7/29/2024- This place is still nothing more than a 3 ring circus. No help from anyone, no one answers, so leave a message. You can't find an extension or an email address for anyone there to get a hold of a living breathing person! Just leave a message, we might call you back, we might not. Don't waste your time or money on this place. There are better options in Parkersburg or Belpre.I just wish I could get someone to return my phone call. The message says not to leave multiple messages, but you cannot get the doctors offices to call you back. This hasn't just happened once, it's been multiple times! Helping patients is your business, it's why you are still in business. It is not beneath you to return a phone call! I am very disappointed!

Accepted Insurance

Westbrook Health Services works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients in addiction recovery often transition from inpatient rehab to intensive outpatient programs (IOP) to promote their successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. These programs provide high-level support for clients in early recovery and those at an increased relapse risk, offering between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week on average. Intensive outpatient treatment typically involves a range of therapeutic approaches, including psychotherapy, recovery education, holistic treatments, such as acupuncture, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and/or opioid dependency.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs receive ongoing peer support while cultivating recovery-focused life skills. They engage in frequent, sometimes daily, 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, peer-led, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors offer one-on-one mentoring throughout the recovery journey. This model invokes spiritual principles to encourage self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance in persons pursuing recovery. Specialized formatting is common, including programs for teens, seniors, and family members.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients who are leaving detox or intensive inpatient care often transition into a rehab aftercare program. Outpatient treatment is among the most common rehab aftercare services, but clients often continue to receive support long after being discharged from formal treatment. Clients' long-term care plans are highly individualized and designed to evolve with the clients' changing needs. Case managers and care teams typically work with the client to design their unique care strategy.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Motivational interviewing in West Virginia is often used when the client's desire to change is low, their confidence is low, or they are struggling with mixed feelings about change. This technique allows them to explore the change process and feel empowered to move forward.

Would not recommend this place. My Two children have been off their medications for almost a month and a half because of their incompetence. They will try to cover their own tracks by lying. Got a call from them saying that the kids meds were filled and went to the pharmacy to pick them up and sure enough, they were NOT filled due to their lying and incompetence, then I had to call there again and the Nurse tried to cover her own lying tracks by calling the pharmacy back and sending through what the pharmacy needed to fill them in the first place!! LIAR-BROOK is what I call them now!!

I use to go to Westbrook health services for years. I attended there cft program also as well as received counseling. The cft department was satisfactory for a while but the director of the cft dept was not keeping anything I had spoken about another individual I was having issues with confidential. She, the director, had been breaking my trust for years right under my nose and I didn't learn this until it was way too late. I also attended the poker game days that we had and that was lots of fun. We didn't gamble, just had fun. The individual running the poker table was amazing and he was very professional in all that I saw and heard from him. My counselor was nice as well. I was briefly in there residential program and the individual over there 36th st group home was not professional in the slightest. When I was suicidal as I was often, she refused to allow me to call 911 or go to the hospital. She ruled with an iron fist and was threaten to kick me out if I were to call 911 on my own behalf. She said I could go to the crisis unit but I had been a few times in the past and it had done no good and I didn't feel safe in the crisis unit because it was not a locked facility. Years later I tried to report her to Westbrook and they said it was too late after they did their so called internal investigation. She also didn't allow other individuals to go to the hospital either. She needs removed from authority. The crisis team at Westbrook was very helpful. I spoke with a few crisis workers from time to time but I mainly worked with one and I found her to be very understanding. So all in all so e staff are amazing at Westbrook but some are not worth the pay they give them. I am doing my best to not name anyone specific but if you are reading this and you remember me, then I'm sure you know who you are rather seen in a positive light or not. Be very cautious when you go to this place because you just never know who you can trust

Pathetic excuse for a rehab. They hold clients to different standards, are petty about the rules. I was discharged recently and haven't looked back. I was kicked out over some very minimal issues. Id like to see Jeremy Caplinger and Nate the director and caseworker respectively, fired along with Amanda Davis the one above the whole SUD division. The were icy cold to me.

Great place to get the help I needed . Only complaint I have is that since I went here now it's on record ans aig life insurance declined to insure me because It was on record that I attended Westbrook health. I was there for anger issues trying to get my act together . Now it has caused me a huge problem now I can't set my kids up with money when I die someday by having a huge life insurance policy . Only reason I went was for anger Therapy . Now my family will have to pay the price one day when I'm gone because I couldn't get life insurance to keep them going till the rest of their lives . I regret getting help just because now I can't be sold life insurance anywhere . And no I'm not and never was suicidal so they can't say that is the reason. They said just the fact that I went to Westbrook for mental health issues now I'm now black flagged for life from insurance. I pray that the ones who made these rules and decisions has something like this happen to them or a relative where they can't get life insurance. God bless these horrible people in our country who make these types of rules .

We had a bad experience there today. Since you guys won't listen to me directly so I'll just blast it here. We don't have a car at the moment and our "workers" knew this fact. We told them we needed a ride and for 2 weeks we have missed our appointments. Then today again same thing, but I can't go another week without my meds. So they offered a $40 gas gift card. We talked his dad into taking us on the basis of the offer. But when we got there, go figure, they didn't have any and acted like we didn't deserve it. Even though they are well informed of our current situation. And they won't help us find a place. We need help and this place allegedly helps those in these situations. Well hello Westbrook! We need help! I know how all of you are about returning phone calls, NOT WELL, so maybe someone could respond to this!

I have a severe mental illness and my life has been a struggle and this is the 1st time that I've ever had a psych doctor really care about my mental health. I've moved a lot and I've had to constantly switch doctors so this a big relief to me.

I started going to Westbrook almost two years ago now and I think the business as a whole is run well. My therapist, Rachel, has helped me a lot, and I can't imagine where I'd be without her.
