The receptionist seemed to care more about my life than my therapist. It didn t feel like I was talking to a therapist, it felt like I was arguing with a stubborn stranger. Said I didn t like religious talks or political talks so I switched from the first woman I met there because she refused not to talk about religion with me. I stayed with another guy for a few years and it was fine up until a few months ago where I said I wasn t comfortable with certain political topics or things about my sexuality and he completely disregarded my boundaries. Would really only recommend to someone that is comfortable being beat down every time they come to someone for help.

I attended an appointment with Linda R and was really disappointed at the lack of knowledge and professionalism. I did share that I would expect she do a proper evaluation and offer ways to help (actual practical solutions or exercises). Instead, she started talking about how my child's behavior is due to the fact that we are a bilingual family. When I told her there is little evidence of this and my other two kids are fine, she then mentioned that the issue is due to the fact that I "Now" work from home. When I told her that I have worked from home ever since my child was born 9 years ago, she was puzzled. Then she said that my kid is afraid of school because we have made the home environment TOO NICE (I wonder which psychology text this is taught at). So pretty much just blaming us parents for the situation. What do I do, make our home not nice??? It seems that this lady is looking to find any random reason she can think of (unsupported by research), blame the situation on parents, without offering either a proper evaluation/diagnosis or solutions.

Accepted Insurance

Preferred Care Counseling works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

My experience at Preferred Care Counseling has been truly life-changing. I had been through three other therapists before discovering Preferred Care. They have top-notch practitioners who CARE. I recommend them to anyone I talk to when it comes up in conversation. Ru and Larry are amazing!!!

I had An appointment at 10 AM Saturday morning I called and told them that I would be about 10 minutes late they said that it would be fine I ended up getting there at 24 after the receptionist said they couldn't see me because I was 30 minutes past my appointment I ended up driving in an hour so I wasted all that gas for nothing when they could have told me on the phone when I called the 1st time to let them know it's gonna be 10 minutes late B was my counselor but I will never see another counselor at preferred care. Now I get a bill. In? The mail for 30? Dollars from them canceling the appointment when they could have told me that if I was late more than fifteen minutes that the appointment would be have medicaid.

My therapist has been insightful, helpful, and great at helping me set goals for myself, and deal with both long term and more urgent issues.

So it started out great me and my wife attending regularly and out therapist would seem stand off ish when I spoke come to find out on the last session she split me and my wife up. Tells me she s terrible at communicating and tells her I m a narcissist. Which if I am so be it that s why I m seeking help, and I m no therapist but seems off to me she would tell the one she labeled a poor communicator that the other was a narcissist instead of just..telling me herself . How did she think that would get communicated to me? My guess would be poorly but again hey what do I know? If I could rate 0 stars I would. Wouldn recommend this highly unprofessional establishment to anyone

My initial counselor Misty was very nice and did provide some helpful tactics. Unfortunately she left the practice and I wasn t notified until I called to schedule an appointment which did upset me. I was put with someone new, a very young girl who offered absolutely nothing. No strategies, exercises, ways to reframe situations, nothing. I even asked for things I could read or watch to help me through and she said she d have to think about it. I said you have no suggestions at all? Not like journaling or anything? And she said yes, journaling, that s a good idea. (!) Also when I told her I was having suicidal ideations, she told me to honor my thoughts. WHAT? Who tells someone that.

Went here for counseling and the therapist forgot my husbands name and this was the 3rd week we spent with her. She was very harsh at times which is fine but sometimes it seemed argumentative, judgemental, and unprofessional. Also, I don t believe she took any notes as she did not remember some very important facts about our lives after spending a few weeks with us. I m not saying she has to remember every detail but it was like we were just meeting for the first time every single session. She would keep revisiting the same topics over and over and over even though the problems were already addressed and resolved in previous sessions and we moved passed it. It was pretty bad that my husband and I had to redirect her at times to move on from something. I would not recommend this place.
