Laurel ridge treatment center is the best place.I've ever been for mental health. I stayed there eight days and felt like I got a week long hug from the staff. I would recommend laurel ridge above all , the other places to go. They go above and beyond to make sure that you feel safe uncomfortable. Not being treated like a criminal because I have mental health issues was probably the best part of my stay. The food is great also!!

Accepted Insurance

Laurel Ridge Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
After completing some form of inpatient care, many clients transition or step down to an outpatient rehab, while some choose to transition from detox directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education, and some also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are based on a model of continuing care and the premise that recovery is a life-long process requiring ongoing client support. Many rehab aftercare services include outpatient care, but clients often continue to receive support after being discharged from formal treatment. Case managers and care teams typically collaborate with clients to design their long-term care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction, among other services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Texas may be necessary if your loved one is in denial about a substance use disorder. You can partner with intervention services to plan and execute an effective intervention that educates your loved one about addiction and encourages them to get the treatment they need. Many rehab centers offer intervention specialists who can facilitate the intervention and help with a seamless transition to inpatient rehab for treatment.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Together with an experienced trauma therapist, you work on healing emotional wounds from traumatic experiences within a trauma therapy environment. Your therapist will help you process the experience of the trauma, which promotes emotional healing and improves your overall mental health.

Family and caregiver involvement is an integral component of the treatment program. The Laurel Ridge staff offers family therapy and aftercare management to encourage families to forward gains made during treatment to the home environment. Through the skills learned at Laurel Ridge, patients have the foundation for continued growth outside of our facility.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Creative arts therapy focuses on creative processes. You may engage in sculpting, dancing, improv, painting, or sketching. These creative outlets provide an opportunity to explore and express difficult emotions.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Not family oriented whatsoever husband has been in this facility for 10 days and no phone call. The RN nurse Melinda is very rude and unprofessional. There's no way to tell if your loved ones are being taken care of or just being medicated to make their job easier.

I would like to focus on the intake/admissions process. It is a horrible process & increased my anxiety and depression tremendously. I drove myself to Laurel Ridge voluntarily and requested an assessment because I was depressed and feeling extremely anxious. I sat in the waiting area for 6 hours. No one talked to me or communicated whatsoever. At the end of 6 hours, I asked to leave because my anxiety was thru the roof. My condition was serious but no one knew because they never spoke to me. Like other patients, if I had caused a scene rather than trying to be patient & courteous, I probably would have been assessed quicker. Instead, I left the facility after 6 horrible hours in worse condition than when I arrived. I understand the process takes time, but 6 hours with no communication does not make sense. (There is no telling how long it would have taken had I not left.). This process hurts individuals who are already in a bad state.

Please don t bring your children here. They hire Psychologists that graduate from the top 5,000 universities worldwide including Pakistan. Meaning that the service you will get, is the lowest! Please don t bring new clothes because the nurses will not return your clothes. Just buy Goodwill clothes and bring that clothes to your love one.If you are an adult over 18 years old, be ready to become addicted to cigarettes! The nurses encourage you every hour to smoke cigarettes even if the nurses and doctors know that it affects the medication they are consuming inside the hospital. You will become addicted to NICOTINE!!If they can t put you to sleep, the doctors will overdose you with HALDOL shot. I was unconscious for many weeks with a HALDOL shot of 150 mg!Stop abusing people! We are humans, not rats in a lab.It s best if you go to university hospital. Even though that s another place where you are a rat in a lab because students need hours with patients to become doctors. But be consistent and speak with doctors in person and hopefully they do better than Laurel Ridge Treatment Center.Go to CHCS, they got better at their services. The mental health system it s horrible everywhere. You can t give up. Just keep looking for help.Don t pretend to be blind, deaf and mute for your convenience! Help people for real!

Went to Laurel ridge to get my 16 yr old daughter evaluated. All they did was take away our phones and locked us in a different room for 3.5 hrs. I repeatedly asked on the intercom to give us back our things & let us out. Finally after asking 4 times a lady came & made me sign a paper saying I was refusing treatment . It was dark by the time they let us out. Waste of 4 hrs.update. Went back 2 days later . Staff was great. Even fed us while we waited. I will keep u posted .Update. This is a horrible place. This is not a treatment center. This is a prison that parents who don't love their kids take them there. But if your wanting to get your child help then Laurel ridge is not it. And it was a struggle to get my 16 yr old daughter released. I had to threaten to call the cops for basically kidnapping . Some of the staff , not all of the staff but most seem like they just got released from prison themselves. There's no happiness there. My daughter said there's bugs everywhere. In San saba everyone is trying to fight w/ everyone. They fite over food & water. The beds stink and the food is awful. There's no school there like they said there would be so she doesn't fall behind in school. That was a complete lie to my face. When I was finally finally allowed to pick up my daughter . I had to walk all the way to Sam saba area. There's all these jungle gym areas outside . Didn't c any kids playing . They r just for show. Like on that video they have playing in the waiting room. My daughter said they were never allowed to play outside just sit and watch Disney plus . When I got let into the San saba building I was looking through the glass door to see my daughter sitting watching tv I hadn't seen her for 5 days .the ghetto lady working there told me not to be looking through the glass and to sit my butt down in the chair. What r they hiding . What's wrong with me looking through the glass to see my daughter . Laurel ridge needs to be investigated. There is so much more. I have nothing positive to say about this prison . Update .it's been 3 months since I got my daughter out of Laurel ridge. My daughter is scared to go outside . She is afraid of people. Before Laurel ridge she was a outgoing . Independent teenager now she doesn't want to leave the house . Someone needs to shut that place down .

This place is amazing for Soldiers. Thank you to all the Therapist and Staff Members who made my treatment an overall once in a lifetime experience. It s what Soldiers need to start their healing process. Wish I would have found this sooner. More military members need to know about this place to start their healing process and know they are not alone.

I wouldn't wish this place on anyone wishing to retain a sense of well being. While there are a few conscientious professionals, most of the staff seem jaded and callous. The nurses are catty, with a constant audible derision toward the "guests". The food is great, and the cafeteria workers are wonderful. The sessions are almost all in a group setting, which is both good and bad. They lack the resources to grant the guests adequate time and privacy.

My son was taken to this facility 3 days ago, and it has been a nightmare. We waited for about 7 hours for him to be placed. Arrived about 6:15 pm, there were four teens in the waiting area. One in paper scrubs. 3 unsupervised and 1 had a mother in the room. One was writhing and humping the floor most of the time. Two were dating and handsy with each other. We told a staff member that we left in such an hurry that we forgot his medications (we live an hour away). The staff member told us it was ok and they have a pharmacy. Our son needed his medication that night, and they assured us he would get it. About an hour into the wait, we were taken into a room and our belongings were taken from us. The waiting room got crowded and we sat for hours without our belongings while others came in and still had their cell phones. After about 3 hours in, I mentioned that I had a family that was probably worried about us and had no way to know if they were trying to contact. The reply I received was that they took cell phones for patient safety. I told the individual to look around the room. We were the only parents there that had their phone taken away. The response was well, they probably just got here. That was not the truth. I d been in the room with many of them for over an hour. The teens that were in the room when we got there requested that another show be put on the tv. The staff member put on The Simpsons, an episode where Homer was supporting strip clubs, drinking until drunk, and much more. I made a complaint about it and then was told it would be changed, but another 10 min went by and showed Homer taking his son to a strip club. Not appropriate! There were young kids in the room at this point. At one point another father who brought his daughter in voluntarily, pressed the call button to be released from the room to leave, he wasn t going to put up with it. I went out behind him to go get some meds for an oncoming migraine from being in the room about 4 hours and having missed dinner (I m diabetic). The receptionist told me that I was not allowed to leave because she couldn t open the doors since the father was trying to leave with his daughter. He was saying that he knew his rights and that he could leave. She told him not until he signed forms. Then, told me that she would open the door when somebody was there for him to sign paperwork. The staff had to open the bathroom door in order to use it. Then, a staff member handed a person toilet paper roll and told her to stick it in the door so it wouldn t close after they were done so others didn t have to use the call button. When we were finally called about intake paperwork at 6 hours in, we talked to a psychiatrist on a televisit/tablet for all of about 5 min. Handed a packet of paperwork to sign. I told the staff member that I was going to read every line. I m glad I did! They wanted me to sign off on a form about their procedures for seclusion and containment- no where to be found! Many of the pages were very poor copy quality that were not able to be read. I asked for the procedures to be provided. The person left to ask about it and sent somebody else to tell me that the nursing staff refused to give it to them and (Clara- I believe) filed a complaint on the nursing staff. I called the next day to talk to a patient advocate to get the paperwork, left a message. Still haven t received a call back. No contact by the business office to know what this is costing me. I ve requested, no contact. He went to a unit after 7 hours waiting, did not receive his meds, found out the next morning. He has to talk to us on a wall speaker phone. No privacy. These kids are treated like prisoners. Told that psych said 5 more days, if we wanted to get him before that they would file with CPS to be investigated. That is not a threat to me, I have nothing to hide! What is a threat is leaving him at a facility that has (in the recent past) hired a CEO with a criminal history and child abuse. I would never subject anybody to LR! Please do research before sending anybody to LR.
