About MAAC – Nosotros

MAAC–Nosotros is a 12 Step focused addiction recovery home for adult men in Chula Vista, California. They offer residential programs, aftercare planning and support, and dual diagnosis care. Their primary treatment modalities include individual, group, and family counseling. They also prioritize recovery oriented life skills, including relapse prevention, self care, coping, wellness, parenting, and vocational training.

The residential program offers a safe, comfortable, and highly structured environment for men who have completed detox and immersive inpatient programs but who are not yet ready for outpatient or aftercare services. You’ll be asked to commit to residency for at least six months to become fully integrated into their treatment program. The recovery home allows you to continue to cultivate their sobriety while also developing skills needed to thrive in their own homes and communities.

In addition to rigorous individual, group, and family therapy, their program emphasizes addiction education and life skills development. Holistic treatments, such as meditation and mindfulness, are offered alongside evidence based therapies. Residents actively work on attaining and maintaining employment and/or pursuing their education. Family reintegration is also emphasized, with parenting courses and couples counseling available. You’ll also learn household and financial management skills, including undertaking recovery home household chores as a condition of residence.

They promote sustained sobriety through a robust continuum of care. This includes substantive aftercare planning and transitional support as clients step down from residential care to an outpatient program. Services may include induction into a community based 12 Step program in the client’s hometown, as well as social services referrals to assist with housing, mental and physical healthcare, employment, education, legal aid, food, and related concerns.

Participants are required to have Medi-Cal insurance. They must also have a substance use disorder diagnosis. If referrals are made to outside providers for supportive services, those entities may accept most forms of commercial insurance. Out of network benefits may vary, so contact your provider to check your coverage.

Accepted Insurance

Our Policy: MAAC – Nosotros works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact us to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Sober living houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. MAAC is a culturally-sensitive residential community designed for men who are seeking for a structured, supported environment in which they can overcome addiction. Nosotros Recovery Home functions as a last chance for hope, for those who substance abuse may left them unemployed, disconnected from family and friends or homeless.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety. During their stay, residents have access to community resources such as vocational training, food vouchers, continuing education and housing.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.
