My son just returned from Twelve Oaks after a month , He returned home in a highly agitated state , showing signed off paranoia, and after we drug tested him he showed positive for Cocaine which he said he used while in Twelve Oaks ..Also while he was there we asked numerous times for an update from his counselor both on the phone and via e mail, we have yet to receive a reply..We are truly disgusted with how this facility is managed and plan on taking further action

Accepted Insurance

Twelve Oaks Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients typically choose inpatient rehab when they are in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that puts them at an increased risk of relapse. They reside at the treatment center for the length of their program, which may range from two weeks to more than 18 months, depending on the program design. Intensive psychotherapy is often the primary treatment modality, but clients in inpatient care may also receive holistic treatment and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Twelve Oaks’s IOP rehabilitation treatment programs for substance abuse are designed to provide clients with the rehabilitation treatment, education and support needed to overcome an addiction to drugs or alcohol, while also allowing them to continue to participate fully in their lives. The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program is 8 weeks and the meetings occur on Monday through Friday from 9am-2:30pm. The normal individualized IOP program is 3 days a week. In addition, the IOP gives process groups and a BB study.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Detoxification from alcohol or drugs is the process used by detox rehab centers to help addicted men and women rid their bodies of the substances they have been abusing. Depending up the nature and severity of a person’s substance abuse history, attempting to undergo detoxification for alcohol or drugs without the medical supervision that is available at a detox rehab center can be painful and potentially fatal. Twelve Oaks Recovery believes that suffering unnecessary symptoms of withdrawal hinders the recovery process. At Twelve Oaks their skilled medical team provide a safe and comfortable detoxification from alcohol or drugs using cutting-edge medications and detox protocols.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I wish I could give no stars! I am a family member of a patient the nursing staff in particular Ty Stingland is the most unprofessional charge Nurse she is refusing to give my brother prescribed blood thinner for the last 48 hours . She will not get me in touch with the Doctor on call and she is refusing to speak with me when I call because they are at this point intentionally not giving him life saving medication !!! We are not upset about a vitamin this is a life saving medication she needs to get on the right side of what is best for her patient! I will not stop until she has to answer for it!I have responded via email and want a call immediately! Should anything happen to my brother I will hold her and your facility 100% responsibleEdit: your response is less than impressive.. standard response if you read all of them! I want action and I want you to reach out to me about the well being of my brother in your care!

Gavin and Andreas are the best techs here. Twila, Tammy & DJ are all sweethearts. You will learn more from the patients and their stories than you will from the counselors or groups. You only receive about two one-on-ones while you're there. Food is 6/10. Very laid back and relaxed, beach days are the best. Medline sucks you wait an hour sometimes 2 to take meds. I don't regret going or the people I met there. Its great for what it is. Also be careful with how many MGs in meds they give you. If you smoke bring as many cigs or vapes as you need for 30 days. It's a great program right on the water. I'm very antisocial but that didn't exist with my stay here.

tammy the tech is amazing. love her. some of the counselors (ex- meredith) were somewhat rude. i think if you come into a recovery setting, the counselors should not call you out in front of a group (for example, showering or hygiene). my counselor, meredith, offered absolutely no mercy when i was put on 3 antidepressants and was adjusting to my meds. she put me on 10 foot rule with majority of the facility because i slept through our group sessions BECAUSE i was adjusting to the medication i was prescribed, per the psychiatrist doctor that you see through zoom- he was nice, however, i think that a psychiatrist should see patients in person before they prescribe anything- i was prescribed 300mg of wellbutrin at 12 oaks, which made me have seizures, because they don t take vitals every week, as they said they would. don t be fooled. the nursing staff, except madison and adaire, doesn t care. angel and caleb are amazing counselors and i wish they got more credit for the role that they play at 12 oaks. i opened up to angel about how i felt targeted by majority of the techs, and she agreed. angel will advocate for you to other staff members, as she did for me. i honestly believe that angel is the best counselor that has ever been at 12 oaks. she has been in a patient position and understands how it is to be the patient. i will give 12 oaks credit where credit is due, and i have been sober since my time at 12 oaks. i am thankful for chef bill, angel, caleb, and those that helped me progress on my sobriety journey. i have made friends here that will forever be my support system. i am more thankful for the other patients for sharing their stories than anything. THAT is what made me decide to be sober. the sweat lodge that they bring you to is absolutely AMAZING. chief standing bear will cleanse you through four phases of prayer inside of the sweat lodge, and i think they may be one of my best experiences through 12 oaks. however, there is a lot of rehab romance at 12 oaks. there were people screwing in detox, which is RIGHT NEXT to the detox nurses station. i personally say that if you aren t prepared to get sober, don t go here. i have lost a few friends since leaving 12 oaks. this place IS for you if you re struggling between the idea of being sober and staying active in addiction. if you re still set on staying in addiction, i would not go here. i hope that everyone reading this review is able to get themselves to sobriety. it is worth it. you are worth it. i promise your family, friends and anyone else in between, believes you are worth it. please choose to stay and get help, even if it s not from 12 oaks.

This is one of the best centers that I have ever walked into. Mostly all of the staff s are very friendly, attentive, caring, and would even go the extra mile to help. The scenery is very relaxing with a beach and a great pier. I will be celebrating my 20 weeks sober and I feel indebted to this center for turning my life around, and change my path. Thank you.
