If you want to live in hell with liquid handcuffs come here. The withdrawl from methadone lasts for months. Go to actual treatment/rehab. I went to rehab and got the VIVITROL shot. A real maintanance drug that has no opiates. Dont allow this place to run your life, dont get your drugs from a drug dealer in a lab coat. Never again. Dont forget to mention they never alerted me until the last day when my insurance stopped paying and they told me i can drive an hour everyday to paso robles, what a joke. Do yourself the favor and never come here or any other clinic!

Sadly this clinic needs to be shut down. Or overseen by patient advocacy groups. This place is strictly about profiting and not about helping patience. Best way to show this is to explain the medical fraud they have been committing since the 10 years I have been going there. When a cash pay patient becomes a medical patient, the patient is required to pay monthly until medical kicks in. When medical approves you they pay 3 months worth of back pay to any clinic you might be going to. For the time you paid while waiting to be approved. After they pay ages the 3 months of back pay they have 6 months to reimburse the patient or send the money back to medical. Which is never happened for me and every patient I have ever talked to about this. So this means any patient that was a cash pay patient that went on to medical is owed the 3 months of payments they paid to the clinic while waiting to be approved for medical. I have been trying to get this taken care of with ages for over 5 years. I am submitted multiple documents requesting this money and never have I received any feedback or information regarding my request. Any cash pay patient that went on to medical and was never reimbursed the three months payments was defrauded by aegis. Aegis treatment centers has kicked patients out of the program that they owe this money to and also any person who has left the clinic they stole this money from any person still going to the clinic they stole this money from. I can only imagine the millions and millions of dollars they have gained due to this fraud. Sadly because of the patients going there are so badly stigmatized nothing is ever done about about it. They take advantage of the fact that the person is vulnerable and in a state of helplessness to profit. They are truly evil. They will punish you for mistakes they make and then when you complain about it they will gladly kick you out of the program and that's what they use to and hold over everyone's head to make sure their profits never go away.

The most unprofessional of every clinic I have ever been to. The staff do not care about your sobriety. They only care about your money. Jennifer is a counselor there and refused to counsel me because she was upset that I was angry about the fact that I was given a hold due to a mistake on their part. And because of her personal feelings about it, she declined to counsel me causing me to get a hold and miss work. Anytime you call with a legitimate complaint about something that they are doing wrong, they will tell you theres nothing they can do. Basically everything is your fault, even when it's 100% their fault and you will have to pay for their mistakes. So I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone. If you can make it to the clinic in Atascadero or San Luis Obispo, then I highly recommend you do so. Otherwise you better be able to follow every rule, and also be ready to make up for the shortcomings that the Santa Maria clinic frequently has. Because they Will not accept responsibility for anything regardless of being at fault or not. And they're just rude. It's really sad to see a "professional" medical facility being ran this way. And I sympathize with all the current patients there who are being mistreated on a daily basis.

Accepted Insurance

Aegis Treatment Centers | Santa Maria works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support a client's sustained sobriety as they exit detox or step down from an inpatient program. IOPs are also designed for clients who are at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in a minimum of nine hours of therapy per week, but clients may receive up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP treatment modalities often combine psychotherapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an intensive form of outpatient treatment where clients meet during the day and return home in the evening. PHP treatment doesn't require 24-hour care and often serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or a step-down after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you can receive daily support for 6 to 8 hours which includes evidence-based therapies and medication management. The cost of PHP treatment typically varies but averages 90 days.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

New blonde nurse is very rude and judgmental. She was unprofessional and did not represent aegis well at all. She definitely was not there just to help me, she was short with me and seemed annoyed the whole time. Please replace her!

Careful if you enter because you might never leave. The Doctor has a personality like a block of wood and will try and keep patients at the clinic as long as possible while punishing patients for mistakes made by the clinic(false positives and such) with no intentions of trying to fix their self made mistakes. Almost impossible to get in and out before work even with a workers pass. The staff is great but sadly the doctor has most of the power here. If you need help With a drug addiction or just like being on huge doses than this place is great for you but the longer you stay the harder it becomes to maintain. At the end of the day it s just like any other business which cares about money and less about people. Aegis can do a lot of good but sometimes it can cause a lot of damage to your way of life. After a while that helping hand felt like a foot on my back.

I hate giving bad reviews espywhen im still attending the clinic but the staff and patient care is the worst I have ever experienced. Thier other locations might be a little bit better but at the Santa Maria location I feel discriminated against with the staff especially with Ariana. They constantly make me late for work, didn t approve my workers pass even though I m eligible, put me on hold with no warning at all for a doctors visit I missed a month back and are just constantly playing games. In 2years I have been through almost 10 counselors because they can t keep any of them and most of the time thiers only one window open to dose and most of the time it s at least 35min wait and they are very very strict and unforgiving on take homes.
