I was at Victory Bay for 4 months in the mental health housing program. During that time, I experienced violent behavior from clients who needed higher levels of care, threats from other clients, dirty bathrooms, bed bugs, roaches, spiders, unhinged staff, and other crazy experiences, just in housing. I stayed in the Waterview House. The program itself involves over a month of just DBT and other ancillary programs everyday Monday through Friday. The program itself isn t particularly bad if you are looking for a DBT program. They give you homework and teach you skills for how to deal with distressing moments. The only real qualm I have with this is that they will challenge your defiance for if you don t do homework with, Was it a mindfulness, skill, or willfulness issue? even if it was just an issue of housing having an issue themselves. They will challenge you to answer even if you do not agree with it being your fault at all.My greatest problem with Victory Bay came when they transferred me. I had a bigger issue with an ED and was referred to an outside program. It took a week to send me there. But within that time, the case manager, Justin Coyle, who handled all issues with case management in mental health housing at Victory Bay, stopped responding to me through all forms of communication.Unluckily for me, Justin was the person who was tasked with keeping up with my work leave and renewing it on time. Well, I didn t know until 12/4/24, that on the day that I left (11/22/24), my paperwork was due for renewal on 11/22/24. Again, he knew about this for over a week, and was supposed to renew it before I left. I ended up sending in the paperwork late, because I found out, late(11/28/24), which resulted in my termination from my job, and my total loss of insurance. Thanks, Justin.Chyna, the housing supervisor, made a lot of promises to me before I even left there, one being that when I left there, if anything went wrong with my insurance or if something else went wrong, that I could return, no questions asked. Obviously, this did not occur.Since this happened, I m not one to jump on and immediately leave a bad review but I have tried numerous times to contact Victory Bay as a whole, i.e. supervisors, client experience, staff phones, case management, etc, and no one has picked up, I m assuming because they saw my phone number. I also tried to email a supervisor and text the case manager only to no avail. So, in summation:Pros: Good DBT Program, some good staff (Lead Tech: Amanda, and regular BHT Jay)Cons: Housing Supervisor (Chyna Saunders-Dennis), Dirty Bathrooms, poor management of client behaviors, bed bugs, roaches, spiders, threats from other clients (that they never did anything about), unhinged staff, poor case management (Justin Coyle), bad overall communication from the program
