I have been a patient for 3-4 different therapists here. the first was pretty focused on her eastern beliefs and spent about as much time talking as I did. the second and third were inexperienced and still getting their footing. I recently tried to schedule an appointment with the fourth, but due to missing the intake appointment they decided to cancel all the appointments I had booked out. This happened even though I had called the receptionist the morning of to reschedule the intake and ask if they could fit me in any opening sooner. I waited 2 weeks without receiving a call, went in this morning and got told the appointments were canceled despite my request.Sub-par for my expectations. It's nice that they hire Licensed Professional Councelors in training, but the only good experiences i have had here have been of my own making. I reccomend trying another place.

Accepted Insurance

Vantage Point Clinic and Assessment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If you are planning a drug intervention in Wisconsin, many rehab facilities offer professional intervention services to assist you. Having the expert insight of a trained intervention specialist can improve your chances of success when helping you plan and facilitate the intervention. This third-party involvement can provide the impartiality necessary for a productive conversation and appropriate guidance for next steps.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

You have a lot of group programs where you can choose from at a reasonable price, along with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that will guide you. I explored the depths of my subconscious and realized so many things with them

I went here about 9 months ago after a mental health crisis. I was struggling at the time with the terminal illness of my then (now deceased) wife. I literally picked the place off a list at the hospital and they could get me in. After playing a game with which doctor was most suited to me and changing provider and appointment a couple of time. I arrived early and checked in. I have to say for a place that should be about connection and healing , that was not what I felt as I walked in. I felt like inconvenience. So I sat and waited . 20 minutes past my appointment time, some rando passes by , apparently my therapist and realizes what s going on and hurriedly gets down to what feels like a 1982 over stuffed disorganized rumpus room. Ewwww. It s like, don t they know that calm environments help calm people? Not professional. Not impressed. So he sits down. Distractedly listened to my concerns and sent me on my way with a hand out and sent me bill for the full hour. I would avoid this place if I were you. It s a mill. A grinder. I have complete comfort in saying this office made no impression on and not a person there made me feel cared about. . But, As long as they can bill it out. I didn t pay. And I m not paying. It went to collections. They can f78k off.

I have had therapy on and off since the age of 5 and have experienced many therapists and psychiatrists. My experience at vantage point wasnt awful in any way but it was highly disorganized and lacks experience. The staff is kind but mostly too young and still "navigating" being a proper counsel. My sessions where always sit down, answer a few questions and silence. It was less interactive than any sessions i have had previously in life.I dont believe that a patient should sit in silence and be waited on to just freely spill their inner thoughts with no feedback or advocacy. Please consider this an issue as most people need a general back in forth in conversation to come to a resolution.I can easily sit at home and talk aloud to myself and be more integrated on a conclusion to help myself.Overall the staff is still kind and pleasant aside from these issues.

If you want to spill your guts to an intern who is about as as fresh as it gets, than this place is for you. I personally would like to have a professional give me life advice but apparently that isn't an option. I felt like I was telling my problems to a random friend and they were just writing stuff down. Not gonna happen again.

I m a combat veteran and get free services from the VA, however I drive all the way from la crosse WI to receive care from vantage point, particularly with Leah Gray. She is by far the best therapist I have ever had & I have had 7 previous therapists! Leah returns calls pretty much within hours of me leaving private voicemails when I leave a message indicating I would like a call back. She is super knowledgeable and caring! All the staff, from the front desk to the billing area have taken care of me & have been too kind! I would definitely recommend Vantage Point to others.Thank you

Very disorganized intake dept. I have left two messages over 3 weeks on scheduling an appointment with a particular therapist and to see if they take my insurance...no call back. The website is nicely laid out and looks promising. When I called back and told the receptionist that I left 2 messages over 3 weeks, she transferred me to a manager and the manager said that particular therapist was not accepting any new patients but will ask her and see if she can squeeze me in, she said she d call me back. it has been two weeks and another no call back. Disappointing and very unprofessional. You put yourself out there as an organization to help people reach better places in their mental health...it seems some people working there do not take it seriously.

We truly apologize for this entire experience. As with many businesses these days, we are finding ourselves short-staffed and this can result -- from time to time -- with experiences like yours. We are working on it and appreciate your feedback, although it's hard to hear. We hope you'll give us another chance if you're still searching for a therapist to work with.

Hello, Mr. Pierce. It would be helpful if you explained what is concerning you about our clinic. If you were to leave at least some details, we would be more able to address your concerns. Feel free to call us at 715-832-5454 to discuss your situation so that we may be of assistance. Otherwise, we won't be able to do much to improve or to understand why you are leaving such a poor rating.
