About HopeQuest

Located in Acworth, Georgia, Hope Quest is a Christ-centered drug rehab that treats men and women who have substance misuse disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. They offer several levels of care including a men’s residential program that is situated on 18 beautiful acres of land, an intensive outpatient program, outpatient counseling and gender-specific support groups.

Their residential program is a 12-week commitment and helps with substance use and sexual addiction. It is available for men over 18 years of age. You would be attending multiple weekly individual therapy sessions, getting a multidimensional psychoeducational curriculum and onsite clinical psychologist supervision.

Their team is led by Master’s level, experienced professionals who are licensed and certified to help you. Once you’re properly assessed and evaluated, they’ll tailor the treatment to your specific needs. There is also a full-time campus pastor who can assist you on your spiritual journey, too. They have nutritional meals that they serve and even an aftercare program to keep you on the right track even after the 12 weeks are over.
Their intensive outpatient program is also 12 weeks long and on a beautiful 18-acre campus. They will expect you to take part in their weekly group therapy and individual therapy sessions. Individual therapy will allow you the chance to speak to a professional therapist who can find patterns of triggers in your life that may be causing you to stumble, as well as helping you deal with trauma from your past, and teach you coping skills. They can also give you referrals for residential sober living.

I absolutely agree with Brady s review down below. Hearing a psychologist confirm that this place is a disaster confirms most of the uneasiness I felt throughout my time here. When I came here last year I was dealing with some pretty severe Insomnia. Their claims that they help people with mental health are extremely exaggerated. They have a nurse on staff with an online degree that takes your blood pressure and gives out meds. Whenever he would teach classes, it really seemed like he didn t know all that much about what he was talking about. One common denominator with most of the staff seems to be that a lot of them get online degrees from liberty university to satisfy the requirements to have a degree. The issue is that their only real experience comes from working at hope quest itself.*Important note-several members of staff were also clients at HQ.Here are the biggest issues I saw in the program.1. Controlled substance rules. During my time there, I was told that I couldn t take a particular sleeping pill because it wasn t allowed on the property and yet someone else was there taking adderall, which is a schedule II controlled substance. The reason given was that adderall was meant to be taken for long term use. What s funny is that a few months after I got there, the FDA just put a new black box warning on that drug that it had a high likely hood of abuse and dependence. What s even more ironic is that some clients came there for adderall addiction. If you re trying to make sense of this, don t try. It doesn t make any sense.2. The therapists here don t really have an individual treatment plan for each patient. They are all following the TREK programs guidelines. Which is a heavy emphasis on a lot of Cloud and Townsend literature like the book boundaries. I was so overwhelmed with all the book reading and homework that I couldn t even relax. You earn privileges by completing assigned homework, so I just got to the point where I was going through the motions. I was in a complete fog until week 6 because the insomnia was so bad, I don t even remember that much of the books that I read anyways. Also, my therapist told me that I was using my insomnia as an excuse to not try in the program, how ridiculous is that?3. The idea that you ll be eating healthy there is not true at all. Some folks have mentioned that a new chef is working there, which is great. But when I was there, it was nothing but junk food with an option for a salad. The quiet room had a huge basket full of candy. Definitely not the ideal diet to help the brain recover.4. Mixed messaging in classes. We would have classes taught by counselors and some by the case managers. The case managers were really into the 12 steps, which essentially teaches that you need to work the steps and keep track of your sobriety. On the other hand, the counselors would come in and teach you that you don t need to focus on acting out because it doesn t help. That s the camp I was in, because focusing on the issue and obsessing over it made it worse.5. The staff was constantly changing the rules depending on who was there. In order to achieve in the program, you have to complete 12 weeks. When my time was coming up to leave, another guy came who was allowed to do the same in 9 weeks. I also heard that his dad had given money to hope quest as well, maybe there is a correlation? Probably so.6. Intake coordinators don t really have your best interests in mind. Their sole purpose is to just sell you on the program and get you to come. I m assuming a lot of hope quests funding is dependent upon how many clients they keep in the program. Emily even went so far as to tell me that God would reward me for coming. Sounds pretty manipulative to me.Do your research before coming here to see if it s the best fit.I m grateful that I ve been able to find more qualified help for my situation in my home town. I ve been advised to ignore a lot of the advice given to me at HQ

The Trek program changed my life! I love the staff, the therapist and they truly care about your recovery! I took so much away from HQ that I m now giving back by mentoring. Troy and Melissa have done an amazing job and the support care that they have for the spouses was huge during that dark season. THANK YOU HQ!!

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

RUN don t walk, but RUN away from Hope Quest (HQ).A lifelong friend of mine recently faced significant challenges and unfortunately ended up at HQ, where I was invited to participate in Family Day. Before attending, I sought advice from a trusted psychologist, and her immediate response when I mentioned HQ was, Hope Quest is a total disaster which turned out to be an understatement.I cannot strongly enough advise against seeking treatment at HQ or allowing anyone you care about to do so. Here are just a few of the concerning issues we encountered:1. Unprofessional BehaviorThe CEO, Troy Haas, made inappropriate remarks, jumping between personal stories about his family and troubling anecdotes that were wildly out of place in a professional setting. Additionally, staff member Phil Mitchell was difficult to relate to, lacked credibility, and raised further concerns due to his behavior. These instances only scratched the surface of the problems we observed within the staff.2. Questionable Treatment PracticesHQ s treatment approach involved humiliating public confessions from patients, which was uncomfortable for everyone involved and hardly seemed therapeutic. There was also evidence of unsafe practices, including the mishandling of medication and insufficient safeguards for vulnerable patients.3. Lack of Compassion for FamiliesHQ ignored requests supported by psychological best practices to allow contact between patients and their young children, demonstrating an overall lack of empathy and understanding. These concerns only deepened as our experience unfolded.4. Inconsistent ClaimsThe center claimed they could heal certain behaviors, but the results were questionable at best, with many patients reportedly continuing the same lifestyles after treatment.5. Financial MismanagementOur loved one was removed from the program halfway through, yet HQ kept the $10,000 payment with little explanation, a troubling practice we found was not uncommon after further investigation. In summary, while the campus may look appealing, the staff s lack of professionalism, compassion, and expertise far outweigh any positives. Our loved one ultimately had a much better experience at a different center, No Longer Bound, where they received compassionate and professional care.By posting this review, I confirm that the opinions expressed are solely my own and based on my personal experience. Readers should conduct their own research before making decisions.

Really grateful for my time at Hope Quest. Everyone was so professional, caring, kind, and loving. Christ is at the center of the program! Georgia is an executive chef and makes the best meals! Troy and Melissa have the biggest hearts and were instrumental in helping heal my marriage. Wayne and his dog Toby are the best therapists on campus! Grateful for all of the RT s, therapists, mentors, Pastor B and staff! Changed my life and honestly saved my life! You will never regret your decision to become a healthier you. Love this place, it s sacred ground!

The support I received as the wife of an addict was incredible! Changed my life with the help of the women's Journey group for spouses of sex addicts. As the wife, I felt alone and like I was drowning every single day. Journey group saved my sanity. Highly recommend this program if you are married.

This facility saved my life. This facility has powerful information and quality Care and structure that will help you thrive. I had an amazing life changing therapist and meaningful relationships with the staff members here. Also there's literally a chef in the middle of the house that makes you a variety of fresh meals on a daily basis. Amen

I went through HopeQuest sober living program and it was by far the best rehab program I have participated in. The administrators Josh and Patrick are the 2 most caring and understanding people to run a program that I have met. They do an amazing job of making sure the facility feels safe and more like a home. I have been through many program but HQ thought me balance and that I could be happy and enjoy a sober life. I love and wish to thank the staff for all that they had done for me and all they do to help others. Thank you all so much.

Do not go to this facility unless you want the Chief Executive Officer to tell lies about you. He will say things that he has "heard" to State Agencies to help make an employees at HopeQuest look favorable. Stay AWAY!!!!

I attended both the 90 day inpatient and the transitional housing afterwards to get back on my feet. I cannot begin to explain how hopequest's programs and people gave me back not just my life but my mental and emotional well-being. Truly a special place with gifted staff.
