About Lenape Valley Foundation

The Lenape Valley Foundation provides clients in Doylestown, Pennsylvania with outpatient treatment services for co-occurring disorders and substance abuse. For adults who are struggling and may also be concerned about substance abuse, their Braun Acute Partial Hospital Program offers a comprehensive, day to day short term treatment plan with therapeutic support. This program is offered from Monday to Friday. To preserve vital ties to their friends, family, and community people return home in the evenings.

Based on the needs of each patient, the average length of treatment is two to four weeks. If needed, free transportation is offered. Most major health insurance plans, Medical Assistance, and Health Choices are accepted by the program. They provide comprehensive community-based treatment through the evidence based, well known Assertive Community

Treatment ACT model which is offered nationwide.
Through the process of locating, obtaining, and maintaining the resources and services required to live successfully in the community individuals and families are supported through their blended case management program. These services are offered voluntarily and come after a thorough assessment.

They also provide distinctive forensic services. They evaluate adult and juvenile offenders. They offer dialectical behavior therapy for adults and teens ages 14 to 17. Experts in mental health who have a thorough understanding of the criminal justice system, treatment alternatives, and community resources related to behavioral health disorders make up their forensic response team.

Their outpatient department can help you or a loved one address chemical dependency concerns and many others. They provide group, family, and individual counseling. Their nurse practitioners and psychiatrists are on hand to assess if a client needs medication to prescribe it and to keep an eye on how the client is responding to it.

The goal of their transitional outpatient program is to stabilize and resolve mental health and drug dependency issues. It is more intensive than standard outpatient services. For adult clients who do not need the intensive level of psychiatric care offered by inpatient or partial hospitalization programs this level of care is specifically available.

Need to care more about the patients. Communication is lacking from Doctor to patient. A lot of new rules in relation to the out of state appointments. Apparently they are no longer available. Staff is incredibly rude. They should stop hiring patients to work there. Too many depressed angry people there. No one wants to help. God awful place.

Hi, Kevin. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the services that you have received. Timely and clear communication with clients is of the utmost importance to us. If you'd like to email us privately at info@lenapevf.org with more specifics, we'd be happy to reach out to you. Privacy issues prevent us from discussing your personal situation on a public forum. Thank you. Kevin, as a follow-up to your concerns, we'd like to provide this information. Early in the Public Health Emergency, rules and regulations regarding providing telehealth services were lifted by payers and governmental entities to remove barriers for people to access care. As time goes on, some of those regulations are no longer lifted. At this time, to provide telehealth services to someone even temporarily in another state, the individual clinician would have to be licensed in that other state. These regulations are made by state governments and are beyond the control of Lenape Valley.

I have not had any issues with LVF at all since I started therapy a couple months ago. I adore my therapist, and during our sessions, I have learned about other resources available to me if I choose to explore them, like a social worker. I take care of an elderly parent and it's overwhelming sometimes. So far, I'm very happy with my care at Lenape.

Mark, thank you for your five-star review. We're so happy to hear that you have had a positive experience at LVF! Best wishes for continued success and good health.

Accepted Insurance

Lenape Valley Foundation works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides clients with an opportunity to focus solely on their sobriety away from the stressors of the home and workplace. Clients receive housing, food, and intensive clinical supervision. They also typically engage in multiple addiction counseling sessions each week, including daily individual, group, and/or family sessions. Most programs also prioritize recovery-focused life skills training, including courses in relapse prevention. Many facilities offer evidence-based holistic therapies, such as yoga and meditation.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services bring extensive experience to the planning and conducting of drug interventions in Pennsylvania. These experts can facilitate interventions in a sensitive manner that encourages positive outcomes. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about addiction and the consequences of their substance use and encourage them to get the treatment they need. Interventions can be effective with all types of drugs and alcohol addiction.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving services from a rehab aftercare program are usually stable and in the maintenance phase of recovery, having completed detox and/or intensive inpatient treatment. Rehab aftercare services can vary widely based on clients' individual and evolving needs, but often include peer coaching, relapse prevention support, 12 step program induction, and medical, mental health, and social service referrals. Individual care plans are typically developed by the client in partnership with their case manager and care team.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

During 2019 things were fine at first when I went there in person for both my therapy sessions and blended case management. With blended case management however that wasn't the best idea for a few things that happened. At first Victoria handled it well with communication and helping me seek out help for things I needed. Then out of nowhere the one day the manager named Christina at that time called me up instead of Victoria out of the blue then said she switched her out with someone else instead. Later I found out Victoria got a promotion to work in a different part of the office building. However after meeting Christina, she thought she could just stick me on social security and other stuff then I said, "Shouldn't that be my decision?". Christina then looked at me all shocked a bit about my assertiveness after I said what I wanted and what I didn't want while Haley just sat their quietly watching it unfold. Then after I was waiting outside for my ride to come with some other people waiting, Christina came out with Haley being quiet and Christina started nitpicking at everything I didn't have to try and embarrass me in front of everyone else. After that she left me be when I worn her down from dishing it back at her in some arguments. Haley was a little more helpful about things but she exaggerated about Employment Technology Inc. when Jessica and Naomi came in about helping me finding a place to work by making it sound like they could guarantee me a job. That didn't end well later with the job searching part. Other then that In 2020 Haley called me up about my case because of places closing up so I asked to close my case. For my therapy sessions with Flora however were really decent since in 2019 I was going through a lot of bad stuff at the time because of the household I was living in for several years. After awhile though I noticed the small changes going on with services because of what the company was doing. At first for the front desk I had my mom with me for transportation before using BCT afterwords and you were able to sign for your appointments when checking in when the office workers asked about your appointment time, etc. Then later on they started making the therapists having people sign for their appointment in their office room. After the pandemic for 2020 came around I was on the phone most of the time afterwards and it was okay at first then about 3 to 4 years later she told me about them being converted to online services instead since people weren't going to the office building much for in-person services. Then later in 2023 to now as of 2024 they kept changing more things around where at first they didn't ask you to sign anything and so on. Recently last month in May, my therapist told me about them changing things around for the outpatient contact and now they want me doing some of the work for the organization by filling out an outpatient form along with signing it without myself having any training or knowledge of how to use it. Then after I filled it out back in May 22, 2024, I filled it out partially wrong and I got text message yesterday on my phone for June 7th, 2024 at around 5 PM during my dinner time saying I needed to fill out the form again. Then I thought I already filled it out back in May almost 3 weeks ago. I texted my therapist and she mentioned about the times being precise instead of leaving it at 2 PM and 3 PM. That didn't make my Friday night any better since I wasn't expecting to refill paperwork I did on the start of the weekend after eating dinner. At this point even though this placed helped me out at first in 2019, I think it's starting to go down hill. So I'm gonna be cancelling my next appointment. They even messed up the automated calls as well from not mentioning about the 1 or 2 buttons being options to keep or cancelling an appointment and only had the 9 button as a repeat message for all options on the phone call. Then i'm gonna call them up and ask if I could have my therapy case closed since I'm not liking the changes they made recently this year for 2024.

2024 UPDATE: Never heard anything back. I'm going to be moving to Publix housing near there and it's sad I have to worry about my mental health and what resources might not be available.2023 UPDATE: I have heard nothing and have gotten in contact with a disability lawyer. I learned that since I was accepted in this state funded facility and then after a day I was turned away after doing therapy in a group because my sharing " triggered others" and advised to see a alternative program is in violation of the American with disability act. Article states one cannot be denied treatment and or services based on disability especially when one is already accepted into a program especially a state funded program. Therfore I have decided with the help of my lawyer to file a grievance about lenape and there violation of the ada law to the state and a lawsuit against Lenape for emotional and mental truama it has caused me that I've never fully recovered from causing more PTSD and issues im still working on in therapyUPDATE: I GOT A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER SAYING SOMEONE WOULD BE IN CONTACT WITH ME TO TRY TO SOLVE THE ISSUE AND NO ONE HAS EVER REACHED OUT TO ME OR EVEN ASK FOR A NUMBER TO CONTACT ME ON.A couple years ago I went to the partial program. My first day of group I talked in group about my past. I then got a call from the head of the program saying that they didn't think the program was a good fit because of my past triggering of people and said they think therapy elsewhere would be a better solution and after time in private therapy they would consider me back. I felt so rejected and it's not my fault when asked to speak about my past that it triggered people that the program then doesn't feel like I am a great fit. It felt like a bait and switch technique. I'm moving down near that area but I'm afraid that if I ever need services they will either turn me away or bait and switch. Otherwise I have no problem driving 45 minutes to get to my therapist I see now. The point is that I never felt more rejected and left with no mental health services that were agreed upon and struggled for quite some time with more issues due to my ptsd because of the situation and now nervous that if I ever need services will I just be rejected again or bait and switch. It's just sad when people seek help and find it that after they open up about there past there turned away adding more or new trust issues with the program and mental health services

Matthew, we would be happy to reach out, but we do not have current contact information for you. Please feel free to privately send us your contact information at info@lenapevf.org and we will have someone reach out to you promptly. Thank you. Matthew, we are very sorry to hear that your experience years ago was not a positive one. While we do sometime recommend other or additional community resources to best meet our clients' needs, it is never our intention to make anyone feel rejected. We will ask the director of our partial hospital program to reach out to you privately to discuss and we can not respond to specific client issues on a public forum. Thank you for voicing your concerns. We take them very seriously.

We had nothing but horror stories dealing with private psychiatrists prior to finding Lenape. We entered our son in the partial day program to avoid full-time hospitalization, and the results were phenomenal. The lead psychiatrist was very good - I can t remember her name, something Italian - and our son s main care provider was a nurse practicioner named Mary S. who I consider a guardian angel sent from God. I will be forever grateful to them for helping our son through very difficult times when things seemed hopeless.

God awful. They changed their scheduling to where if you don t call 6 weeks ahead, you re out of medication for weeks, maybe even a month. Not sure why they don t schedule your follow up right after your visit. Do any of you have a clue what people go through without their medication? They used to do emergency doses of controlled substances which they don t do anymore so every month you have to ration your pills and pray you might get an appointment in the time you re due for a new script. Completely disorganized company. Don t go here.

The staff here are as rude and obnoxious as it gets! Very dissatisfied! We re your patients do you get that? We pay your salary! Is a tiny bit of respect for another human being that hard? Disgraceful.

We would be happy to look into this situation further. I have been a client at Lenape for almost 5 years now and I have nothing but praise for this organization. I have seen everyone I ve come across treated with respect and dignity. They try to make things as easy as possible on their clients while trying to navigate the insane world of mental health insurance. I have attended programs at both the Doylestown location and the Bristol location and have found the same level of professionalism and compassion at both places. These programs were so helpful, and transportation was provided to and from their facilities. During Covid they started doing video and telehealth appointments, and they continue today. I know their hands are tied in regards to who they can accept because of insurance limitations, but they truly go above and beyond to help those in their care. I hope one day I won t need them anymore, but for now I m very thankful they are there.
