outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient Rehab

Clients who have just completed detox, those who are in crisis, and those with a history of relapse often require treatment in an inpatient rehab. These facilities provide high-level supervision, structure, and support, allowing clients to focus on their recovery away from their addiction triggers. Most inpatient treatment programs center upon various forms of psychotherapy, including CBT, DBT, RBT, and motivational interviewing. Clients may also receive recovery-focused life skills training and evidence-based holistic therapies, such as massage.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

aftercare iconAftercare

Clients engaged in a rehab aftercare program are in a more advanced stage of recovery. Many have already completed inpatient detox and/or rehab and have returned to their home, workplace, and community. Rehab aftercare services are designed to support clients' recovery over the long term and typically include a broad portfolio of resources, such as peer coaching and 12 step program induction. Clients may collaborate with their case manager and care team to create their care plan.

12-step icon12-Step

Persons engaged in a 12 step program regularly attend group meetings in their communities, though online sessions are becoming increasingly popular. 12 step recovery is rooted in spiritual principles that enable participants to address the root causes of addiction and to foster self-awareness, compassion, acceptance, and accountability. Peer sponsors support participants as they work through the steps of recovery. Most programs are non-denominational, but specialized formats, including the faith-based Celebrate Recovery! format, are available.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

As a short-term option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides an intensive rehab option for individuals with acute symptoms. PHP treatment focuses on management without requiring 24-hour care. During PHP treatment, you may engage in behavioral therapy services, psychoeducation, and periodic evaluations conducted by licensed professionals. The duration of a partial hospitalization program can average 90-130 days based on your progress. Insurance coverage may vary, but many providers offer full or partial coverage for PHP.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Detox is a "clearing of toxins." It is a period of time when the body's physiology is adjusting to absence of alcohol/other drugs and the person begins to make psychological re-adjustments necessary for ongoing treatment. Keystone provides a safe, humane withdrawal period while protecting the individual's dignity. Keystone's caring staff, supportive environment, cultural sensitivity and confidentiality will help you achieve better outcomes in your next step to further treatment. Keystone has both a Medical and Social level of Detoxification which are staffed by medical personnel and under the supervision of a Medical Director. The approximate length of stay for Social Detoxification is 2-10 days.

Heart icon Treatment

alcohol iconAlcoholism

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

drugs iconDrug Addiction

Choosing a drug rehab in South Carolina helps you overcome drug dependency, learn how to manage cravings, and obtain the tools needed to prevent relapse. This is accomplished through individualized treatment that addresses a full spectrum of physical, social, and emotional needs.

check iconDual Diagnosis

Compass: A program designed to serve persons with co-occurring substance use and behavioral health conditions who may benefit from a smaller group setting and services geared to address these specific needs. Group meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30pm—3:30pm. Typical program length is 12-18 weeks and includes 4-6 weeks of recovery management.

opium iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

substance-abuse iconSubstance Abuse

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Hand holding medical sign icon Clinical Services

inpatient-file iconCognitive Behavioral Therapy

The main basis of cognitive behavioral therapy in South Carolina is that all your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. Therefore, the therapist will help you change your thoughts, which will lead to different emotions and actions.

intervention iconGroup Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

mental-health iconIndividual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

desert iconMotivational Interviewing

There are four fundamental processes to motivational interviewing in South Carolina. Engaging involves careful listening to understand the client's perspective. Focusing involves reaching an agreement on the purpose of the treatment. Evoking is the process of exploring the client's ideas and motivations. Planning explores how the client can make changes.

house-medical iconTrauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

family iconFamily Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

nicotine iconNicotine Replacement Therapy

As you use nicotine replacement therapy, you can gradually decrease your nicotine consumption over several weeks. This gives your brain time to adjust to the change, so you experience less severe cravings and withdrawal.

I was very disappointed by the service provided to me after everything they promised. Some of the staff were not professional at all and sometimes were even vindictive. By what they give you the prices are excessive.

I was a patient here 4/20/2016 and it saved my life. I now have over 8 years clean and am living my best life. If I didn t come here and continue treatment when I left I wouldn t be alive. Thanks to my mom, she found this place, and a Higher Power who put me right where I needed to be. I liked it because there were medical professionals who treated me more than fair, even nice, and not overlooked or disrespected. They helped me come up with a plan that suited my needs. I was heard and felt I was safe. It was a secure place, not able to have my cell phone and had limited calling times and even harder abilities to get drugs, if I had more freedom I would have left and gotten high. Those detox days were hell, but the medicine they gave me to come off of substances helped. I opted out of MAT bc I used to abuse it. They had an enclosed smoking area too for us (which was considerate) and people from 12 step programs bringing hope. The facility played a video of a Celtics ball player who struggled with addiction and stayed clean. That video changed my life and gave me hope as I used to be an athlete. I had no insurance and they worked with my mom and I to sort out a payment plan. I payed them back once I got clean. 10/10 stars. Even more if I could. I didn t attend outpatient treatment, although they offered a lot of services, because I went to a rehab across the state. I am so grateful I gave this place a chance to hold the fate of my life in it. I was in good hands. Thank you to the dedicated staff, your kindness, board members who help make this possible, and community volunteers. You rock Keystone!

There is no better place than keystone. If YOU want the help and YOU work for your recovery? They will work JUST as hard for you, if not harder. Kelly, Kyra, Sylvana, Jess, Kerry, Erin, Frank, Doug, David... They are all pure souls. I have felt the love, support, and empathy on the level that I did/still do at keystone. They saved my life. They save a LOT of lives. This program will go hard af for you so long as you WANT it. I'm blessed beyond measure to be 115 days clean and sober thanks to keystone. Been going there for almost a decade and it's running better than it ever has now in 2022 with Kyra Rich the Case Manager. She is by far the most amazing person I have met at keystone. I never knew I could love a "normie" so much lol. My before and after pics are gonna be below.. let that speak for itself. I love keystone more than I can put into words. They are HOME to me. Keystone is home.. **EDIT:I am now OVER 2 years 2 months and 12 days clean (as of 01/23/2024) and i still feel the very same (if not stronger) about keystone! I went all the way to Utah to Turning Point who is supposed to be "second in the nation" for substance abuse. And they treated me terrible.. i still to this day hold true to my opinion that keystone is THE BEST treatment facility there is out there! They are small but they are mighty. They have so much heart. I still to go to keystone for my groups and MAT to this day!! And i LOVE IT!! They have been such an essential part of my recovery and always will be! I cannot wait to start my training to become peer support and hopefully be able to give back to keystone for how much they have given me!! We do recover! 11/12/21

This place is by far the worst I have yet to see. I am desperately trying to find a drug rehab and have called many times just to be hung up on after being on hold

The people were great, the food was amazing. My only problem was I was brought in on like a Thursday or Friday so most the counselors weren't there and I get sorta restless legs but all over my body when I go through withdrawls and the nurse said she would get the dr to see me so she could give me something to help but while speaking to the dr, I thought she was just another intake nurse so I didn't bring it up. She was a little hard to understand and was very quick and short with me so I was already uncomfortable and sick. When the restlessness kicked into high gear over the weekend they had no staff that could help. I saw nobody over the weekend which was the worst part of it so I left against advice. They should have drs come in every day not just during the week. Other than that it really was a great place. My counselor was extremely nice and tried to help but that restlessness was too much without any medication to help.

Keystone changed my life in 2021. Stepping into the office this morning felt good. I was welcomed with friendly staff and hopeful messages on the walls. I took pictures but there isn't a place to attach them. I'm grateful for a still moment to share my experience. In 2020 I was referred to keystone. I deemed Keystone a waste of time. I committed to and completed Keystone in 2021. It filled my with joy to be welcomed back this morning by caring & helpful people!

Terrible staff, inexperienced counselors. Corrupt doctors. Inconvenience from other groups. Refusing to write scripts for medicine if you miss one day of group. The doctor is petty, and the leadership within is no better. No accountability for their actions. They say and do whatever and get away with it. Please don t send a loved one here it is. Waste of time and money, save your loved ones the pain. Would not recommend to a Penguin on Fentanyl in Antarctica. Worst place ever!!!!

I suggest finding therapy with counsellors who don't self-contradict themselves and gaslight their patients just to make an extra buck. Research the psychoanalytic theory on intersubjectivity and find a counsellor who actually cares about you.
