Terrible billing practices. My daughter started seeing Kim Rosborough in April 2019. On May 30, I asked for an invoice of all appointments to date. On May 31, I was given an invoice missing the May 30 appointment. I figured that maybe it would take a few days to get the appointment listed and submitted to insurance. On September 15, I asked for an updated invoice, as the May 30 appointment had still not been submitted to insurance. I received no response to my email. On October 2, I again requested an updated invoice. Again, I did not receive an invoice. On October 10, I again requested an updated invoice. I finally got an invoice on October 17, but the invoice had numerous errors. It was missing four appointments and three payments. On October 18, I again requested an updated/corrected invoice. As of this writing (December 16, 2019), I have not received a corrected invoice. I did get a bill in the mail (Nov 25) for two appointments (May 30 and Oct 24) for which I've already paid on the dates of those appointments (and have receipts for those payments).

Accepted Insurance

Turning Leaves Therapy LLP works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in South Carolina is a substance-free environment for individuals who are recovering from drug or alcohol abuse. Since these settings do not provide treatment services, they are not covered by insurance. However, your treatment provider may be able to offer financial support if you need assistance with rent payment. They may also refer you to a men's or women's sober living home that offers sliding scale fees.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in South Carolina is designed to protect those in recovery from health risks of withdrawal. For example, opioid withdrawal can cause vomiting and diarrhea that results in a life-threatening level of dehydration. Withdrawal from benzodiazepines can cause seizures which can be fatal. To avoid these risks, supervised medical detox is recommended. Under this care, medical professionals constantly monitor patients to ensure a safe detox process.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.

Clinical Services

The main basis of cognitive behavioral therapy in South Carolina is that all your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. Therefore, the therapist will help you change your thoughts, which will lead to different emotions and actions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The overall goal of trauma therapy is to address and reduce the lingering physical and emotional effects that trauma has had on your life. You work within a safe space with an experienced therapist to understand your responses and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

The goal of all family therapy sessions is to support their loved one's recovery effectively by learning new and healthy communication skills as well as ways of managing stress and resolving conflicts. This helps improve interactions and addresses underlying issues within the family that often influence recovery.

Men have a hard time getting a chance to talk. Feel like I don't get to express my feelings in sit ins, and even when I do, I am told how I was wrong, or I should have done it another way. Very demeaning, not professional, and honestly don't feel like it is getting anywhere. Which is when you decide to stop therapy. I was against going there at first because of all the reviews I had read, and my best friend had been there before with his daughter, and he shared his experience with me. He was spot on, but unfortunately, the mother chose the destination, and of course I had no say in it.

Kim Rosborough was referred to my daughter by her pedriatrician. We saw her a hand full of times but decided to stop seeing the therapist because my daughter didn t like the sessions. I was asked to pay for the sessions upfront and once my insurance was filled the insurance company would reimburse me. Months later I received an explanation of benefits from our insurance company showing that they had paid Kim Rosborough for her services. I called Miss Kim and explained to her that she had gotten paid twice and asked what could she do to get me that money back. Anyway, the story ends with her charging me for missing appointments , which one of them I had cancelled the day before due to weather related reasons, and the other two I cancelled weeks in advance, to justify why she wasn t going to reimburse my money. I was so disappointed to know that people do that each other, specially us parents, during moments when we feel helpless to our children, these people take advantage of those moments.
