About Laurel Ridge at Highpoint center

Laurel Ridge Treatment Center is a private rehab to combat substance use disorder. They’re accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by LegitScript. Their treatment center welcomes adults and youth fighting substance abuse, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders. No matter where you are in your journey, you can access comprehensive care to meet your needs. You'll find 'em on 29 breathtaking acres in San Antonio, Texas.

With a strong focus on your overall well-being, they strive to save lives, heal families, and create hope. You’ll benefit from multiple levels of care, including inpatient treatment (IP), partial hospitalization (PHP) day treatment, and in-person or virtual intensive outpatient programs (IOP).

One eye-catching feature is their beautiful campus. You’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and a spacious environment to step away and focus on recovery. If inpatient care is the best option for your acute symptoms, you’ll live in their facility that has 330 beds with impressive amenities and accommodations. They provide a gym, pool, recreational facility, playground, library, dining room, and more.

Another standout feature I noticed is their specialized therapeutic services. They take a holistic approach to treatment, offering multiple alternative therapies to help you heal and overcome addiction. recreation and leisure, art, music, reality-oriented physical experiential situation, aquatic, and animal-assisted therapy are available. These activities not only foster growth and healing. They also help you explore new interests that can benefit sustained recovery.

One interesting thing about their treatment approach is the Gorski-Cenaps Model. This framework emphasizes the importance of holistic healing, relapse prevention, and proven therapeutic interventions. Their programs incorporate this model with other treatment best practices to provide a truly individualized approach.

You’ll find several options to customize your treatment plan and find care that best fits you or your loved one. Some other key elements include specialized military and Veterans services, as well as adolescent addiction treatment programs.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

aftercare iconAftercare

Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs promote participants' sustained sobriety through rigorous and ongoing peer coaching and personal spiritual growth. Participants routinely attend 12 step meetings, which are available multiple times per day, 365 days per year in most communities. This ensures that those in recovery have prompt access to the structure and support they need when they need it. These programs use spiritual precepts to address the root causes of addiction and encourage compassion, self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

mental-health iconMental Health and Substance Abuse

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

dialectical iconDialectical Behavior Therapy

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

life-skills iconLife Skills

The right life skills training will help you build the skills you need for recovery. You'll learn how to solve problems, improve your social life, enhance your mental health, and make good decisions. This is a key component of drug rehab programs in Texas.

art-brush iconCreative Arts Therapy

Creative arts therapy focuses on creative processes. You may engage in sculpting, dancing, improv, painting, or sketching. These creative outlets provide an opportunity to explore and express difficult emotions.

medical-detox iconExperiential Therapy

Experiential therapy in Texas can look different for each person. You may engage in fitness activities, community service, culinary arts, or art therapy, for example. The goal is to provide a safe setting where you can interact with your environment and work through emotions and experiences with the help of that activity and the guidance of a therapist.

I went her twice for depression and intrusive thoughts Mr. Eric and Ms.Geo (sorry if I didn't spell ur name right) are very helpful and ask what you're pronouns are so you're treated like family! Ms. Tanjia is a good therapist! She helped me communicate how I feel to my family without anyone getting upset! But all of the staff make you like you are worthy, strong, loved and cared about no matter who you are!Thank y'all so much for making me see how awesome I am! :)
