About Recovery Unlimited

Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Recovery Unlimited offers addiction treatment options to those who are battling drug and alcohol addictions. They offer detox services that’re still medically supervised and require medication, but don’t use methadone in their actual treatment. They also offer intensive outpatient and standard outpatient care. I was impressed with how organized their website was and how much detail went into each treatment offering.

Once you’ve successfully detoxed and want to step down to outpatient care, you can take on their intensive outpatient program in order to beat tougher forms of addiction. That’s because their program is twelve weeks long and requires nine hours of treatment per week. It’s more intensive than standard outpatient programs.

They also provide medication management, DUI therapy, trauma treatment, and eye movement desensitization reprocessing, or EMDR. One important thing to note as well is that they do treat those individuals who suffer from co-occurring mental health issues that are coupled with their addiction. If you require residential care, however, you’ll need to be referred to another clinic.

Accepted Insurance

Recovery Unlimited works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Men and women in Colorado have access to customized individual therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction treatment. These sessions explore your life experiences and patterns of substance abuse. Your therapist helps you recognize harmful behaviors and thoughts that empower you to make positive changes for lasting recovery.

During trauma therapy, you explore the impact that a traumatic event has had on your life. Your therapist can help you develop strategies to manage the emotional and physical symptoms while improving emotional regulation. This improves your overall quality of life.

Based on the couple's needs, couples therapy may take different forms. Your therapist will probably take an integrated approach, using techniques from several methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic couple's therapy. The goal is to work through challenges and strengthen your relationship.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

During family therapy sessions, family members in Colorado work with therapists to understand addiction as a disease that has affected the entire family. This approach fosters empathy and reduces blame on any one member. Promoting this collective effort helps to support the recovery process.

Recovery Unlimited is the best place to get clean and to recover from any substance abuse problem. I went there a few years ago, and I can say thanks to them. I'm sober today, and I'm planning to be sober tomorrow!

Most unprofessional people I ve ever met. I went here twice a week every week for 20 months. And then they discharged me for no reason while I was on a trip that they knew about and never communicated with me before discharging to ask if everything was okay and we are discharging you for X reason. They don t care about clients at all. They constantly I mean constantly would do something with my case without ever communicating with me or trying to even call. And they always LIE LIE and say oh we did call you I promise. Like in this day and age there s ever any missing calls that I wouldn t have access to in my phone. Bunch of liars here. Just in it for government grant money.

I have had 2 really great therapists here Dom and Joseph they both were incredibly supportive and all around amazing. My only issue with recovery unlimited is that it doesn t matter how many UAs you pass they will always make you do 4 a month/1 a week. Before it would decrease the more clean ones you have now it doesn t matter you will always do 4 a month.

Response from the owner7 months ago
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The intention is that as long as a person is providing clean UAs and is not bound by referring contact, the amount of UAs should decrease over time. We will take this seriously and talk about making changes if possible

My therapist left here. This place has gone down hill. The medical side for med management has always been poor. The therapists are the real stars and why I kept coming. Medication management is horrible here. If you are in a position of power over if someone is functioning or not on their medications that should be taken seriously and handled with the best care possible. I am a single mother with almost zero funds yet each time all they care about is pushing for in person appointments. Why would I waste my time coming down there to not be listened to. My daughter withdrawled from the Zoloft when born which I was never supposed to be on in the first place. Last two years because I "breastfed" there were no "options really" to help me manage my mania. No one calls if you miss a appointment but tell me how do I manage my appointments if my mania isnt being managed ? First psych put me on the wrong medication and now I'm not being managed at all and then suggested to put me back on the medication the first the one they wrongly put me on. I don't feel listened to , and I hope they aren't doing this to other people who are medication dependent. The majority of homeless and prison population is because of mis medication management. I will never refer anyone to this place . When my therapist left here I should have as well for psych and went somewhere different. Now I have been unstable on my medicine for two years and had impacted my life severely.
