The 2 star rating in no way reflects my opinion of the message of hope that recovery programs convey. There were several bright spots. Scott and Dan, the 2 primary facilitators, were living, walking examples of hope on a daily basis. In spite of the chaos they endure daily, they were able to demonstrate patience and tolerance consistently day after day. Novak and Rebecca also displayed nothing but tolerance and professionalism on a daily basis. Thank you Wayne and Jaz and the few clients I met that gave me hope. The simple truth is this! The organization is poorly managed. I repeat, the organization IS POORLY MANAGED. Technicians are too few for too many. The female you speak with when you initally inquire will answer your questions dishonestly. Beware of any facility that does not vet the clients prior to admission. The patient to non patient ratio is sadly left wanton. This being magnified by the patient's that are enrolled not for recovery purposes but for free lodging and food. The environment is similar to a "homeless encampment" or prison than a recovery center. 40 to 50 year old patient's with grade school life skills and mentality. Rampant drug and alcohol use in housing, unchecked. That was my experience. I spent time at 2 of the 3 male residences and they are both absolutely FILTHY and infested with cockroaches. I was told that the residences were professionally cleaned every 3 weeks, which is totally untrue. I was also told all 3 male residences were totally remodeled within the last 90 days. Also untrue. I was told by the female "recruiter" that they limit the number of occupants in the men's residences to 7. Sadly, another lie. 16 men, 2 bathrooms, appliances that do not work, sinks that do not drain, bunk beds, and disgusting interiors of the transportation vans all were contributing factors to my discomfort. I was also told there are weekly recreation nights. Movies, dinners out, and beach trips . Yep, you guessed it another lie. This is definitely not a luxury rehab. The facility occupies two suites in a strip mall that appears to have been built in the late seventies or early 80s. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ON THE WEBSITE as it pertains to the facilities. And definitely do not believe anything the female recruiter tells you. During the day there are approximately 60 to 70 patients crammed into 2 suites of a strip mall and only 2 bathrooms and 2 facilitators. If you are serious about recovery, Look elsewhere!

Terrible. Terrible staff with no regard for their patients feelings and theirs patients’ families. How do you call yourselves a treatment facility, but deny patients who back track in their journey (which they should know might happen) but then also don’t help the patients they deny find a new place to help them. They are rude and condescending on the phone when speaking to the family. Beware if you have a family member go here, they might find themselves on the side of the street in Florida with no guidance on how to get better. Terrible.

Accepted Insurance

The Luminous Care works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

i honestly wish a facility like this didnt exist as someone who, at the time of writing this, is in it. one of the first problems you will run into here is not receiving medication. one client who is epileptic didn’t get their medication for their epilepsy for at least 3 days, resulting in them having 2 seizures, at least that is what they told me. the lack of communication between staff and clients its actually apalling. most times two members of staff on the same shift won’t even have the same information for you for the same exact question. one of the worst cases of this is their system, or lack thereof, for passes. one day passes aren’t permitted during group hours at all, but numerous people are out on pass during group when you were just told that you can’t. then the next day someone is being punished for the pass they were allowed to go on by being told to attend night classes for missing morning group, but then the next day no one in the morning group can attend night group unless they’re working. one day you have to turn your pass in the day before you intend to leave, the next it has to be the day of and you’re gaslighted into believing you weren’t getting them submitted the day before for weeks. then multiple people who got jobs get demoted to iop and “discharged” aka kicked out within a week and have nowhere to go. sometimes your counselor forgets to put in your pass and then revokes them to cover their own ass! happened to me! their cups used to test clients repeatedly provide incorrect results, but you will be punished regardless. but the worst part of this program has to be the snobby, disrespectful, unprofessional, nasty clinical director. he’s amongst the shockingly high number of staff who aren’t in recovery and have merely studied it. whoever his higher up is allows him and his staff to cultivate a culture of gossiping about clients. i’ve been called a liar and an unhappy person both by dr. b in front of multiple other clients, due to false information spread by his staff, and i had the audacity to be upset that nothing was done to fix the situation. not getting my passes back, excusing his counselor not putting my pass in, and even going as far as to quote some uncited study that marijuana only lasts in your urine for a week… and incase you’re like me and despise ai, dr. b is perfectly fine with his counselors and doctors using chat gpt in front of clients to fill out our charts or to even give us a response back on what we just said. ontop of the toxic and dysfunctional environment, the place is also crawling with predators. my third day here i was given a tech’s phone number telling me to “keep it between us.” thank god i was wise and secure enough to report it, but who knows how many other clients were not like me in that regard. they charged a client’s insurance twice, use names of doctors who don’t work there on their paperwork, and the mentality there is to have each others backs against any complaints or concerns from clients, even when their wrongdoing is clear as day. this is just what i’ve been made aware of and what has happened to me. i sincerely beg anyone who considers this facility, or any other facilities that would refer their clients here, STAY AWAY!! DON’T GIVE THIS PLACE ANYMORE MONEY! my heart aches to think of all the people that will come through their doors and have to suffer through this program. there are countless other treatment centers in broward county and in south florida, save yourself the headache and go ANYWHERE else.

If you or someone you love, needs help keep them as far away from this facility as humanly possible! I was a client here last month, and it was the worst experience of my life! No organization, The staff is nasty to the clients, And I felt extremely unsafe! Thank God, I was able to get out of that facility and into somewhere safe. And majority of the clients just get discharged and have nowhere to go with no choice, but to get back into treatment! DONOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!
