This program is the best one I've been to and has helped me to stay sober. They make sure everything is taken care of whilst you are here. Food, shelter, groups and tools you need to stay sober. The councilors are helpful and understand our issues, the facility is clean with nice amenities like a gym area and a barber area. Would recommend to anybody struggling with substance abuse.

Accepted Insurance

The Transition House, Inc. – Residential Program works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step of the recovery process involves the removal of all drugs and alcohol from your system while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, you are closely monitored by medical staff who can provide medications, if necessary, to help alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. Medical detox is usually followed by a period of inpatient addiction treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

This is a wonderful program filled with love and support. As a resident of several of these type facilities I can say without hesitation that it is by far the best treatment center that I have been apart if. The groups are instructive and inspiring, the staff is respectful and always helpful for anything I need, and the food is plentiful and terrific. The rooms are clean and the bedding is super comfortable, and the outside area offers a great recreation/gym area with great quality equipment. I honestly have no complaints about this program and would highly recommend it to anyone that is ready to change their life for the better. I am forever grateful for all they have done for me and will carry this experience with me always. Thank you Transition House, for everything.

Don t care too much about leaving reviews but this place made an impression on me and my life. at first when I was recommended this program after my recent car accident, I was oblige to even go there as I felt like I didn t need it, but over the time I was very appreciative of the help that it played in the support of my tragic situation at that time from the staff to the newly appointed director( Mr. Clavin Bell) that started his journey about a week before I entered the program a truly dedicated and invested person his position and the counselors like (Jack) Specifically My Counselor, (Mr. Larry) helped me so much from our individual conversations and guidance to even group settings. These guys quickly became role models in my life but that was second to family. They care to the point that would make you feel. Why wouldn t you care about yourself this way? They were always there to let me know It s goin to be ok! I made a mistake and my career and my life is not over. They present to you resources, schooling, trade programs (Valencia), partnership with G.E.D courses, Job opportunities, etc. and get you from A to B when needed and educate you every step of the way to take those new steps on the path. From time to time I think back on my experience and about the fact that I didn t even want to go there in the first place and now because of the transition house. it would be a memory that I will cherish forever from meeting so much, intelligent veterans and learning about their journey open my eyes to so much more in life. I will forever be in debt to these guys and of course (the transition house). but any operation is only as good as the people that are running it . So Thank you!

My name is Jerome Williams, and I have been a resident at the Transition House for a year. And I can honestly say that this place has literally saved my life. The Director Mr. Calvin Bell, under his leader ship, he has taken the helm and changed this entire facility, the environment and the morale of the entire community for the better, and with counselors like Mr. Larry, Mr. Jack and others have been very dedicated, caring and extremely helpful. Mr. Larry, I have to be specific by telling you that by his tutelage and counseling he has helped me change my perspective on my life, and has also taught me how to live a clean and sober life, and to also be successful in my recovery, Mrs. Sabrina Warren, a former staff member is fair but firm and disciplined, but I am a former United States Marine, so I m used to that way of life. She has been a godsend as well. there may be other residents who may have a different opinion, but that s only because they have refused to be open minded, willing, and honest about changing their life. I will wholeheartedly not only suggest, but encourage any addict that s in active addiction to give them a try. I can guarantee you that the experience is definitely life-changing.

Decided to leave a review mainly due to all the negative reviews I see. It's really quite simple in my opinion, they will provide you with all the possible help you could imagine, they will be there to help you through the entire process, but they're not going to hold your hand and and coddle you. You need to make the efforts and motivate yourself to make it work. I was homeless 5 years ago, had nothing to my name, living in the coalition. Spoke with a case worker from SSVF and informed me that they could help but I needed to make the efforts to get a job, find housing, and properly support myself. It was a struggle and could not have done it on my own, and that's were SSVF came in to help. If you are lazy and want a free ride it won't work for you and you will fail, you can choose to blame yourself or others, but in the end you need to make it work. If you dedicate yourself to fixing the current situation you are in, they will 100% provide you with numerous resources and put just as much if not more effort into helping you achieve a better life. Thank you for your help.

I've been here since July 14th and this program has contributed to the overall health and well-being to a CHANGED-LIFE! They target an array areas in the arenas of Substance Use & Abuse, Strengthening Mental Health, Relapse Prevention, Music Therapy, Financial Planning, Homelessness Prevention, Purpose Discovery & Family Focus Through Gainful Employment. I'm a veteran of the United States Navy and I would recommend this program to the masses. I salute you Transition House!

B E W A R E!!! They can disqualify you from this program and require you to leave within 5 hours or less. This just happened to my mother, who left another transitional housing program to come to this one. She thought The Transition House, Inc. was a better fit for her age and medical conditions. I dropped my mother off on Tuesday (8/31/2021) around 3pm, and she was calling me by 2pm on Wednesday (9/1/2021)- the next day, to tell me that they had told her she no longer qualified for their program, and that she had to be out of the house by 5pm. Please note, this was not due to her breaking any sort of rules. I called Linda (my second time in a week, the first time was about availability) asking for more details as to why my mom no longer qualified. Do you think I got a call back? Nope! They pretty much made my mom homeless, with NO regard. They did not try to find an alternative transitional house or anything. Can you imagine!?! This is supposed to be a sober living program, and putting someone out into the street without even a 24 hour notice could trigger any addict! This is poor professionalism, and gross incompetence! We suspect that they disqualified her because her insurance had changed. That is unacceptable!
