I had a terrible experience here. I was in a car accident. I was very confused. I know I had a huge bump on the head and could barely stand. I was hoping to leave and be okay, but I really was not. They gave me strong meds that made me even more loopy and after telling me my back was fractured in 3 places, they dumped me in a waiting room. I had been asking for a drink. I never got one. I needed to go to the bathroom twice in the 3 hrs I was stuck there. The doors were too heavy for me in my state. They didn't even have a back brace for me. I could buy a soda, but couldn't bend over to get it out of the machine! My back is busted and they dumped me in a room for hours. On the way home my breast started swelling huge. I didn't realize I had seat belt injuries. It's been 8 days and my head still has a lump and breast is still black. It's a good thing I was not even worse. They didn't do nearly enough to be sure I was okay. I've since found out many woman lose a breast to seatbelt injuries and they didn't even know or check.

Accepted Insurance

Memorial Health System works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

The over all clinic is nice from my experience. The walk in is pretty legit. I ve got for light pain normal pain and various other things. The front desk people are nice nurses are pretty good too.Ok here comes the ER experience Nicole Betz and a few other nurses I trust. I m only 22 and I m divorced left a very bad situation. Was told I come to much a few months ago by Ashly Doering I have respect for nurses but if you don t like your job and I was also medicated cause my anxiety was killing me I was also trying to get help with stuff. My BF called at the time and he s one of the few on my Hippa and they didn t talk to him or tell him he could come. If you have ptsd and are there for ANY reasons you should atleast have visitors. Even if it s limited. I will not be under the care of Ashly doering. You re better to have Nicole Betz and Bri as your nurses.i looked at my health portal. Doesn t keep up with her autistic services have you ever heard of the broken system I contact them all the time for them to ghost me or say not yet. This has been the Viscious cycle. Nicole and Bri and acouple other nurses are legit. Ashly was talking about my ex husband who was extremely abusive. I am stuck in a town where my ex husband lives less than a mile where I live at. She said I come here to much burn bridges when I was trying to heal. I took fault in my own actions with being told she s blaming everyone but herself so not true. I bend over backwards with my communication and try to cope and make my phone calls but this over doing it makes me sick to my stomach. I m done with Abilene ER. Walk in clinic not bad. The only downside is I was still debating using birth control for the first time I had the bc pils prescribes but my insurance had a glitch . Now that my insurance is working I m going to try to get back on the pills instead of the nexplanon. I ve had a period for over 2 weeks and been in extreme pain. I feel pretty good rn but the ER I would never. Like these other reviews I d reccomend JC or somewhere else. Just to be on the safe side if you do go to Abilene ER I just hope you get Nicole or Bri there suppopppper nice people there s acouple more that are ok and the other ones don t look like they want to work there

Anne in reservations contacted me through the hospital phone or bat phone? Asked for my info for registering and we got to the part where it asked for insurance and I said unfortunately not. She responded "of course not why would you??" Honestly I had to wonder if that waa racially motivated. Had a nurse argue with me about getting a 25k bill here because they're doing life saving stuff here..... Anyway I will say the 2 nurses were nice initally until I didn't do what they wanted and were rude to me afterwards. I wouldn't recommend this ER to people like me. Better off In junction city stormontvail.

Radiology (mammography and ultra sound) : Welcoming, Suppotive, Professional, and Knowledgeable. From Reception, through Radiologisty results, I was invited into a caring discussion rather than a dictation. I highly recommend MHS's "Breast Exam" services.

I had to come to the hospital for altitude sickness. I was treated with kindness and respect. The doctor I saw and the nurses helped to ease my anxiety and talked me through every step they took. I am appreciative and would return.
