My daughter Crystal Hardwick went into the Saint Clares Institution for the Disabled in November 2012, at nine years old and my family and I were in Family Court , Freehold, NJ, with Judge Teresa Kondrup Coyle from 2012-2015. She was placed in the Saint Clares Institution for the disabled in Jersey City, NJ. and Neptune, NJ. and we live in Monmouth County , NJ. I wanted to resume Custody of my two children John and Crystal Hardwick but we could not provide all of the evidence to the Court in a timely manner .We were Victims of Hurricane Sandy and we are Victims of a Crime, I am a Victim of Identity Theft and I am a Victim of Domestic Abuse. I felt threatened by being in this situation. I received additional Counseling to go forward with my children and I have many recommendations of Reunification to reunite with my kids again .I did not consent to put either one of my two children up for Adoption and I am still hoping that the kids move back home to me again. My son wants to see me but we are still trying to work all of this out for a smooth transition home for them. The Supervisor of Asbury Park, NJ, DCPP, Dyfus, Ms,. Beverly Jackson, stated that if my kids want to move back home when they are adults then they can if they want to, My son is now 22 years old and my daughter is now 19 years old. My parents worked for the Federal Government for 25-35 years and we have family that worked for Law Enforcement and for the Fire Department and for the IRS, we all pray every single day with our entire family and friends that my kids can return back home to me again. My two cousins Tracy and Tanya Kaiserian, Wall, NJ got involved with my two kids and we never saw my kids again as far as visitation was concerned. My parents, my sister and my husband really did not want my cousins involved with my children they had visits on Sunday which made us very uncomfortable that we could not see our children on the weekend and then we had to share the responsibility with all of these people .I am still here hoping and praying that I can resume Custody of my two kids John and Crystal again and I have had plenty of Counseling to be the best woman and mother for this to happen here in New Jersey.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients often enter inpatient rehab following detox, but they may also enroll during early recovery or at an increased risk of relapse. Inpatient rehabs provide housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision, allowing clients to focus exclusively on their recovery in a highly structured and supportive environment. Clients typically receive multiple individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions weekly. Many programs also offer extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training. Integrative inpatient rehabs provide holistic therapies as well.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Saint Clare’s Enhanced Outpatient Program (EOP) is referral-based program for adults (18+) residing in Morris County with serious, persistent mental illness and/or co-occurring mental health and substance abuse issues who require intensive clinical outpatient services and recovery-oriented support. The Enhanced Outpatient Program is specifically designed to be short-term, with a length of stay of up to 6 months on average.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in a rehab aftercare program have typically completed detox and intensive inpatient and are medically stable. These programs are designed to address addiction recovery as a life-long process. Outpatient counseling and recovery education are typically categorized as drug rehab aftercare, but many clients continue to receive support after being discharged from formal outpatient treatment. Case managers and recovery teams facilitate clients' access to peer coaching, career counseling, 12 step program induction, and related services.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs engage in a rigorous process of personal growth as a cornerstone of long-term recovery. They are expected to attend anonymous, peer-led 12 step meetings, which are free, open to the public, and available multiple times per day in most communities. Though these programs are rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation is not required. Self-selected peer sponsors mentor participants as they work through the 12 steps, learning forgiveness, understanding, acceptance, and accountability.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
A sober living home in New Jersey is for individuals who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction issues. This type of halfway house residence is focused on helping individuals learn and apply the tools of recovery. The setting provides fellowship, support, and structure to prevent relapse. The homes are typically designed for either men or women, but some may offer space for women with their children.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in New Jersey is more than a confrontational conversation. This organized effort is specific and goal-oriented. During the intervention, family members share specific examples of how the person's addiction has impacted their lives and spell out what they will do if the individual does not get treatment. The intervention also presents a clear treatment plan, which typically involves input from intervention services.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off addictive substances. When you become physically dependent on alcohol or drugs, quitting abruptly can cause a host of challenging and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals will be on hand to monitor any symptoms, to provide medication if possible, and to help keep you as safe and as comfortable as possible throughout this process.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New Jersey typically follows a set structure of treatment. The therapist helps clients identify their life challenges and their thoughts surrounding those challenges. The client then learns to identify unhealthy thought patterns and reshape those into healthy patterns of thinking and behavior.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Career Services at Saint Clare’s offers comprehensive strategies to assist adults with a psychiatric disability to be successful in their vocational and educational pursuits. Their experts work with clients at every step of the education and employment processes, from the enrollment process or hiring process to ongoing support.

For best results, nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) should be combined with other methods to quit smoking. While NRT addresses physical dependence, other quit program elements are necessary to address emotional and mental dependence. Together, these supports can help you successfully quit tobacco for good.

Poor less than poor treatment. They keep giving the same medication expecting a different result. If the medication does not work it will not work. Try something else. The doctors don t listen too busy to observe the results of their care .Not even half a star. This would only post if a star is checked.

My daughters mother was released from another facility and was set up for St Clair's IOP program. , they ended up admitting her because she was still having issues but after about a week she was discharged and instead of making sure she was discharged to a safe place like shelter she was at before she was admitted in Morris county they apparently at patients request whom has been hospitalized 6. -7 times in last 2 years drop her off on streets of Newark where she has never lived knows any safe place and was supposed to do some type of outpatient program which she never arrived and has not been seen or heard from and is now missing and a missing person report is going to be filed. I cant wait to find out who actually thought that was a good idea. If something happens to her because of their stupidity I will make sure someone is accountable

The be perfectly honest with you the whole hospital St Clairs as a whole really needs to upgrade every part of their facility they have even the one in Dover cuz now they look and they probably are outdated. And Morristown hospital blows them out of the water. It's not even a competition.

I am absolutely appalled at the state of this facility. My friend has been experiencing serious harassment by other patients and neglect by the staff. He is not getting better while there, he is getting worse. They didn't offer him a shower for days. Please, do not recommend this place to anyone seeking help for mental health - it is not safe whatsoever. I am so upset that his whole ordeal at this facility has made him feel even worse than when he admitted himself. He calls me from their community phone and I can t even describe how distressing it is to hear someone struggling in a place where they went to get help, and not being allowed to leave even though they are being harassed. I am simply appalled and will be considering filing a complaint about this facility with the New Jersey Board of Health.
