Just as an update, the owner asked me to send him an email and let s just say my email went out on Dec 6th and I still haven t heard back. Not to mention when I called services until further notice my daughters fill in therapist Sarah, not one time called to check in with my daughter and her overall health in over 3 weeks but called to make sure the company can bill the insurance today. I discontinued services about a month ago. SMH!

This is not to down the office. The young lasy who is the receptionist has always been amazing. When I'd come in there she has always been respectful. The therapist for my daughter has been amazing even though she is on leave . My own therapist has been amazing so this is not to thr staff because they have worked hard for people. This is to the lack of regard, respect, and empathy those who have higher titles wear. Some things recently changed in my life causing me to have a old bill. I knew the bill was due and had intentions on paying I just requested a little time. So I was transferred to someone in the billing department. The first person I spoke to was Michelle. She was very unpleasant with rude like tone, but I digressed and asked to speak to the manager which is Kathy Schwengel. Well apparently the manager works from home. So she emails me. I tell her no I asked for a phone call. She finally calls. Me thinking that she is the overseer I thought it would be of wise counsel to address my concern that I had with Michelle the previous day. Unbeknownst to me she is just as rude. I tell her my story. Letting her know that I will be making a payment and that I just needed some time to handle some things. She's rude and tells me "well you received a service and you need to pay". I tell her that I am not, not trying to pay but that I need to make sure that I handle something and then I'll be ok. So I just need time. I think asked about their policy about not being turned away for services. Never mind you she's telling me that I'll just be going to collections. She tells me that the policy is true but very rudely say we'll you received a service so you need go pay. I told her well what if im unable to pay? I said you know people go through things, she tells me rudely that I paid for a service and I need to just pay. I tell her that she is not going to talk to me like that. She proceeds to try to talk over me. So I tell her again don't talk to me like that. She screams really loud in the phone and say oh Well, just pay your bill then. As to not lose my cool I hang up the phone.I cancel services until further notice. Not to mention I reach out to the director letting her know my concerns. Let's just say it's been at least two going on three weeks without so much as a phone call. Not to mention shes very well aware of my phone call.As someone who has been going to this clinic for over 2 years, I am very appalled by this treatment seriously. As much growth I've made over this time I don't think I'd be back. This situation truly left a nasty taste in my mouth. You guys really need to think more about the people that you have handling people. Especially those trying to figure life out. They need help not to be scolded like a child. They can keep that for their own children.

Due to HIPAA, I can only provide a limited response. Thank you for complimenting one of our support staff and one of our therapists. They are indeed commendable and merit a positive mention. As to Kathy, she is not a director, but is in our billing department. So is Michelle. So, it's no wonder they focus on a bill. Though we do want all of our staff to be consumer-focused. I am the President of the company and welcome feedback that we can use for improving our customer service. Accepted Insurance

Shorehaven Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Rude owner.

This is troubling for us. I am the owner of the company and I have not had any interactions at our offices the past several weeks other than with my staff. So, I would like to know more about this complaint and see what we can do to improve. You can email me at drosenberg@shorehavenbhi.com. Our goal is to investigate and resolve concerns rapidly.

This place was great a few years back however my grandson attended with great therapist at that time I just recently reached out at this clinic for my grandson and the therapist was great at that time we met with him but do to transportation issues.. I wasn t able to keep schedule appointments I was unaware of the policy of two missed appointments they discharge you however I feel the therapist that my grandson was very very unconcerned of the reason for missed appointments and I felt when I spoke to him concerning upcoming appointments he was very rude and dismissive and unconcerned so far as I m concerned I will never return here not professional!!!!!!

We are always extremely concerned about any lapses in our services. Due to HIPAA, we cannot given a specific reply in a public forum. Our Executive Director, Lynn Godec, is always ready to sort out any complaints or difficulties as quickly as possible. She is available at 414-540-2170. She can also help with locating resources one may need.

Contacted therapy intake worker and they turned us away saying our situation wasn't severe even though it truly is. They refused to help us. Worker gave us different places tocontact that didn't meet our needs. Do not recommend! Don't waste your time contacting them!

Response from the owner2 years ago
I'm sorry you had a negative experience. We have the capacity to help, so I would like to investigate. Can you tell me the days you called and the approximate time? I'd like to check with the intake worker who was on duty at that time. Was your request for outpatient therapy, in-home therapy, or psychiatry? The rules for in-home therapy eligibility are set by the state, not by Shorehaven, and if the problem does not fit the state's criteria, in-home won't be approved. It's not that we think anyone's request for help is not valid as we welcome all to get needed help.

This place does absolutely nothing that they advertise on their web page and have a intake lady named Mary Ann that took three weeks to even respond to my message I left on voicemail. Then proceeded to tell me they just forgot and couldn t answer any of the basic questions I had and was totally clueless. Should be negative stars but .

Response from the owner2 years ago
As the President of the company, I am replying to your comments. I'm sorry you had a negative experience. Sometimes, callers ask for a kind of service that is outside what an outpatient clinic can do. Sometimes, we receive a high volume of callers and it is a challenge to serve everyone quickly. Mary Ann was brand new to the position and we are working on additional training protocols for future callers. If there is anything I can do to help you further, please write drosenberg@shorehavenbhi.com.
