They provided terrible service to my mother after a stroke and refused a psychiatric evaluation for her after we begged. They did not look holistically at her health and discharged her knowing she was not fit mentally and needed psychiatric intervention. She then died a week late. After her death, they attempted to collect. Disgusting

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive a full continuum of care while continuing to live at home. They're often ideal for clients who are stepping down from inpatient care but some clients may prefer to transition into outpatient treatment immediately after completing detox. Many outpatient facilities also offer ambulatory medical detox for low-risk clients. Outpatient treatment generally includes psychotherapy and life skills training. Clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in a rehab aftercare program have typically completed detox and intensive inpatient and are medically stable. These programs are designed to address addiction recovery as a life-long process. Outpatient counseling and recovery education are typically categorized as drug rehab aftercare, but many clients continue to receive support after being discharged from formal outpatient treatment. Case managers and recovery teams facilitate clients' access to peer coaching, career counseling, 12 step program induction, and related services.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in New Jersey provides a setting where you can withdraw from alcohol or drugs under close monitoring of experienced medical staff. These trained professionals can intervene at any time if needed. They can prescribe medications to reduce cravings and physical discomfort. Mental health professionals are also available to address any emotional and psychological challenges you experience as you begin your recovery journey.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I do not even know where to begin as it pertains to this facility and the way I ve been treated (or lack there of) through the years. I have chronic acute issues and they consistently discharge me in the worst of shape. A decade later I feel like I could die any day and they have left me with zero hope. Very nasty staff who has put some extremely defamatory biased statements in my notes as well.

I don't care what anyone says. Hackensack hospitals are a money mill. I went into the hospital today with decreased fetal movement, intense vomitting and nasuea, dizzyness, extreme fatigue, upper right quadrant pain and lower abdominal pain. I am 23 weeks pregnant. There first mistake was not swabbing me for preterm labor.I went in at 7 am and got out at 4pm. In those 9 hours all they did was an ultrasound and gave me fluids. I made it clear that I was hungry but couldn't keep anything down.I wasn't given nasuea meds as asked.I wasn't giving a feeding tube or even food at that.I have gallstones and a nurse told me surgical would come down and talk to me and so would on call OB.... 4 HOURS passed and my husband called the nursing desk to see what was taking so long because they don't know how to answer call bells and a nurse told him I was getting discharged. Without seeing an OB and without seeing surgical so they could guide me in the right direction on how to care for my gallstones.5 hours Later here I am in the Lovely Mount Sanai. With lovely nurses and doctors who gave me nothing but amazing care and took every one of my concerns seriously. The first thing this amazing hospital did was check for preterm labor......The test came back positive. I had my baby at 8:09 today July 29th,2024. 1b 4oz. My fighter of a son was sent to picu for further care.If this hospital had listened to my concerns, did what I asked and provided the proper care I wouldn't have had my baby today.Dr Hamma Who claimed they spoke to me and never did. I am coming for your license.Robert Garret & Tim hogan I am taking down your corporation and every single one of your employees that dismissed me today.HUGE SHOUT OUT TO MOUNT SANAI FOR THEIR EXCELLENT AND ABOVE THE MOON CARE.STAY AWAY FROM HACKENSACK THEY ARE A MONEY MILL

I have been a frequent patient, both outpatient and inpatient. All of the doctors, nursing staff, and patient care staff are professional, understanding, caring and I always felt well cared for. Their outpatient PT department is amazing and so is their cardiac rehab.

Too many things wrong be very careful if you go here please read thoroughly if it wasnt for my daughter with me who knows if id be ok or alive. I went to this hospital and had to wait almost 4 hours before I could get a room which wasn't the worst part but their was a man their with a big gash in his head they left him there longer than they did me and he should've been seen faster as he was bleeding from him head with a literal hole in his head and very old and couldn't even walk. This hospital is so dirty when they had finally put me in a room they put me in what looked like a child's room with a private bathroom the sheets smelled funny as if they were already used and they got upset for asking for a blanket yet it was so cold. There was blood in the bathroom on the floor that they never bothered to even clean before having me go to that room. I almost fainted and my daughter had to get the nurse and the nurse had a complete attitude with me as if it was my fault that I didn't feel well but ignored me when I asked to go pee. They knew I was a fall risk but never gave a fall risk bracelet to me which is fine but that can be dangerous and for me it almost was. They left my room a complete mess never bothered to clean up any blood needles or anything they dropped to the floor they left my pee cups all over the floor they dropped the blood pressure cuff on the floor with all the dust and pee cups and expected me to be ok with them putting it back on me. They ran tests on me that never were logged and had to be done over again and never even did it again. I had to repeat tests because they said they were done wrong the first time and needed to be repeated. I think what really grinds my gears is that I called the nurse with the button for an emergency I really needed their help and they didn't come for almost 2&1/2 hours I could've been passed out on the floor and they would've never even known as they took an unbelievably unreasonable amount of time to respond and had an attitude about no longer needing their help as I was taken out of the room for tests and my daughter had been left to respond not to mention my heart rate started going up that the machinestarted going off and turning read and wouldnt stop and they didnt even care to come in and help so my daughter had been left to try and help me and its not her job as she took me to the hospital for their help although she is my caregiver I was in a dangerous state and needed help but they didn't help and seemed to have an attitude when they finally did. They didn't believe any of my concerns until my daughter and I showed video and picture proof to show we was not crazy they didn't let me know of the covid patient I was staying with and could've had the decency to let me know as we was together in the same room which is a big issue... i can understand being in the same floor maybe and obviously in the same hospital but sharing a room while they have no mask and refuse to give me one to protect myself and not have the decency to share that information is an issue. And lastly how is it my fault a nurse gave me bloodwork and poked herself with the needle she used on me and now its somehow my fault and they didnt know until i left yet i asked the nurse who was rushing to even do my blood work if she had gotten poked with the needle and she said no yet hours later not one not to not 3 not four but 5 hours later suddenly realized she got poked with the needle and now i have to go back for blood work over the weekend to see if i have any infections that cluldve been passed over which i dont but really....... The TV didn't work which was ok as that's not why I went to the hospital and shouldnt be a concern but everything seemed to be wrong with the hospital.I really don't think this place even deserves one star but I have no choice but to put at least one star to make a review. I'm not sure which hospital is worth the hackensack in perth amboy hazlet or red bank but please if you go be careful this is a red flag hospital.
