I have been sober for 5 years, never missed a group, or counciling appointment. I had two weeks of take homes, the new head nurse Nicole took them away because I didn t rinse my dose out of my cup and claimed diversion. I am a mother of a beautiful son. The director Christina Brown has done nothing to help me, she will not even pick up the phone or call me back. I asked to see the video footage. No answer!!!! They only care about clients to bill your insurance, or make you pay if you do not have insurance an outrageous bill weekly. This place needs to be shut down!!!! Is this how they treat a patient that has gone above and beyond her treatment? Christmas cards every year? Always taking my time out to say hello to all of the staff that have stayed on the job there In Haverhill which I can tell you everyone has left. All of the good staff. Ask around! Please do not come here! Seek out the Sublocade shot. Do not be a pawn. Liquid handcuffs!

Accepted Insurance

Spectrum Health Systems works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

This place is a public health hazard. This place is a covid super spreader. Don t expect take homes here. just expect long lines and incompetent employees. Expect the program director Christina Brown to retaliate against you when you speak out.

This place is the worst,I visit my family in Florida a lot and have to guest dose and the only people allowed to help you fill out the paperwork to guest dose has to be a counselor, well I went 4 times and 2 of the times the secretary helped me and everything was perfect, the other times was a counselor and one time the supervisor and both those times I called the clinic I was dosing at in Florida and they didn t even know who I was,I think that s pretty sad when the secretary gets it right and the counselor and supervisor both get it wrong, this place is the worst I can t wait to taper of this stuff, this place is a joke

New Year s Eve and my brother in-law had an appointment at 6:30am. My husband assisted his brother to get treated. His brother is blind and is currently on dialysis. From the time they arrived the staff was completely incompetent in understanding that there are certain restrictions medically that hinder my brother in law from doing certain things. This was news to them! After explaining this to them more than 4 times the office staff still couldn t understand. Mind blowing to be a health service provider and have zero knowledge of any of their patients coming in on a daily basis. The entire staff left my husband and his brother waiting in the facility until 10am! Without any update without any apologies or acknowledgement that a blind man is still waiting for hours is mind boggling to me! He hadn t eaten and also wasn t able to take his medication. In the end they left him withYou re no longer welcome here and we will do our best to try and find you another facility that will be willing to take you! What?!?!Working in a office means that everyday you prepare yourself for the day. You see appointments that are coming in. You re pretty much supposed to be on top of your game. Especially with COVID you do not have a person waiting for hours who is blind on dialysis whom has susceptible health! This review is my first step. The treatment is unacceptable! Zero respect and zero compassion zero work ethic!

Dear Ms. Morales, We are sorry that this experience left you feeling that Spectrum did not meet the needs of your family member. It is important to us to care for any client who walks through our doors with the utmost respect. There are some cases where appointments do take longer than others as in any other medical facility. For instance, newly presented or changes in healthcare information, changes in medications, potential medication interactions or a number of other things that cannot always be anticipated. If any of these were the case for your family member, we ask your understanding while we work to ensure the safety of all of our clients. If there were other things that led to this experience, we invite you to speak to Christina, our Regional Program Director. She can be reached at 978-241-7775. Thank you, Spectrum Management

GOD help me if she was completely gone because sure enough so would I be.Christana Brown personally and professionally is one of few who truly get it.The world is blessed and so was I no matter how I ended up. Merry Christmas & God Bless all the unsung Heroes fighting a battle most can't look at.
