I came here for a program required by state, was told no group wait but then they told me there was a long group wait and I could only do the 1:1 sessions meanwhile. This postponed the program for the state. I asked for a specialized 1:1 given my diagnosis and was told there was someone, they scheduled before checking with my insurance and got my hopes up.a few months later my phone was out of commission and my wife called to inquire for an appointment. She was under the impression they would call me to confirm but they did not. I ended up not knowing I had an appointment and was charged. I was then discharged for noncompliance but I was actively seeing them. Would not recommend unprofessional don't recommend

My therapist was fantastic and helped me quite a bit. Unfortunately she only took Medicaid so I had to switch once I started Medicare. My current therapist is great, mind you. I just had seen the previous therapist for years and that built a lot of trust that is hard to come by. I feel like the office staff is really on top of things and always called me when there was an issue. Good place in my opinion.

Places like these should help people better their lives. It's hard when you have to pay 200 for a session that you must take twice a month. Then you get put in a group session which is 100 a week every week. Personally, I don't think it helps at all knowing people have to eat and pay bills. I feel like it's all for money. You can't help anyone by causing them to suffer financially.

Accepted Insurance

Oakwood Clinical Associates works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

The only reason why I don't give 1 out of 10 to Oakwood is because of the receptionist they have. She was very kind and caring but the rest of people working here are people who should not work helping people in need.

Started out with Nyles, very nice but due to some of my issues it was hard to talk to him. Then started seeing Kris, and still see her. Really like her, feel more relaxed talking about my issues. Doing much better with my depression, not as bad. Anxiety is still an issue we're working on.Been seeing Kris Jerry for 3 years. Come June 1,2023, will be my last time seeing her as she is moving on to doing counseling at her own place in IL.,. June 8th, I will be going back to seeing Nyles again.Cindy

Office staff is wonderful. Therapist fell asleep, or seemed to fall asleep, during some sessions. Decided to add group therapy, but didn t know it was going to be $40 a week, on top of my regular visits. Group therapy was hard, as it required you taking responsibility for everything that happened in your life (not being a victim). Group had to decide if you were ready for the next step, or if you had to repeat it based on your answers. It was too much. I m not going to say I didn t learn a few things about myself, but overall, it made me more anxious and emotional.

The therapist that I worked with was great but no longer works at this office (thankfully). I was told that my insurance would cover my visits and that everything was verified however that was not the case. I understand that sometimes things get mixed up with insurance and was very reasonable when they called me with a very large bill as I had already had several visits. There were still outstanding claims on my file so we agreed that they would call me back with my final bill and to set up a payment plan. They never called me back with my final bill and simply sent me to collections. When I called back to explain the situation the receptionist and assistant to director, Jeannette, was very dismissive, did not apologize for their mistake, and simply told me that they deleted my file and she has no access to any information about me at this point. I m very disappointed with how they handled the situation and would warn anyone against coming here.

Ah, well let me add to the bad reviews. So, because of a miscommunication with my therapist I was taken off of her schedule without notice. The receptionist was rude to me about it, because she didn't understand what I thought I had set up with therapist. I feel as though my therapist pressured me back into MRT but didn't tell me I wouldn't be doing one on ones anymore which I was not ready for. Now I'm left with more anxiety and no help. Kind of nervous about reaching out to another facility now as well. Thanks Oakwood :)

If you use insurance, do not go to this location. Great therapist but office will not work with insurance company to provide correct billing code in order for the therapist to be paid. I understand insurance is not straightforward but when I have all the information that the insurance company is requesting (the insurance company reached out as well and did not get a call back) and Oakwood is refusing to do anything with the account. This has been going on for weeks and now my loved one is in a critical situation AND the therapist that has helped him SO much is not being paid for their work. My loved one has called multiple times to give them the exact information needed and is getting nowhere. Please feel free to reach out to me if you care to discuss further. I would love for you to have the opportunity to defend your actions or lack thereof.
