery.-Cade (another staff member) told my loved one that "all women cheat" and other vulgar ways of expressing to not expect to be in his relationship of many years because of this reason specifically. He got in trouble for saying this, but it leaves me questioning how qualified the staff is due to their impulsive and immature nature.- Staff and white residents constantly drop slurs and derogatory language towards women, children and honestly anything they find entertaining. This was only taken seriously when a person of color finally became so uncomfortable they reported it."Boys will be boys" doesn't apply here due to potential discriminatory lawsuits I would think.Don't even get me started on what they spend their funding, YOUR money, on...Overall this place is a train-wreck ran by a bunch of just strange younger men. Most of the staff has 0 QUALIFICATIONS other than completing the program themselves. Maybe some people prefer that, but I personally don't believe completing something successfully makes you a professional or let alone even qualified to be helping someone. These people made me firm in that belief based on their behavior. If you're going to charge people who are at a low point and desperate to turn their life around 50-100k for this^ | really wonder if you're in this business to help anyone at all.

I went through the year-long program offered by b2b and I have to say it changed my life. I have been to more rehabs than I can count on one hand, none of which offered anything like what I received from Back2Basics. Most of the staff were once clients themselves and could relate to us on a very personal level. The rigorous schedule, routine AA meetings, as well as the outdoor trips every weekend were challenging, but overall changed my outlook by making me both physically and spiritually fit. The therapists are well trained and very helpful in one-on-one and group sessions, and helped me tremendously. The sense of community I gained from this program is what inspired me to move my whole life out to Flagstaff.

Back 2 Basics and the support of my family saved my life. I think the extended length program and the time outdoors alongside the heavy weekly programming was the only way for a person like me to get out of the life I was living. I love everyone involved from staff to my fellows who went through the program with me!

Trying to navigate the difficulty of finding a good fit for my son, I landed on this program because of its unique offerings. The owner Roy was simply wonderful, and so patient and informative to my multitude of newbie questions. The communication and response time was excellent. Roy was key in recommending interventionist Billy Gregg, who was key to what we thought would about a 5% chance that our son would go to treatment. Well guess what?! He is in treatment 3 days after the intervention. Although we ended up going with another treatment center (only because our son is a little older than this programs age range) Roy has still kept in touch, cheered for my sons sobriety journey, and even suggested parent and family programs for us. I have been quite impressed with his authenticity and real passion to get our youth and early adults on a sober and mentally healthy path. Thank you Roy for all you have done for my family and Philip. I have tears of relief and hope as I write this. Wishing you continued success with this unique program you have developed!

Working with the B2B staff made it really easy for our family to participate in our loved ones successful recovery. From day one Roy answered all our questions and gave us clear options for the family to consider. What drew us to B2B was the outdoor part-it was important for us to find a safe space that didn t feel like a cold hospital environment. It was encouraging for us to see how our loved one was working on the steps towards sobriety while also connecting with land. The program itself was well developed involving different phases that also helped build life skills major plus for our family. The B2B staff was always responsive and went above and beyond to keep our family informed. We would recommend B2B to any family who wants a modern approach to healthy living.

I was a client in 2021 and was able to get back on my feet thanks to this program. I have been able to stay sober and live a healthy lifestyle thanks to the skills and experience I got during my time at Back 2 Basics. The transition program was a great resource and gave me the tools I needed to start living a sober lifestyle and having the accountability and safety of a sober living environment. Personally I would recommend this Back 2 Basics to any of my friends or family that struggle with addiction.

I became a client for Back 2 Basics in November of 2021. I spent a total of 10 Months in program and have been able to sustain 18 months of Sobriety so far. The program was a great fit for me as they offered Trauma Therapy as well as Phycotherapy and I was able to successfully work through the 12 steps in AA. The Outdoor Program provided both Physical and Mental Health benefits for myself as wells as those around me. The best thing about Flagstaff is the central location to so many amazing places to be explored in which Back 2 Basics utilizes to keep the adventures fun and diverse. The combination of help in all of these 4 key recovery aspects help to dig down deep and help you to identify yourdeepest addiction drivers. And to highlight another aspect, the meals provided are Amazing!! After spending time in program, it worked so well that I decided I wanted to continue to be a part of the program and became an employee in September of 2022. I will forever be greatful for the blessings and opportunities given at Back 2 Basics.
