I am JUST TO START OFF!!! Thank you to the doctor that said it s ok ( because he did research and that it s fine to miss a dose of psych meds because of missing MY PSYCH meds- I am fully triggered.. I have been crying and I am angry.. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!! When I got home from BJC from a 29 hour stay.. I was waiting to go to Barnes in the city. Everything was wonderful until I decided I wanted to leave. A nurse this morning pretty much was telling me how I cannot take my psych meds because they were not ordered for me after being in the Emergency Room for over 24 hours at that point. His name was Brian and he told me that I could not get my psych meds. He ruined my whole stay and I only saw a doctor one time until I said that I wanted to leave. If they would have kept me informed about my status and transport to St Louis and given me my meds, I would have been fine and would probably be getting the surgery which I desperately need. Since I left my mental health has been spiraling.. I will say the other nurses WERE AMAZING!! If you don t know how to speak with people and be empathetic.. maybe you shouldn t be a nurse..the ONLY reason I have 4 stars is because the other nurses worked their asses off. JUST THE NURSES!!! And then you get blackballed because they re ALWAYS right.. they need to take the time and understand where the patient is coming from and of course because you stick up for yourself.. you re the problem!! I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE NOT CARING!! It s happening more and more in healthcare to be sure this isn t what I grew up with..WHO ARE WE SUPPOSED TO TRUST?

Accepted Insurance

Parkland Health Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab enables clients to continue to work, attend school, or reside at home while undergoing treatment, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Evening, night, and weekend sessions are available at many facilities to ensure continuous access to care on the client's schedule. Many centers also offer ancillary services, such as career coaching and peer mentoring, to promote clients' sustained recovery and community integration. Higher-level outpatient treatment, including intensive outpatient (IOP) care, is also widely available.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I would not bring an animal here and I should have known never to bring my daughter here after all the conversations about this hospital. The nursing staff could care less about patients and only keep you here to get the insurance money. You have to be kept 4 hours before Medicaid pays for anything. These "care providers" see individuals as money, as evidenced by the nurses sitting behind a computer and joking around with each other loudly instead of tending to the patients. Poor excuse for a hospital and nursing staff.

Would give negative stars if I could.. I spent the last 5 as here with my 8 year old crying and screen pain and this place didn't do a damn thing for her. Absolutely nothing!!! They damn near killed my father in law a few months ago he was literally on deaths door the entire time they were in the er and he never seen a dr bc he was a vet and they said he needed a special doctor or some stupid crap. This hospital is HORRIBLE and needs shut down! This is the 4th or 5th time they have been this terrible and I won't be back at all. Wo t refer anyone here ever.

Went in for a hyper-extended knee. I can't come close to walking and the pain ranges from an 8-10. They did an x-ray and said I was fine. I knew it was too much pain to be fine. I went to an orthopedic who took an x ray and immediately noticed the break. I was shown the image and the break was so obvious it was like someone took a marker and drew a line across. I'm not sure how Parkland missed this.

Would leave 0 stars if I could. I went here extremely sick and with a lot of internal pain, Parkland did an ultrasound on me, told me my gallbladder was super enlarged and would need to be removed so they sent to Mercy for surgery. When I got to Mercy they informed me there was nothing wrong with my gallbladder and it was actually my liver which was enlarged because I got mono. This place almost had me go through a life altering surgery to remove something that was perfectly fine. Understaffed, clueless staff, I beg you all to go anywhere else this place will do more harm than good

To whomever it may concern: on Saturday July 13th 2024, I was exposed to discrimination and medical neglect by the staff at Parkland Medical Center in Farmington Missouri.Between the hours of 2:00pm and 4:00pm, my partner and I entered the Emergency Room entrance so that I could be seen and treated for both Classic and Exertion Heatstroke. Heatstroke is a clear medical emergency and has a high likelihood of death.Upon looking at me, the nurses in attendance assumed that I was not in any danger and deemed me a "drug user" or "drug seeker."This decision was clear to me based on their speech and mannerisms. While being triaged, my partner, who was speaking for me as I was near unconsciousness, was abruptly cut off and they demanded I speak and answer questions. The questions they asked me specifically pertained to whether or not I used drugs or were on drugs. They handed me a specimen cup and told me to go back into the waiting room to pee in the cup. (I was physically unable to do so due to the extreme muscle cramps that accompany Heatstroke.) The individual handing me the cup said, and I quote, "Don't worry if you don't have to pee right now. We will make sure to get it from you before you can leave."While taking my Blood Pressure and Oxygen, another nurse was witnessed laughing at my plight and rolling her eyes, as if I was being dramatic, by my partner. These actions immediately made the both of us feel unsafe in the presence of the staff. I felt bullied, threatened, and discriminated against based strictly on my appearance. We decided that it would be in my best interest to not be seen by this hospital and to leave immediately. We were discharged sans recommendation against such actions as is proper protocol.By putting a drug test before care and treatment, my right to dignity and proper human care were utterly neglected.Due to this incident, I will be filing a complaint under the Missouri Human Rights Act with the MCHR.

Went in at 4:30 pm for abdominal pain, got blood work done. blood work came back fine, but they said they wanted to do a ultra sound and so I waited for a ultrasound for 6 hours only to be sent home and told to come back tomorrow.

This place is not a patient friendly place. The real problem is the overpriced services, which are assumed relevant because they offer services as an emergency service provider. The cost for service was absurd; underwhelming services also. Left with a $3000.00 plus bill and no actual diagnosis. They did provide some generic medication to offset whatever was happening. Do not recommended to go to Parkland Health Center unless it is your absolute only option, or you're transported there in an ambulance. I would avoid this place is what I mean to say.
