Their levels of care typically include partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient, and sober living programming. Most outpatient facilities offer addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Integrative programs include evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation, music therapy, and massage. Facilities specializing in alcohol and/or opioid addiction may also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT).

PHP treatment can consist of sessions ranging from 6-8 hours per day for an average of 90 days. You can often expect to engage in behavioral therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and receive medication. PHP treatment is often covered either fully or partially by insurance providers.

Known as the first step of the addiction recovery process, medical detox is the removal of addictive drugs and alcohol from your body and helping manage physical withdrawal. Medically assisted detox takes place in an inpatient setting where you will be closely monitored by a team of medical professionals to ensure your maximum health and safety. Medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol may be administered if needed to alleviate any potential withdrawal symptoms. This process is typically at least partially covered by most insurance plans.

Every time I went for my appointments, the receptionists acted as if I was a burden. I always waited more than 30 mins before asking one more time for my doctor and only then being informed he had some complications and would come 2 hrs later or not even come. No nutrition p ... Read More

Cafeteria is over priced... 2 bacons, 1 hash brown, 2 boil eggs and milk $17.. Tf it'll be different if it was good and on top of that the food is cold...... They need to take tips from Fairfax Inova. The food in Fairfax Inova is top tier and not over priced..

I am utterly disappointed by Marie the nurse for the 6th floor in Neuro on August 19. The only question she asked if I had been there before since I looked familiar. Really no conversation with her much (I mean this as in my progression to the OR and medical topics). I asked for medication since I was in excruciating pain and her response was she just got in and has a lot of reports to look at. Why add all that extra making me feel like a chore when i'm in pain? A simple "I'll check with the doctor and get you situated" would have sufficed. After that I had a surgery done on my spine and she did not check on me a single time upon entering my room for recovery. I had to call three times to see if I was allowed to eat since I haven't eaten or drank anything to prep for surgery. I have no idea if I have to stay the night or if I am being discharged. She did not check on my pain levels or even offer water. Those are bare minimums of her job. I am shocked someone like this is a nurse. She ignored me instead of just giving me transparency on what's happening. It's okay to not know. But already tell me

If you ever end up in ICU here, immediately request to be transferred to Fairfax. Not only is it unclean and unsanitary (saw multiple roaches and flies), but their staff is inferior to that of Fairfax ICU team (specifically Dr Audwin Garcia and PA Caroline). I hated dealing with those two. This Inova location does not have a real ICU, they really shouldn t call it that

I am so thankful for this Emergency Room, they have helped me so many times. I was treated with with kindness, competency, and efficiency. It hasn't been crowded when I've been here, and very pleasant atmosphere, for a hospital.

I don't know why they only received 2.7 stars? It could be because they are working their butts off and people have a TV show mindset or perception that all doctors and nurses will spend all their time with you and become best friends? This place was super busy, police bringing in people, another patient was screaming at everyone. Even with all the chaos the staff did a phenomenal job taking care of everyone. The nurse that was assigned to me was an absolute hero! I cannot thank that person enough.

I can honestly say that in 2024 I can t believe that I had to come to this platform to complain about the lack of compassion and competence of care workers, especially in the ER department. Well here goes . It started out well up until I was admitted for further observation, of course I m concerned along with family as this came as such a surprise I asked a worker could she provide me with the address n visiting hours and to my surprise I was told that she didn t know and just looked at me for help. So I said is there a business card a brochure on the wall letterhead, can you ask!!!? My family is concerned. So finally after the sick patient told the worker how to help myself she came in fast talking the address as if I would remember the information so i asked her to write it down. The nurse was ignorant rude n condescending the assistant was combative b just as rude. I had to beg for hygiene supplies n was ignored for a wash cloth n soap! I was blamed for eating and told I couldn t get an important test due to no fasting because their staff told me to eat! Like that was the most uncouth encounter out of all of this trash animal treatment! How dare that fool blame the patient clown you work there n should know what was expected and my care needs not me dummy! I don t and can t read my chart dummy! So I was neglected medical care due to that incompetence in the staff! I was left unmonitored for quite sometime which was odd as I was told I had symptoms of a mild stroke!!!! Hmmmmmm not good! The ignorance kept up even when discharged. This peppa pig n her accomplice with the color patch hair we re saying slurs and remarks laughing loud regarding my requests for help! Very childish ignorant unprofessional and outlandish lil child s play. Peppa aka Jennifer, came to discharge me pulling leads off my skin I had to stop her. Pulled aggressively the tape around the IV off after I told her repeatedly that my arm was sore n to be gentle she still pulled so I pulled away! She told me that I had on FAKE NAILS, yes FAKE NAILS, and for me to take off the equipment that was on my finger because she didn t want to pull them off! I was floored as peppa pig was completely wrong but to make a patient remove medical equipment should be against the policy! She said oh I shouldn t have said that, I don t know if they ate real or not! Instead of immediately acknowledging that she neglected hospital protocol. This pig is crazy and clearly not trained to work in the medical field! She s very rough and heavy handed not gentle or careful at all. She read my discharge paper like a 7 year old mispronounced named of doctors and slurred through the diagnosis and next steps. At one point Jennifer said what s this mean to ME!! Like I can t make this up! That girl n her colorful crayons head partner thought something was funny as I walked by the desk as she allowed me to leave without knowing which way the exit was, leaving leads all across my shoulder n chest! Just pure ignorant! I asked the clown was there another exit to the other side where I parked, she lied and said no, she again was wrong, there was! I had to walked the building famished from laying for two days to find a security guard to walk me to the yellow emergency side where my car was located! Just know this will be reported to the appropriate board members! Just wanted to share my experiences

This review is for their ER as I was also admitted on a recent stay. My family and I have had to go to the ER for various reasons and we always had a very pleasant experience. Hardly had to wait in the waiting room or the triage section no matter what time of the day we arrived, we were able to see the doctor fairly quickly and tests were performed faster than other emergency rooms. I had a recent experience at VHC ER where I waited for hours without being seen. This is not the case at Mount Vernon. My family was also treated with respect and dignity. You can even check the progress of your tests on My Portal.

worst nursing staff. No Florence Nightingale's need apply. Physicians are "specialists" and have very limited bandwidth or concern. Avoid this place at all costs

The nurse on floor 3 were amazing, as well as all the staff with the GI dr. The cafeteria is horrible food and I seen them take off and change labels on the sandwiches deserts to that day. Good luck finding good food bc they re not always in stock like most hospitals. Very selective and not much to choose from. The hospital is an older hospital and the security is insane as well. Good luck getting in to see someone.

Back in 2019 use to be a good hospital but recently I visited this hospital on Sunday night till like two in the morning. The nurse was so disrespectful, knowing that I was in pain and I could not stop holding my head. She kept on taking my arms and jerking them down to my side instead of giving me something for my headache, so that I would be able to hold still for them to do the heart monitor correctly, she kept jerking my hands down and forcing them down. The room was so cold I could not even rest even after they gave me sleeping medication. It was a horrible experience. I would not recommend anyone to take their loved ones here, or keep them there. I felt like I was in a mental institution where they tortured their patients.
