About Woodhaven Residential Treatment Center

Woodhaven Residential Treatment Center offers inpatient addiction treatment for adults in Dayton, Ohio. Their residential program specializes in detox and withdrawal management, but it also includes case management where applicable, crisis intervention services and secure sober housing. If you need a different level of care, Woodhaven also offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP, an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and a regular outpatient program.

The program lasts for as long as you need and ends when you’re medically cleared from withdrawal management. After you’ve been in the program for 30 days, your family and loved ones are allowed to visit you during designated visiting hours.

During your stay at Woodhaven, you’ll partake in individual and group therapy sessions. Individual therapy sessions allow you to work through personal issues contributing to substance misuse, develop healthy coping mechanisms and build habits and thought patterns which support long term sobriety. Group therapy sessions create a supportive and understanding environment where you can share your experience with others going through a similar journey. Woodhaven runs different types of group sessions, including skill building groups, psychoeducational groups and process groups. Each type of meeting focuses on a different aspect of addiction and sobriety, giving you a well rounded healing experience.

For many people facing addiction, staying sober is just as challenging as getting sober in the first place. To help you prevent relapse, Woodhaven offers Vivitrol injections. Vivitrol works by blocking the effects of illicit substances and reducing cravings. This makes it easier to stay in recovery comfortably. They also provide extensive aftercare planning services to ensure you continue to feel supported and stable after your treatment ends.

Not a bad place some of the staff really do care but others are there for a pay check on another note they lose clients personal belongings and act like it's not a big deal when some people don't have a lot to begin with and when asked to be reimbursed nothing happens and I get a run around like I have been it's sad that they are there to help people and show them a new way of living but when stuff like that happens you lose faith and trust in places and people my belongings has been missing for two weeks to long and I'm to the point of going higher up if the issue isn't resolved soon but overall the counselors are there for you the staff on the other hand I can't speak for all but you can tell who cares and wants you to succeed and you can see who is there for a pay check the first time I was there it was so welcoming and laid back and you felt the love and positive energy but this time I didn't feel that except from the clients there and I feel like the clients could run it better than half the workers there now

This place is horrible! Do NOT send your family here! If you want your loved one to come out of there alive then don't send them. They do watch their clients and now my husband is dead.

Accepted Insurance

Woodhaven Residential Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for clients who need frequent, high-level care but do not require, or choose to forgo, inpatient treatment. Most intensive outpatient rehabs offer a minimum of nine hours of treatment weekly, though clients may receive up to 20 hours of care as needed. These programs typically combine various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services help family members prepare for a drug intervention in Ohio. During an intervention, family members typically read letters they have prepared that explain how the individual's substance abuse has affected their lives and relationships. Each family member also explains what they will do if the individual does not agree to get treatment. An intervention specialist offers support to guide this discussion and makes appropriate treatment recommendations.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Designed for individuals with moderate to severe addictions, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides a more intensive form of outpatient therapy. PHP treatment can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option after being discharged from a hospital or residential program. A partial hospitalization program typically requires a minimum of 20 hours weekly for an average of 90 days. Depending on your care plan, PHPs can include relapse prevention, medication management, and behavioral therapy services.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Woodhaven has no more than 12 clients in any group which helps with fostering a feeling of closeness within the group. During groups, clients will work on exploring how alcohol and other drug problems have impacted all major areas of their lives, including their relationships with others. An examination of alternative solutions to drug and alcohol use will be discussed during relapse prevention groups. Some groups will be educational with the use of evidence based curriculum and others will be process groups where emotions and thought provoking conversations are used to assist clients turn their thoughts to recovery based ideas.

Each week that a client is at Woodhaven they will receive one-on-one, hour long counseling sessions with their counselor. During this time, clients are able to discuss life problems that have led them to this point in their lives and to receive guidance in addressing them.

This place does not care about people. My bf entered the detox for alcohol program voluntarily on Friday, was suppose to be for 30 days, on Monday they called and said he was not responding to them and had incontinence so they wouldn't be able to help him if he had these issues. They transported him to the hospital without notifying me, hospital calls me in the middle of the night to come get him because the facility would not pick him up. I picked him up, hospital papers say he was seen for accidental overdose. He was given Valium for 3 days and was so out of it, he could not walk. I tried to get him into Nova House, but they do not do detox for alcohol, so I had to take him to Kettering hospital where they are helping him now. On top of that, the prescription drugs he had were not given back to him, and I had to call 3x before the head of the place found them. I do not believe this place cares about the people who put their trust into them. I would not recommend for anyone.

I have been to oodhaven twice and both my experiences were good. Yes there were times when I didn't like or agree with the rules or their advice but I followed it because doing sobriety my way never works out. They helped me overcome a horrible toxic relationship that was also keeping in active addiction. They taught me coping skills and discipline. Ms. Linda helped every girl a robe and slippers. Olivia my counselor was truly caring and always available. AddiThe peer supporter was wonderful about taking us to a safe outside meetings and rallys. Some of the people who have posted negative reviews were kicked out for behavior such as stealing because I recognize the name of at leasted one reviewer and she was caught stealing so I'm sure that's why she left a bad review. But if you are looking for counselors and real treatment Woodhaven is the place to go.

By far the worst treatment center I've been to and I've been to a lot. First of all it has more of a psychiatric ward environment then a rehab. They tappered patients with suboxone way longer then I've ever seen and to top it off jail food would be more edible. And also I've never seen a rehab that literally had commissary day like jail.... every other place I've been has snacks and drinks at your avaliablity 24/7 but here you have to order commissary in order to have that and you can't get dropoffs you have to buy there 10 dollar packs of cigarett3s off commissary once again. I was literally beside myself when I got all the way there from Akron. There running a cheap rehab that's a money pit for whoever owns it. One thing I will say is that my counselor was awesome.
