Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

bed-front iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

house-medical iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

house-medical iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

house iconSober Living Homes

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

hospital iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

clipboard-medical iconMedically Assisted Detox

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Couples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapeutic modality originally developed to help process trauma. In an EMDR session, a patient is prompted to undergo eye movements that mimic those of REM sleep. This is accomplished by watching a therapist's finger move back and forth across, or following a bar of light. The goal is repetitive sets of eye movements that help the brain reprocess memory, which can significantly reduce the intensity of remembered traumatic incidents. Associated memories can heal simultaneously, leaving patients significantly calmer, more stable, and more emotionally relaxed.

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life Skills

While in rehab treatment, you may work on developing various life skills to help you in long term recovery. These may include resilience, interpersonal skills, and self awareness. The focus will be on developing healthy habits for self care and relationships so you have the skills you need to manage day to day life.

As a clinician in the field of mental health, I highly recommend the treatment modalities and clinical vision of Dr. Darsa, her team and Reconnect treatment center as a whole. Reconnect provides highly comprehensive and competent treatment around trauma and many other mental health conditions. Working with Dr. Darsa and her team has been nothing short of seamless, professional and ethical.

Please do yourself or your loved one a favor and seek help from a reputable, qualified mental health treatment center. The housing is far from safe and secure housing. The therapy and "trauma treatment" will give you trauma. The therapists are not qualified to do this kind of work. Please get help from one of the many other centers in the country.

The living space they provide is horrible. Horrible enough to make me question their clinical abilities. There s no sense of community, just money grabbing. Do notgo here if you want to speak about trauma, or show any anger. They ll take your money, and kick you out.

I've been at a few facilities... and Recconect was the first place I felt safe and comfortable and able to open myself up to treatment. The staff are so kind and caring. They are understanding and flexible. Whether you're in the center or the clinic, the treatment plan is focused on the individual. You meet your primary therapist four times a week, which is way more than most places. The staff are open to suggestions and they welcome feedback. The supportive living home is set up beautifully and can be a safe place to relax after an intense day of deep work. I gave 4 stars not 5, because they were sort of still figuring out the house, which was newly set up. Which for me, meant no ac or oven in the beginning and really bad phone service and wifi. Also, it meant that the rules and protocols were still being set up. Which left me confused when they started enforcing certain rules suddenly which resulted in my discharge from the program.I would still recommend Reconnect asan awesome program with a unique combination of modalities, including emdr, parts work, brainspotting, gestalt, somatic, sensory motor, art therapy, yoga, and so much more. For someone who feels they have tried it all and feels done with cbt and dbt and behavioral modalities and now wants to focus on actually healing, healing on the inside doing real deep hard work; Reconnect may be the right place.

The clinicians at Reconnect are above and beyond- qualified, compassionate, consistent. However the system and center as a whole is set up for the wealthy/upperclass. You will reconnect to your body and heal from trauma IF you have the financial means. We all know trauma doesn t discriminate and if anything it is the most vulnerable who are impacted. The program is person centered until money becomes involved. Know if you get COVID or just have COVID symptoms you (understandably) cannot come into program until you are negative. Yet they will still charge you for the two days missed (thousands of dollars depending on which level you are in). The 48 hour cancellation policy doesn t take emergencies or the GLOBAL pandemic into consideration. 48 hour cancellation policy is totally fair outside of a pandemic and when you have an actual doctor s note stating you are sick and cannot attend. Quite literally you could be losing over two months rent and be at risk of a housing crisis due to this policy. The grievance process is slow, round about, and only looked at from a financial stand point until they realize you truly don t have the means then they will cut you a deal for financial hardship- which still results in a hefty bill. Dr. Darsa will make sure you know that she is busy and has her own clients and will be bothered by the inconvenience of your grievance.Intake will make sure you know if you are getting a deal as a single case agreement and continue to remind you of that each time you have a financial question as if you should be grateful for their deal. Dr. Darsa s book is complimentary upon intake until you leave and they charge you for it. Really disappointing as the treatment is above and beyond but access to the treatment is for the privileged.
