Place is okay, the counselors are as helpful as they can be. Counseling requirements are ridiculous though. I'm only required to be in person at the clinic twice a month for less than 10 minutes at a time but somehow also I need almost 4 hours of counseling a month? If I was in that need of that much counseling, why would I be given take home doses in the first place? Of course if you don't do your counseling they take away your take home doses. First though, they make you sit in the clinic for 3 hours (you aren't allowed to leave for any reason or the 3 hours timer starts over) and wait for a counselor to have a session with you before they will even dose you. My counselor didn't call me one day and the clinic said it doesn't matter if it's my counselors fault, that they still might take my take homes away if it happened again. I've been sober for over 10 years, when I asked for less counseling I was told no, that Aegis doesn't allow it. They care way more about milking every penny they can from medi-cal over actually listening to patients.

Accepted Insurance

Aegis Treatment Centers Wilmington works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

While in rehab treatment, you may work on developing various life skills to help you in long term recovery. These may include resilience, interpersonal skills, and self awareness. The focus will be on developing healthy habits for self care and relationships so you have the skills you need to manage day to day life.

The clinic was a great place for recovery, when. Blanca was there , (not Blanca Valerio) but the other Blanca that transfered to Inglewood. Unfortunately the clinic at Aegis lost one of the greatest nurses, and has become a place that negatively impacts your recovery process. My husband has been in recovery about 3 years with Aegis now, and lately it has been a battle with his takehomes. These concierges in the am shift hold reprisals against patients, and always threaten with withholding your dosage because people actually have a life and work, kids, things that happen in life that these ppl don't take into consideration. They don't care if they interfere with your personal life, interferes with your job, it's their way or the highway. Always being suspicious of everyone, they are still stuck in running this program as if it was prison, or an institution. That sort of mentality and backwards thinking is not what recovery is about. The concierges think that Aegis policy supercedes the law. Things need to change.

Dosing Nurse Karen was extremely rude and wouldn't tell me the amount of medication she was giving me. She had a horrible attitude.

I've been a "client" here forever... Or so it seems. I would recommend this clinic over any other I know. The people here care whether or not you do well, they honestly try their best to make you better. All of course depends upon you, but everybody needs help, and here, you'll get it./NOTE; There has been a recent lapse in the competent scheduling of dosing nurses.New years day, 2024, no nurse showed up at opening, and the one employee was left to fend off the frustrated clients.(at least two clients actually called a connection from inside the clinic, and then left to get dope, because they knew no methadone was forthcoming. This needs to be addressed so that nobody is left hanging. Not the clients nor the employees! It's a problem that could be easily fixed, with a little care and attention.I pray never to go through the same thing again.

So glad I found this place best decision I ever made way better than Baart Program they made me feel at ease no Shame I'm so blessed keep up the good work Aegis definitely saved my life as of yesterday11-14-23 I was kicked out the program due to missing days due to my chronic pain and my recent emergency surgery I just had and now I have. No where to go can't dose can't get pain management due to referral problems so now I'm in pain and going through withdrawal from me being on pain medication due to my surgery and have 6 weeks to recover I don't blame Dr. Harris he is wonderful just wish they could have went at it a different way instead of leaving me helpless

This is by far the best clinic I have been to. The staff is amazing and the facility is super clean. The process took about an hour and a half on a walk in right before closing but they didn't turn me away. The doctor here actually wants to help and is very kind and has a wealth of knowledge. Not a single staff member here acts like they are better than anyone, and make it clear that they are here to work for you, not the other way around. It's worth the 29 minute drive to come here.

Response from the owner1 year ago
Thank you so much for the kind words, we absolutely love to hear this and to know you're having a good experience with us. This is why we come to work every day .

The staff there are not really here to help people it s like a power trip they re really really you go for a courtesy dose you ve been driving for an hour you get there 5:59 and the girl is closing the door saying no we already turned off the system you can t get dosed. just a reminder this is a courtesy dose so it s not like you go there every day it s once in a blue moon when you have an emergency you have to go to that clinic for certain reasons why you couldn t go to your regular clinic and it s a distance way long distance from where you live from where you work and things happened traffic accidents and for knowing that you got there before 6 o clock and a woman hurrying up trying to win you so you can t go in the clinic rushing as you re talking locking up the doors telling you no.
