About Tides Edge Detox Center

Located in sunny, balmy Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Tides Edge Detox Center offers drug rehab services to individuals who are trying to recover from drug and alcohol addictions. With modalities of treatment such as cognitive behavioral therapy, individual counseling, group therapy, yoga therapy, and medication assisted treatment (MAT), you’ll find plenty to help you throughout your recovery journey.

The levels of care offered at this treatment center vary, including detox services and residential treatment for up to 90 days. This means you’ll be able to live at this facility temporarily while you are being treated. It’s a cozy home that has pretty scenery and clean, inviting furniture. Despite the white walls, you won’t feel like you’re in a hospital setting at all. I know that for many people, that can be a daunting environment to focus on recovery. The outdoors space offers plenty of room for socializing and fellowship. Plus, it’s not too far from the Atlantic seashore, and you can take advantage of outdoor excursions to immerse yourself in nature.

The detox process can also be daunting, depending on the severity of your addiction. This is why they also offer medication assisted treatment, which uses medications such as Suboxone and Vivitrol in order to help you recover safely and without any issues. Sometimes, when addiction is deeply-rooted, it can be dangerous to recover on your own. These medications can help reduce the severity of withdrawal symptoms and uncomfortable cravings that might cause you to relapse.

As I mentioned earlier, this residential center also offers individual therapy and group therapy, as well as yoga therapy. Individual and group therapy lets you speak directly with a professional therapist, or with a group, who can help guide you along the right path, identify triggers, learn coping skills, and deal with past trauma. They also have yoga therapy which can help both your mind and body.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I can't say enough good things about this place and their staff! This was my first rodeo and I'm definitely glad that I chose this place over Lakeview or Stepping Stones..... Max capacity is 20 here compared to 100 to 150 at other places. Not to mention, so long as you don't need ongoing medical attention after your detox and you don't have behavioral issues, then you spend the rest of your stay at Tides @ 11th which is a block from the beach and is a set of three story condos. Once at 11th then you have more freedom while still keeping routine and structure but they take you to the beach many times a week (weather providing).

Terrible scam place! Brought me 600 miles from home & kicked me out after they got me high on some benzo I told them I didn't need or want. Then some blonde nurse/staff threatened me then lied & said I threatened her & called police & kicked me out! Also didn't return some of my personal hygiene items! Im a veteran & slept in cold rain for Thanksgiving! Lawsuit inbound!
