WORST HOSPITAL IN USA! I had awful strange stomach pain. Upon my arrival into ER, they discovered an inflamed appendix. It was the weekend, and after the appendectomy procedure, there was no recovery time. They just kicked me out in a wheelchair, straight from the operating room. I was still dizzy! 24 hours later,at home, I got a severe fever that led me back to the same hospita. 2 abscesses were in my stomach. They kept me on strong drugs for a month with no success! I could've died! BUT INSTEAD, MY OVARIES ARE DEAD AND I CAN'T HAVE KIDS! I used another hospital after, and I called many lawyers, and they all said the same: "That is hard to prove! " !!!! Corruption! Arrogance! Evil!

My father has had two extended stays here. He received impeccable care during his most recent stay for an above-the-knee amputation. The doctors, nurses, and case workers were wonderful about keeping us up to date on everything. And the PTs/OTs in the acute rehab on the 5th floor are great as well. My father had to be taken to the ER last week and that was another good experience. He was seen and admitted quickly. Highly recommended.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer community-based addiction treatment, enabling clients to remain in their homes while in recovery. Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient, and sober living programming. Most outpatient facilities offer addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Integrative programs include evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation, music therapy, and massage. Facilities specializing in alcohol and/or opioid addiction may also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT).
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to the mental health treatment. Their inpatient treatment provides a safe environment for residents to recover. The staff include psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, counselors, and case managers. Additionally, ECT is provided on a case by case basis.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers a structured environment for intensive treatment of behavioral and substance use disorders. PHP treatment can consist of sessions ranging from 6-8 hours per day for an average of 90 days. You can often expect to engage in behavioral therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and receive medication. PHP treatment is often covered either fully or partially by insurance providers.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Known as the first step of the addiction recovery process, medical detox is the removal of addictive drugs and alcohol from your body and helping manage physical withdrawal. Medically assisted detox takes place in an inpatient setting where you will be closely monitored by a team of medical professionals to ensure your maximum health and safety. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be administered if needed to alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. This process is typically at least partially covered by most insurance plans.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. I am a healthcare professional for over 25 years and avoid going to the emergency room at all cost. My visit to INOVA Mount Vernon has changed my mind. I had not only prompt speedy service but I also was treated by a very kind compassionate staff from the time I checked in. Although I don t have everyone s name my healthcare team was AMAZING!! Thank you Dr Tucker, Nurse Salmon, and CT Tech Cam for taking great care of me.

The overnight staff isn t tentative, personable or communicative. From triage nurse to the doctor. I d say Nurse Matt and Ryan are prejudice or racist.I m not one of those people usually but I feel this way based on their mannerisms and comments because Matt completed an incomplete check on my injury and was stand offish.Doctor Ryan insisted I knew him and was a regular at iNova when I ve only been here when diagnosed with COVID in 2021 and now for sprain in 2024. There may have been a one off time in between but I doubt it because I heal very well at home for the most part.I understand the night shift is rough but after 3 weeks of traveling and suffering from a rolled ankle for over 48 hrs. They could have basic social ques. I didn t choose this injury, their job or schedule.Update: The X-Ray Examiner and Discharge team were great.I think I ll I choose another iNova location in the future though. Thankful I don t have to many doctor visits.

Yesterday I was in the Emergency Room for more than two hours and they did not attend to me, I asked and they told me that it was because of the Symptoms that they were attending to... I am 65 years old, I am hypertensive and diabetic and I was there because of severe headache!! What more did they want? I think they serve by SKIN COLOR there!!! Not for "Symptomology"I went home...

Cafeteria is over priced... 2 bacons, 1 hash brown, 2 boil eggs and milk $17.. Tf it'll be different if it was good and on top of that the food is cold...... They need to take tips from Fairfax Inova. The food in Fairfax Inova is top tier and not over priced..

I am utterly disappointed by Marie the nurse for the 6th floor in Neuro on August 19. The only question she asked if I had been there before since I looked familiar. Really no conversation with her much (I mean this as in my progression to the OR and medical topics). I asked for medication since I was in excruciating pain and her response was she just got in and has a lot of reports to look at. Why add all that extra making me feel like a chore when i'm in pain? A simple "I'll check with the doctor and get you situated" would have sufficed. After that I had a surgery done on my spine and she did not check on me a single time upon entering my room for recovery. I had to call three times to see if I was allowed to eat since I haven't eaten or drank anything to prep for surgery. I have no idea if I have to stay the night or if I am being discharged. She did not check on my pain levels or even offer water. Those are bare minimums of her job. I am shocked someone like this is a nurse. She ignored me instead of just giving me transparency on what's happening. It's okay to not know. But already tell me

If you ever end up in ICU here, immediately request to be transferred to Fairfax. Not only is it unclean and unsanitary (saw multiple roaches and flies), but their staff is inferior to that of Fairfax ICU team (specifically Dr Audwin Garcia and PA Caroline). I hated dealing with those two. This Inova location does not have a real ICU, they really shouldn t call it that

I am so thankful for this Emergency Room, they have helped me so many times. I was treated with with kindness, competency, and efficiency. It hasn't been crowded when I've been here, and very pleasant atmosphere, for a hospital.
