About Summer House Detox Center

Summer House is a private detox center for adults in Miami, Florida. They offer detox and have medication assisted treatment for folks struggling with alcohol use. One thing that stands out to me about this program is that some of the staff members are also in recovery. This can help create a sense of community within the treatment environment.

If you’re struggling with alcohol addiction, you’ll get the opportunity to detox safely. However, they have additional services to ensure lifelong recovery and sobriety. They administer meds like acamprosate, disulfiram, naltrexone, and topiramate.
Alongside their treatment methods, you’ll have the chance to partake in additional services such as massage therapy, Tai Chi classes, acupuncture, jacuzzi access, and yoga. You’ll also have computer and cell phone access. For meals, you’ll be given a full-course meal cooked by a four-star chef. They provide you with a large bedroom with your own private bathroom. You are immersed in a peaceful, private environment. If you’re looking for a program that encompasses all aspects of life, then this one might be the place for you.

Heart icon Treatment

book iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

file-medical iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

house-medical iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.

book-medical icon12-Step

12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.

house iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Florida often serves as a transitional residence for individuals coming out of inpatient rehab. This helps those in recovery avoid isolation that can sometimes happen after they return home from treatment. It offers a supportive environment where they can practice skills learned in rehab. Offering a combination of structure and freedom, men's or women's sober living is a good stepping stone to independent life in recovery.

people-group iconIntervention Services

If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.

hospital iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Couples Therapy

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Creative Arts Therapy

Types of creative arts therapy in Florida include playing music, writing poetry, journaling, dancing, painting, and sculpting. These expressive activities can help you process emotions and work through challenges with the guidance of a creative arts therapist.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

The techs are awesome..thanks to tj who went out of his way for me and make sure I got what I needed to make my stay more comfortable and same to Mike, Bert and wade for doing the same . I want also say thanks to Jenn, jess,Tiffany ,gunner ,Carlos, Joe, Cassie, Erica, Erin for being amazing people and doing such a great job even though at times things can be stressful. And thank you louis for getting me a meal for my sabbath and making sure I was prepared to still keep my sabbath the correct way . My roommates and the people I met were extremely inspiring and motivating . I would recommend this detox to anyone who wants to get better- there all amazing people and all truly care about your well being . You guys are are the best ..xoxo xoxo marie harari

My review is solely based on what I have experienced being a patient at Summer House Detox. The facility has always made me feel as I was part of a family as opposed to being a patient. The employees from the owner, techs and nursing department have always treated me with dignity and respect. They are always willing to hear you out if you should have any issues and will try their best to advice you on what corrections or options you have regarding your issue. They do have A/A and N/A and therapists who are available to to discuss if anything is without any pressure. They really do care for you at this facility. Now on another note. This facility whether it be my first or second time here I truly recommend that if you should ever feel that if you can not choose a facility. I strongly suggest to give Summer House Detox a try and you will not be disappointed. Some other perks to include are the gourmet chefs that will not disappoint . Meals are cooked fresh and daily. Your rooms are immaculately clean. Housekeeping takes pride in their duties and it shows without questions. You can really tell it is not all talk and they truly care. Their goal is for them to let you know that you are not alone and they will guide you the best way they can to accomplish your goals of completing sobriety while staying there and helping you to your next destination.

I came into summer house basically screaming.I definitely didn t want to be here, but I had no choice. My son his wife my sister and my niece who was also in recovery were at my house. No one was leaving until I agreed to come.I walked in the door and was met by Jessica. She did my intake and i immediately felt relaxed. They took me to my room and I met some of the staff.I didn t realize this was a detox and since I wasn t hard drinking at the time didn t really detox.Wednesday i had an excellent breakfast (the food is amazing) and went to a meeting. Each day i got to know the staff and other patients. It s a family here.Everyone cares about us and they are all friends. Also this is the cleanest place ever

When I came to Summer House on Monday I was not sure what to expect, as it was my first time at a detox facility. In the duration of my time here at Summer House (7 days), the staff, and nurses were beyond helpful. They were super kind and if you needed anything, they were on it immediately. I suggest Summer House for anyone who needs a family friends detox center. 10/10.

this place saved my life. Staff actually gives a damn, you get fed well so that your body can recover which is very important you don t realize how much so until you have that kind of care and it makes you feel so much better. It s comfortable. You can get in touch with loved ones easily. Going outside isn t super restricted like other more hospital like settings. I started to get my life back here. A staff member when I was so distressed I could not function went to the trouble of printing out a picture of my fianc and my dog and giving it to me cut out in the shape of a heart. That picture it in my car to this day. I get a year 2 weeks from now. Thank you, I owe you guys everything.
