This place is very rough edged. I've had problems with staff lying about what they do until I provided proof and it got escalated the director. They do mean well, just not a professional organization. And the worst is the phones. Listen....If you are suffering and need help they WILL help you but you very likely will not be able to get in touch with them over the phone. They just don't answer them, the receptionist leaves the desk at every opportunity. It's a small place and everyone wanders around gossiping. I called this place out of sheer desperation after trying to admitted to several hospitals. Showing up to their ER rooms as per their instructions and being turned away because I would not say that I was suicidal. Anyway. I could not get in touch with them, tried over and over. Imagine someone in the dark depths of addiction calling an addiction facility and they just plain don't pick up. I finally called the Mount Kisco location and explained my situation. After ten minutes on hold they got me in touch with someone at this Peekskill location. SO CALL THE MT KISCO NUMBER IF YOU CAN'T GET THROUGH. Don't give up. Mt. Kisco is their headquarters and a much nicer and professional place. Again, CALL MT KISCO and let them help you get through. I did it my first time and a couple of times since then. This place will help you once you can speak with them. Just call HQ.

Accepted Insurance

Lexington Center for Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs provide a space for clients to focus exclusively on their recovery while receiving intensive supervision and support. Inpatient treatment centers provide housing and food and most offer round-the-clock clinical care. Their primary treatment modalities typically consist of addiction counseling using various psychotherapeutic methods, including CBT, DBT, RBT, and motivational interviewing. Many rehabs also provide specialized services for clients with co-occurring addiction and mental illness. Recovery-focused life skills training and holistic therapies are other common services.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in rehab aftercare programs receive a customized portfolio of services designed to promote their sustained sobriety. These clients have completed high-level treatment, are typically exiting detox and/or intensive inpatient care and are reintegrating into their home, workplace, and community. Rehab aftercare services address addiction disease as a chronic condition requiring continuing care. Clients typically work with case managers and recovery teams to access necessary resources, such as peer coaching and 12 step program induction support.
12-step icon12-Step
Participants in 12 step programs maintain access to community-based peer support, which is the programs' primary treatment modality. 12 step recovery combines personal growth with paper coaching. Participants regularly attend group meetings, which are free, anonymous, open to the public, and available multiple times per day in most communities. They are also mentored by self-selected sponsors who guide them through the steps of recovery. Age and gender specific and other specialized formats are common.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New York is a short term therapeutic method used to treat substance use and mental health disorders. CBT typically lasts from five to 20 sessions, based on the individual's needs.

During dialectical behavior therapy in New York, you and your therapist will look for triggers and patterns that are guiding your emotions. This involves keeping a diary of your emotions and situations and sharing this each week with the therapist. This information will determine what you work on in each session.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Introduced in 1983, motivational interviewing is a method to help clients commit to change. It's based on the philosophy that change is hard, and clients must explore their own options and come to their own conclusions rather than receive warnings or advice from the therapist.

Trauma therapy involves working through the psychological and emotional impact of a traumatic event. You learn to identify the triggers and develop coping mechanisms that build a sense of safety and trust in yourself.

Been going here 3 years. Some of these bad reviews are ridiculous. My whole first year I gave dirty drug test every single time with no consequences other the. Being checked on in a compassionate manner. This is the only reason I am clean today. I was able to do it on my own terms. And I have been to dozens of other treatment facility s and clinics. Not a single one worked. I owe my life to the people as well as my gf who has about three years clean from these people. Addicts don t need to be in a cage just a hand to hold as we figure out life.

I loved this place and just about everyone in there from the counselors to deb (the director) to the rest of the staff and the doc. But when a tox came back with stuff i have never done i asked for them to get that urine retested (they have to by law if requested) but instead of doing that they took all my take home bottles away and don't care and I've actually been doing great for a bit. A clinic should not have a person feel like saying screw it and make them actually want to relapse! That was b.s to say the least! I'm done, fed up and going elsewhere. And that sucks because I really love almost everyone who works there but that was the last straw. I use to love it there! What a shame.

Have been going to Peekskill clinic for over 3 years. You wouldn t even know it was a methadone clinic from first seeing it or pulling up to it. My counselor is great!!! I m usually in and out unless I have to see doctor or counselor and still that doesn t take long.

I would give no stars if I could. Its amazing that this place is still running, considering the illegal practices they overtly engage in. They don't do HIPAA here.. If you truly value your treatment, I suggest you look elsewhere. I did, and within 6 months, I transitioned off of methadone, and have been living a normal life. It's amazing how much you can achieve in the right environment. The Lexington Center is TRASH.

The clinic is one of the best clinics out there if you want to get clean. My son went there and the only place that helped.

Ignore the negative reviews on here. The only people that have anything bad to say about this place are the people that are still using drugs & aren't staying clean. This is the only clinic I've ever been to that actually cares about us addicts and truly wants to help us. Christine is a fabulous counselor & Trish and LaTosha are great nurses. If you need help getting off heroin or other opiates, definitely try to come here.

If you care about your loved ones health please don't send them here. Please contact me via Facebook if you'd like information or help on where to send your loved ones in need of help. I had a horrible experience time after time with this facility and the unprofessional staff they employ. They give patients no say in their treatment plan, they'll treat you as a criminal the moment one of their tox screens comes back with a false positive. Most of their patients have been here 10+ years and will be hooked forever.. the facility is fine with that.. money is money i guess...Steer clear. If you ignore the warnings and decide to come here please request any counselor other then Tiffany. The Dept of Health is currently conducting an investigation on Lexington center for Recovery.
