Would give a zero star review if I could. Medical staff are overworked, underpaid, and the hospital quality isn t great either. Offer little to NO financial assistance for people who aren t absolutely dirt poor. People who work and are patients here deserve better. Will never ever go here again. Staff and hospital seems money hungry and that s likely why they offer such little financial assistance. Unhelpful, useless, and really out of date as a hospital.

Accepted Insurance

Lakes Region General Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Terrible place, waited 4 hours with my daughter in pain, then left without being seen. 3 months later got a text from a collection agency for a visit that was never done. I never was sent an invoice. This is the worst place you can go if you feel ill.Go to Concord, don't even bother trying it here.

My mother in law has heart issues and we had to rush her to the ER In Laconia, while they initially took her into the triage and got her vitals, we were sent back out in the waiting room , more tests and back in the waiting room. We finally got a room and after 5 hours they sent her to Concord , now she hadn t had anything to eat or drink all day . She is 88 years old. After begging them to get her something to eat, they finally let her order some food before her ambulance ride.. But they had people on beds in the hallways, everyone was upset with the level of care or lack there of, some people just signed themselves out because it was taking so long. And nurses standing around, no one was rushing around. Now when I m busy at work I move faster, that s not the case here. It was a total shitshow. And I know they have another hallway with more beds that they didn t seem to use at all. I m very unhappy about the takeover . Concord hospital is ruining the healthcare system around here and there is nothing we can do about it.

Dr. Kloc and everyone involved in my treatment were extremely compassionate. My appendix was at risk of bursting and my blood tests/CAT scan confirmed this. I was only in the waiting room for 20 minutes, and I was out of surgery and on my way home by 3pm. I understand that there is a bit of a staffing shortage right now, but this was minimally apparent during my stay. Thank you to all the hospital staff who saved my life. You guys rock!

Visited the ER with a swollen arm on a Saturday night. Staff were excellent and caring, and kind to me and my family. The doctors and nurses listened to my concerns and ordered thorough testing that revealed a serious underlying cause I'm very grateful that they caught. Big thanks to all staff including Dr MacAskill, Dr. G, Dr. Bhattarai, and nurses Noah, Andy, Christina and Kevin (and others whose names I didn't catch).

The Concord and Laconia hospitals almost killed my mother, and from director level management and down, exhibited lack of communication, empathy, reasonable care, and negligence. It is also clear that they care more about keeping surgeries in house, to retain the money, rather than put their patient's needs first. She spent 4 weeks recovering from a technical error one of the surgeons made while removing her gall bladder, leaving her internally bleeding for over 48 hours before they caught it. After the emergency surgery, saving her life, she spent 4 weeks in the ICU, experiencing terrible nursing care, having her items thrown by nurses, nurses not responding to her needs sometimes up to hours. We received calls from even the surgeon himself, letting us know he was upset with the level of nursing care received and that even his efforts didn't help. Additionally, we personally know nurses at this hospital who tried to advocate for us, to no help. They even told us that some of the nurses have been problems from a long time, but their bosses do nothing about it. After speaking with Kevin McCarthy, the Director or Administration, and Melissa, the Director of Nursing operations, it was clear the issues with this hospital group start at the top. Keep your loved ones away from this facility.

Really 0 stars. Idk what was up this weekend but my sister was seizing uncontrollably and when we got there we had to wait over 2 hours and they just plopped her inna wheelchair in the corner of the waiting room while she was seizing and shouting and nobody would help her and they even YELLED at her to stop jerking her arms. Sent her home only for her to seize again and when we called an ambulance and they brought us back, they actually TOLD US there s nothing we can do for you. Don t come back if this happens again Overall every single person there was incredibly rude. I m it can be busy and awful in ERs but the bedside manner was horrific and I m still in shock by how terribly my sister was treated.

An employment shakeup at Concord Hospital-Laconia resulted in jobs for three fewer doctors, with thousands of patients left to seek care from another provider, raising questions about patient abandonment You think?!According to William Dooley and Dawn Beers someone fired my beloved PCP in the MIDDLE OF MY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT!!! Whisky Tango Foxtrot? I was reassured that I d have a new PCP no later than November or December Whisky Tango Foxtrot? Resigned her position Bullying behavior Humiliation tactics from hospital management Toxic and hostile environment Sounds like a great place to work

Excellent care, service and dedication. I have had two experiences with this facility, ( one life saving) and I could not ask for better. Everyone should understand that there is a major shortage of healthcare workers so of course you will have somewhat of a wait. Maybe those who complain should just stay home and see how that works out. Thank you so much to the men and women of concord hospital at Laconia.
