About Ideal Option
Ideal Option, in Kennewick, Washington is an outpatient addiction treatment center. They’re part of a nationwide network that provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and stimulant use disorders for adults age 18 and older. They also provide MAT for alcohol withdrawal and relapse prevention. They do treat minors in special cases, but treatment needs to be approved by one of their medical directors. When you walk into the clinic in Kennewick, you’ll feel like you’re visiting your primary care doctor’s office. It’s an outpatient clinic, so patients don’t stay overnight. Instead, they come in for short visits, starting a few times a week. Once you’re stable, you’ll come in for quick 30 minute visits once a month.
Many people worry about feeling ashamed or criticized when they’re experiencing substance use issues. When you start treatment, you’ll be treated with respect and compassion. Addiction is treated like a disease here and is not something to be judged.
Something unique here is that they offer MAT for marijuana and kratom addiction. Not many clinics do this! They treat kratom addiction with some of the same meds used for opioid use disorders. For marijuana addiction, they’re using a promising new medication. For all substances they combine MAT with personalized counseling to support recovery.
Many patients who complete treatment at Ideal Option say they feel confident they can stay clean long term. The program focuses on evidence based treatment that gives people the tools and support they need for lasting recovery.

IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
Medically Assisted Detox Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning.
