This place really gave me hope for a sober life. Every single tech was phenomenal. They took great care of us while we were trying to get our minds right. I enjoyed fishing and the classes were great. I felt the spirit of God in this place. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is I think they should hire a janitor to maintain cleanliness cause I don t think having us addicts keep the house clean is a very good idea.

Accepted Insurance

Twin Lakes Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Twin Lakes Recovery Center offers Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services at our outpatient treatment center located in Gainesville. Their outpatient services are designed for individuals 18 and older who have a substance use disorder and may also have co-occurring behavioral health issues.
inpatient iconInpatient
Their inpatient residential treatment services allow those suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders to focus on learning to live life without alcohol or other drugs and to develop the tools needed to navigate life without them. Living on-site at Twin Lakes allows residents to focus on recovery, free from distractions. Residential treatment allows clients to unplug from their usual routines (which are most often unhealthy) and fully engage in the treatment experience with the support of 24/7 clinical staff.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
At Twin Lakes Recovery Center, they help clients build a solid foundation for lasting recovery. Recovery from drugs or alcohol is a lifelong process. Their goal is to provide the tools necessary to navigate the challenging journey of recovery. Their commitment to their clients in this process does not end when treatment ends, they offer continuing care services to all clients. Continuing care also includes access to Twin Lakes aftercare services. This includes consistent check-in calls from their clinical team throughout the first year following treatment. They want to stay connected, hear about continued growth, and help with challenges that may arise. Clients are also invited to participate in Twin Lakes alumni groups and gatherings. These provide incredible opportunities for fun, fellowship, and support in recovery.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Equine therapy, aka equine-assisted therapy (EAT), is a form of experiential therapy that involves interactions and activities with horses. It does not necessarily involve riding horses, but all activities related to horses, such as feeding, grooming, haltering and leading them. A mental health professional frequently oversees the activities (often in conjunction with a horse professional), and helps patients process their thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns during and/or after the interaction.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Addiction is a family illness. When a family member engages in substance abuse, the entire family or support system is thrown into dysfunction. Addicts clearly suffer from the disease, and there are many loved ones who also suffer from the consequences of addiction. At Twin Lakes Recovery Center, they know that family education, support, and involvement in the treatment process leads to better outcomes for our clients. The Family Recovery Program is a 2 day program, held at their residential facility in Monroe, in which loved ones of clients join other families and receive education about the disease of addiction and co-occurring behavioral health disorders.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

For me this was a very positive experience. Evi provided what's called ART thearapy which was very effective. No program is perfect so if you're looking for perfection, you will not find it.Especially when it comes down to the food , but if you're going for treatment and recovery , this is the place to be. Miranda is a gem of gems. Her care incomassion is one that causes you to want to get better and feel that she's sincerely cares about you because she does. Same with Evi. Not leaving anyone out because much of the staff is fantastic. They just stood out to me for me. I would indeed recommend this place for your treatment. And recovery needs and they partner with others for sober , living opportunities and so for so take it and take a hold of your own sobriety and check this place out.

I am 8 months clean and sober thanks to the loving and capable staff at Twin Lakes. I went in so broken, irredeemable, lifeless and feeling defeated. My addiction had such a strong hold over me that I had come to the conclusion it s what I would die from. My family felt helpless and had no clue how to fix me. It wasn t their job, it was mine. The staff at TL loved me until I could love myself again! Which in turn helped me to let my Higher Power back into my heart. I realized that He never left me, I had left him. I had to put myself back together first. You truly have to want recovery from this nasty disease to make this transformation. If you go to Twin Lakes or any other rehab and are not 100% committed to this AMAZING life altering process you won t make it. My heart goes out to my fellow addicts that bash Twin Lakes because it s not their fault, it s yours.

Twin Lakes saved my life. It sounds cliche, but it s true. When I came in, crying and not wanting to live, they welcomed me with understanding love. I met some of the best people there, had an amazing therapist (hi Chris!), and most importantly learned how to love myself again. How to deal with life on life s terms, sober. My experience was better than I could have anticipated. Going to rehab sounded so scary and daunting, the staff and clients and TLRC made it less so. The staff there really care and make it obvious from the moment you walk in. I hope everyone gets the chance to get help, and to get it in a place like here. I know it s scary to get help, but please do if you need it. I promise you, it s worth it on the other side.

My previous IOP center had thrown me out for "medical liability", leaving me in a dire situation. A wonderful woman at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital connected me with Evie, the Clinical Director at Twin Lakes. I was finally welcomed to a safe, comfortable place to continue my recovery. All of the staff was excellent. It was such a relief to finally be heard and treated like a human. I got a lot out of the AA meetings in particular, and enjoyed the group educational sessions with my therapist, Chris. With the serene setting, service opportunities and unplugging from the internet, I was able to focus on myself and handle extremely difficult personal issues. Jason, the Alumni Coordinator has also made it possible to remain connected with the facility, clients and what it has to offer after discharge. I consider him a key part of my recovery, as those of us in recovery tend to feel alone. Thank you, Twin Lakes, for everything!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

It is no exaggeration to say I feel Twin Lakes saved my life. They took me in at what was arguably the lowest point of my life and made it their mission to get me better. Their team is highly experienced - from their program directors to their therapists to their nursing staff to their techs - and do their jobs empathetically and sincerely. At this center you do not feel like another dollar sign, and it shows in their employees. The accommodations met my needs and their programming helped me get to where I am today. I would recommend this center to anyone seeking help for substance abuse without hesitation.

When your In detox-residential we as clients are vulnerable and need our space. I'm a alumni there and still come to show my face and that's where I pick up every chip for sobriety....
