outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

12-step icon12-Step

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Nutrition Therapy

Substance abuse leads to poor dietary choices and vitamin deficiencies. To address these issues, many drug rehab programs in Minnesota include nutrition therapy. You'll learn about the right foods to eat to support recovery and develop a plan for long term success.

I am currently doing the Adult SA outpatient treatment via zoom and it has been a great and life changing experience. In the last 12 weeks, I have gotten more from this group of counselors and peers than I have in years. I'm grateful for Nystrom and the services they provide to individuals remotely and in person. I highly recommend.

I was supposed to have an appointment at 8am with Jacynte Demarco. After waiting in the waiting room for 30 minutes, I decided to finally leave the appointment. It s beyond frustrating that after finally working up the courage to seek help, no one showed up. I also had to take time off work to attend. It s extremely disappointing.I will definitely be seeking therapy elsewhere.

This place needs to be investigated for fraud. They insist on monthly virtual appointments that last fifteen minutes or they cancel your prescriptions. Then they charge outrageous prices. Completely Unethical.

They've taken the time needed to really get to know me so they can figure out what my diagnosis is. When I talk to them weekly or monthly , whichever the case may be I really feel like I am talking to my friends.

Hello Robin, Thank you so much for the positive review. We are so glad to hear that you are happy with the care you received.

They shut down the DBT program half way through, and then had the audacity to charge us for a missed appointment. So they get paid in full for DBT therapy that they didn't fully provide, but we have to shell out $118 for a missed appointment.Give me a break. Alissa Christenson, the therapist, is the one who charged us for the missed appointment. Now we've been turned over to a collections agency. For $118. Absolutely hilarious. It will be a cold day in hell before I pay one penny of that bill.Update: In response to the response from Nystrom below, we DID request to waive the fee. It WAS reviewed. It was denied. Absolutely ridiculous. As for the "other options", we were not given any reasonable options. We were told we could go to another location thirty minutes away. You guys are the *WORST*We will *NEVER* pay. Not in a million years.

Response from the owner5 months ago
Hello Barry, We are sorry to hear about your negative experience. Patients who were impacted by the DBT change in Otsego were given other options to receive care. When patients miss or no show appointments and if they request to waive a fee we assess all requests for waiving fees. If a balance goes to collections these bills will need to be resolved with the collections agency. If you have any further questions please reach out to otsegomanagers@nystromcounseling.com.
