About Sequoia Mental Health Services

Sequoia Mental Health Services is an addiction and mental health treatment center in Hillsboro, Oregon. The clinic at this address offers a number of outpatient treatment services for those in need of mental health or addiction treatment. There are also residential treatment programs within Sequoia at other locations. They accept insurance, but they also offer a number of options to those without insurance.

Substance use services at the Main Street clinic include outpatient addiction care for adults and adolescents, DUI classes, and dual diagnosis treatment for those struggling with both addiction and mental health diagnoses.

During outpatient substance use treatment, you will have access to individual and group therapy, support groups, and family therapy. You’ll learn coping skills, useful life skills, and ways to address the roots of substance use disorder. By finding healthy ways to address trauma and life stress, you can lay a solid foundation for long term recovery.

Since this is a dual diagnosis clinic, patients seeking treatment for substance use disorder can also get treatment for co occurring mental health issues through those same programs. With psychiatric intervention, patients have access to medical staff, counseling and medications that may help alleviate mental health issues that may worsen addiction.

Former clients of this facility have said mostly positive things about their time. One patient said that they looked forward to counseling, and they felt a true connection with their counselor. Another patient had concerns about the scheduling process and accessibility of video conferencing.

Accepted Insurance

Sequoia Mental Health Services works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients who wish to remain in their homes while in recovery may elect to enroll in an outpatient rehab, many of which offer evening, night, and weekend services to accommodate clients' schedules. Most outpatient facilities provide multiple levels of care to align with clients' evolving needs, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) for clients who require robust support and supervision. Addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training are the most common treatment modalities.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

During family therapy sessions, each member learns to rebuild trust and strengthen the relationships that have been negatively affected by addiction. Family therapists use guided interventions to help members improve their communication skills and interactions, as well as address underlying issues within the family. This helps to create a supportive atmosphere for everyone.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Wasted a month of my time at a time when I really needed help quickly. They said they could do in person appts since I have anxiety about video conferences but two days before I finally had an appt with a counselor they decided to work from home and left me hanging. Now I m starting over the long process of finding someone else.

I have been with Sequoia for over a year and my counselor is the best; she really took the time to get to know and understand me - which is no small feat - and she got thru which is not the typical norm I m used to with counselors; I have never looked forward to a counselor session like I did with her. > wish you the best in your new promoted position. You deserve it > I will seriously try with another counselor; because you assured me that it will work if I really try
