Medical briefcase icon Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. PA Counseling offer intensive outpatient therapy for drug and alcohol abuse. The program is available for adults and adolescents.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

couples-therapy iconCouples Therapy

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Eating Disorder Treatment

Eating disorders include anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and dysfunctional eating patterns. Many psychologists and other mental health professionals consider eating disorders to be food addictions, meaning food is being used in an addictive way (similar to drug or alcohol addiction). Certain substance abuse treatment programs will have treatment for eating disorders as one of the services offered. PA Counseling offers specialized treatment for eating disorders, the treatment includes group and/or individual sessions.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

recreational-therapy iconRecreational Therapy

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

I have been coming here for years now and I couldn't ask for a better councilor. She has been with me through so many things and has helped with everyone. I highly recommend this location.

Counseling was going perfectly fine until my counselor had to leave the organization abruptly (for completely valid reasons I will say, no criticism for that). The problem was didn't arrange a proper replacement. She only gave me the option of telehealth, which I told her beforehand I wasn't comfortable with or call the company in a month and see if they have an opening (my phone has bad reception, so not a realistic option). She also suggested I was doing so well, I could be discharged, which is ludicrous and, quite frankly, made me question her qualifications and feel like I had been pouring my problems out to someone who wasn't actually listening to a word I said. Very disappointing end to a course I treatment I had been very hopeful about.

Completely incompetent and corrupt. There's no money in finding someone doesn't need their "services" or "follow up" if you're court ordered, so they make stuff up. The money is not in the "evaluation", it's in the "come back". And if you call them out, you're in denial. Hire your OWN professional. Then you won't be slandered and libeled to a court. And labeled for LIFE. Do you ever find anyone that does NOT need your "help". Doubtful.

(I request a hire up contact info for a meeting about this)I was sent here from rehab. I drove 40 minutes a week, they assured me that York area was booked out indefinitely and for 5 months i went here. Today i call the york one, and they say they only book out 4 weeks in advance... So i tried to schedule one for the week.. and they told me im placed on a "do not schedule list" or something of that nature... Now let me tell you something. You wanna offer support and this public image, and DENY me treatment? MIND you i was paying more and more every week for this until i stopped going. And you guys never moved me to york... just a cash grab it sounds like to me!Leave me a hire up call number, no receptionist or anyone else. I want the head honcho of the Lancaster city location!

If you weren't depressed and suicidal before going here you certainly will be after you see certain therapists. I've been going to therapy on and off for over 40 years. Because of the experience I had here I will never do therapy again. If you really want someone to help you please go somewhere else.
