About High Focus Centers Freehold Outpatient Treatment Center

High Focus Centers has locations in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, North Carolina, New Jersey and Georgia. They offer structured outpatient substance abuse and psychiatric treatments for teens and adults. The Freehold, New Jersey location provides treatment for a range of behavioral health challenges to middle-schoolers, teens and adults in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex County areas. They can offer partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment options.

Mental health treatments for adolescents are for ages 10-17 and are focused on improving their mental health. For adults, they offer proven treatment models that can address a wide range of issues such as substance use disorders, mental illness and co-occurring diagnosis. Each client at High Focus Centers will have a tailored treatment plan to guide their journey to recovery.

I like that they provide transportation to teens living within a 15-mile radius of the center. I also like that their team will verify your insurance coverage during your initial phone intake. They’ll explain your out-of-pocket costs and offer a treatment recommendation. They are in-network for most major insurance providers.

Many former clients highly recommend High Focus Centers in Freehold. Some say that they or their loved one had tried previous treatment options without success but found sustainable progress thanks to this facility.

I was recommended by my therapist for years to go to a facility like high focus, and I was always hesitant. But I m so glad I went here. It changed my life for the better and I met so many people who I ll always care for. This was the first time I ever felt like I had a therapist who listened to me and guided me through a very tough time in my life, and I ll always be grateful for that.

Accepted Insurance

High Focus Centers Freehold Outpatient Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Many patients who graduate intensive outpatient programs have flourished in the group setting and wish to continue in the milieu at a lower level of care. Others may be working with an outpatient substance abuse professional in the community and wish to complement their individual counseling with a weekly group session.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program at High Focus Centers helps the individual to remain abstinent, engage in the twelve-step recovery process, and return to a normal, productive life. Treatment is comprised of individual, group, family and educational therapies, all integrated within the context of the twelve-step model of recovery. They provide day and evening programs 2-5 days a week for 3 hours per day, as well as a comprehensive family program, a Saturday relapse prevention program, and psychiatric evaluations and follow-up sessions, as needed.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients in a rehab aftercare program have typically completed detox and intensive inpatient and are medically stable. These programs are designed to address addiction recovery as a life-long process. Outpatient counseling and recovery education are typically categorized as drug rehab aftercare, but many clients continue to receive support after being discharged from formal outpatient treatment. Case managers and recovery teams facilitate clients' access to peer coaching, career counseling, 12 step program induction, and related services.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in New Jersey is more than a confrontational conversation. This organized effort is specific and goal-oriented. During the intervention, family members share specific examples of how the person's addiction has impacted their lives and spell out what they will do if the individual does not get treatment. The intervention also presents a clear treatment plan, which typically involves input from intervention services.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

Many individuals suffer from both substance abuse and psychiatric disorders simultaneously. The initial assessment at High Focus is designed to identify the nuances that these patients present and offer a proper diagnosis so that the optimal treatment course can be pursued. A comprehensive program has been designed for individuals with a dual diagnosis which includes a weekly psychiatry session, a specialized psycho-educational curriculum designed specifically for the co-occurring population, group therapy interventions and DBT skills training. Co-occurring patients are given random, supervised drug screens.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
child-program thumbnail image
Child Program
The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image
Seniors Program
Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing helps clients find their motivation to change. It can be an effective method to work with clients who are angry or hostile or feel insecure about their ability to make changes in their lives. It is often used during addiction treatment or to manage physical health conditions.

I have seen my fair share of therapist and clinicians over the years. And I can say without a doubt in my mind that the people at high focus of freehold are something truly special.Starting with Alexa who is kind, compassionate, smart, professional, has an old soul (in a good way) and keeps it real 100%. She is someone I feel truly lucky to have met as a clinician and has made a difference in the short time I had her as a clinician.Kelly is patient, funny, professional, kind hearted, and also truly cares about her clients. Again I m lucky to have had her as a clinician. she helped me make internal peace with family who caused me lots of pain over the years. And made me see I don t need to throw myself into negative behaviors to make myself feel better about myself.Taylor is a beautiful person and is genuine as they come. She s kind, positive, smart, and makes you rephrase things in your mind like fake it till you make it into things like believe it until you achieve it. Training your inner monologue into a more positive mindset.Courtney is another clinician that is just as incredible as the rest mentioned. But has her own unique style of compassion while challenging you to challenge yourself. Again funny, smart, kind, and genuinely cares about everyone in the building.I also want to mention the overlooked but incredible support staff. First Donna at the front desk is so welcoming and gives the place a feeling of home and community all while being sweet and funny. And Damien the phlebotomist who is one of the coolest people you could ever get to know. He s funny, smart, well spoken, treats you with respect, kindness, doesn t ever make you feel judged, and is just an awesome guy in general.I can not praise this staff enough. In some of my hardest times they gave me hope, gave me strength, and made me see the value in me.If you legit need help consider trying this place. Give it a real shot bc it can make a difference as long as you put in the work. They took me as a broken person who didn t see the point anymore and helped me be a little less broken. They gave me the tools and resources to continue to grow and heal as a person.Thank you again to all the staff, you all made a difference in my life. And I won t forget it.

I only write reviews on things that are really important to me and high focus is a place that I will never forget. what this place and my clinician Kendell did for me really gave me back my sunshine. It taught me to trust, it taught me how to advocate, it taught me how to let go. Its one of those places were its not so much the things you learn but the things you learn with the people in your group together. There are so many good memories I have here and there so many amazingly brave people I met. That did the first important hard step in realizing they feel alone and need some support and kindness. the people here really inspired me and group therapy is exactly what I needed. if you need help high focus is really safe place to let out everything with no judgment. Your never alone <3

High Focus Center helped me process overwhelming grief from profound loss. The program worked at my pace and supported me through all the ups and downs. I ve learned coping skills to help me get through the sad times. In addition to learning these skills, I m able to manage my anxiety and depression in a way that allows me to appreciate my day to day. I can t say enough about this program and all of the amazing clinicians, doctors, and interns who have helped me. Their kindness, patience, and support are genuine and honest. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

i came to high focus with symptoms of depression and anxiety along with SI. i spent two and a half months in program. this program gave me so many useful coping skills that i will utilise for the rest of my life. i am so grateful for my clinician, Kellie. she, along with the other clinicians are all so warm and understanding and truly make the place such a wonderful environment to be in. i met people in group that i will never forget and people that i have connected with on such a new level. if you re on the fence about high focus and unsure if this place is for you, i want to reassure anyone reading this review that it is a great place to be.

High Focus was exactly what we needed in an acute crisis. It's so important to ask for help, and the counselors provided solid skills for everyone in the family to use. We would return if needed.
