About Stepworks of Nicholasville

Stepworks of Nicholasville is a drug and alcohol rehab located in Nicholasville, Kentucky. They provide medical detox and residential addiction treatment.

Addiction-related services provided at Stepworks include short-stay detox and inpatient addiction treatment.

Medical Detox
The first phase of treatment is short-stay medical detox that allows individuals to safely and comfortably withdraw from substances. Medication is administered as needed under medical supervision to ease discomfort and curb drug cravings. Some people require only a short stay for withdrawal management, while others move on to residential treatment after detox is complete. Individuals who are detoxing from alcohol or benzodiazepines stay for three to seven days, while individuals detoxing from opioids stay for eleven to 13 days.

Residential Addiction Treatment
This program focuses on structured group therapy that helps participants develop the skills needed to transition back into normal life and create a foundation for long-lasting recovery. Program components include daily recovery groups, processing groups, family therapy, and digging into the root cause of addiction. This structured sober environment provides empathy, support, and accountability.

Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs enable clients to integrate addiction treatment into their daily lives. Clients typically continue to work and reside at home, but may engage in daily therapeutic sessions, depending on need. Outpatient treatment generally involves individual, group, and/or family therapy, recovery-focused life skills training, and a variety of ancillary services, such as career counseling or vocational training. Outpatient rehabs often encompass multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, and standard outpatient.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) specialize in high-level care for clients requiring robust support. This includes those in early recovery, those in crisis, and those stepping down from inpatient care. Clients typically participate in a minimum of nine treatment hours per week, but many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 hours of service weekly. Their primary treatment modalities generally combine psychotherapy and recovery education. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and/or opioid recovery is widely available.

12-step icon12-Step

Participants in 12 step programs attend regular group meetings, which are free, anonymous, and open to the public. Most communities offer multiple meetings daily, with specialized formats, including programs for seniors, teens, and families, widely available. 12 step recovery prioritizes participants' spiritual, emotional, and psychological growth and healing to support their sustained sobriety. Participants also receive one-on-one mentoring from a self-selected sponsor as they work through the 12 steps of recovery.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

A sober living home in Kentucky offers many benefits to those in recovery. These drug-free environments allow individuals to distance themselves from situations that would prompt triggers and lead to relapse. Men's and women's sober living also offers 12-step programs, counseling, job placement services, and long-term residence after treatment. During their stay, residents are required to abstain from alcohol and drug use, pay rent, and contribute to household responsibilities.

24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care

Intensive levels of rehab involve 24-hour clinical care in Kentucky. This level of care is for those who have severe substance use disorders and need medical stabilization. Drug dependency can cause extreme withdrawal symptoms when the drug use stops, so this supervised care is necessary to treat those symptoms. Treatment involves 24-hour medical care, counseling, and medications.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Nothing but a glorified homeless shelter. Don't go there with what you need because most of the people there smoke but don't have cigarettes and they will alienate you and make your recovery process very difficult. And some of the clients are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want by being a disruption and distraction to others that are trying to focus on learning a new

I was here from August to September. They are amazing. They really focus on the care you need. The staff is very friendly and loving. This is the place where you find yourself as well as your new family. They make it so easy to find yourself and they are very understanding of the things that come with the disease of addiction as well as the process of recovery.

This place is not for everyone. Some of the staff, Laura in particular, are irresponsible. She put my life in danger by refusing to call for help and refusing to allow me to call my mom. She also told lies about me and raised her voice. Went to the ER and they thought it was terrible what happened. She will be hearing from corporate about the incident.
