Accepted Insurance

Existential Counselor Society – Inpatient Rehabilitation Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients in outpatient rehab receive a variety of services based on their unique and evolving needs. Typical outpatient treatment modalities include individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many programs also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) for clients recovering from alcohol and/or opioid dependency. Clients exiting inpatient treatment or those who are at an elevated risk of relapse may engage in more robust treatment, such as intensive outpatient (IOP) programming.
inpatient iconInpatient
Intensive Residential Treatment is a clinically managed high-intensity residential service which provides 24-hour monitoring and intensive treatment for adults needing a highly structure setting to interrupt their substance use, gain stability, and begin developing the skills necessary for recovery. Residents attend up to four group treatment sessions and one per support group per day, individual sessions with their counselor weekly and as needed, and other recovery support activities throughout the day and evening.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) enable clients to receive high-level care while living at home. Clients may choose to enter IOP instead of enrolling in inpatient care post-detox or they may transition from an inpatient rehab into IOP. Intensive outpatient treatment involves multiple therapeutic sessions per week and includes a combination of psychotherapy and addiction and recovery education. Many programs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and/or holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
aftercare iconAftercare
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Living in a sober living home in Illinois is a lot like living in a traditional home. Everyone must contribute to household chores and maintenance. All residents must work and pay rent. Individuals can mostly come and go as they please, but they must be home before curfew. Most men's and women's sober living homes also host house meetings where they resolve disputes, assign responsibilities, and welcome new residents.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Loved ones can utilize a drug intervention in Illinois to help with addressing a family member's problematic substance use. The goal of the intervention is to educate the individual about the negative effects of their substance use and encourage them to accept professional treatment. Intervention services can help families initiate this conversation and plan appropriate follow-up care, such as inpatient or outpatient rehab.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
During the medically supervised detox process, licensed medical professionals monitor your vitals and administer medications meant to help alleviate the physical symptoms of withdrawal. The process can take between five and seven days, although the actual length depends on your individual needs. In most cases, medically assisted detox is partially, if not fully, covered by insurance.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

A combined mental health and substance abuse treatment center has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track. They treat clients by providing them plenty of information through psycho-education, understanding societal impact of drug and alcohol dependency, the impact on family, career, and other facets of life. Their approach emphasizes honesty, commitment, and most of all a foundational understanding of drug and alcohol dependency.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

If you engage in cognitive behavioral therapy in Illinois, your therapist will work with you to change your thinking patterns. You'll learn how to recognize faulty thinking and develop skills to deal with stress without using substances.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Illinois typically involves keeping a diary to track actions and emotions. Your therapist will use this diary to determine what to focus on during each session. In addition to individual sessions, you'll also attend group meetings where you are trained in coping skills.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing in Illinois is person centered and collaborative. This method allows the therapist to come alongside the client to address the issue of ambivalence toward change. By listening and reflecting, the therapist helps the client see the need for change and commit to making changes.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The clinicians at Existential Counselor Society are there to help their clients find constructive ways of managing their emotions. They are uniquely trained and skilled at helping clients bring resolution to painful past experiences in a safe environment.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

The Existential Counselors Society teaches parents more effective parenting techniques like: understanding your upbringing, looking at the helpful and harmful ways in which you were raised, understanding yourself and your child, understanding beliefs and feelings, encouraging your child and yourself, listening and talking to your child, fostering cooperation in children, discipline that makes sense to both the child and the parent, and choosing your approach to engage your child.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Recreational therapy in an addiction treatment program in Idaho helps you rediscover the joy and build healthy habits you can continue as you reenter the community. Activities can include gardening, yoga, and group games that all promote relaxation, improve mood, and encourage interaction and community building. These factors are crucial for sustaining long term recovery.

The use of nicotine replacement therapy in Illinois supplies your body with a small, controlled dose of nicotine without exposing it to the other harmful chemicals in cigarettes. This dose reduces withdrawal and satisfies cravings, so you can wean yourself off nicotine use.

I would like to talk about what ECS has done for me and many others! I have been In many outpatient programs and this is my first inpatient program and I honestly can tell you it s not like any place else. Especially when I speak with the new people coming in. They all say the same thing there is nothing that can compare with this rehab. I really enjoy the staff I was blessed to get sent to house number the 3 there all great but here I really got to connect with the staff Jason, Dennis , Brook , Gary ( counselor) Carol (counselor) But most importantly Doc ! They are all genuinely great people and tell you how it is they don t grab your hand and sugar coat things. They tell you what your family didn t or didn t know how to tell you , as some of them enabled you to use as well as friends. They open open up your yes to to the real world and how we hurt the ones we loved and how to work on your self and working on how to forgive your self. Here we have groups we set goals for the day plus you get time in between to reflect read books, T.V. Time plus you do 3 group have one on one counseling. You get breakfast, coffee, lunch, Dinner and a snack. I have learned a lot here especially to love my self let go of the past I can t change the past, live in my he present one day at a time to continue to stay sober for the future. One thing that really hit me is do I want to live or do I want to die ? I want to live! I was taught Freedom = Choices + responsibility. You need freedom in your life to be sober to be free to make better choices! ( Quote from man s search for meaning ) book I read at ECS 3. The gap between what one is and and what one should become and the idea that man is responsible and must actualize the potential meaning of his life. One more thing t to say here at ECS YOU ARE NOT LECTURED YOU ARE TAUGHT! I am for ever greatful to you he staff at ECS 3 But especially DOC FOR OPENING MY he EYES AND HELPING ME TO BE A REAL MAN AGAIN AND NOT A DRUNK!

I personally found ESC to be a life changing experience for me. It s a whole different approach than any other rehab I ve personally experienced. The staff and Dr.Sharama have given me loads of knowledge/information and put it in a scientifically backed way that I could understand. Between the groups and Individual counseling time I ve received there, my outlook on my recovery and life has changed drastically. They really strive to help each person individually, teach you how to sit/handle your emotions, take responsibility, and take control back of your life. Finding meaning in my life again. I was comfortable, way well fed, and all the facilities were beyond expectations. If your serious and ready to find answers/ stay clean I would recommend ECS over any Rehabilitation center around the Chicago area.

My name is Pedro , I was a formal client at the Existential Counselors Society Inpatient Rehabilitation Center in Joliet ,IL. Throughout my life I've battled many struggles pertaining to substance abuse stemming from many unresolved issues that I was existing with. Like many that suffer from this dilemma ,it hindered me, from fulfilling my true potentials of accomplishing certain things that I knew were attainable however ,I was not capable, due to my alcoholism. I would succeed in life up to a certain point where lack of commitment would creep on and all sorts of issues ranging from anxiety and fear would definitely cripple my ability to move forward.. During this.stages of inferiority low self worth etc... it would take the better of me ,.making my life unmanageable, so I would self medicate this symptoms with alcohol . ECS has a completely different approach to this issue their diligence to help and knowledge far surpasses the average Rehabilitation center by implementing the tools and knowledge for us to utilize in every day life. They help me by having lectures about key factors and the overall biology of what this is , also one on one consoling with each of us personalising or own unique approach to sobriety.

For men, there is no other place like ECS. There's great balance throughout your daily schedule and you feel your just not another number. If you feel like getting some fresh air or having a cigarette, you can do that. There is no "institution feel" if you will. My favorite aspect is the sense of brotherhood gained by going to ECS. They have "Alumni Meetings" twice a week with a great mix of people and a daily group chat that keeps me in check. I've seen guys help others with employment, info on housing, joking around, or info on how to fix broken parts on your cars engine. (like myself ) I didn't have the luxury of looking up a place, I just looked at a list and pointed my finger on ECS. I was simply very lucky and feel extremely grateful that I went to ECS at my rock bottom. So if your lucky enough reading this and didn't die (or your loved one), I wouldn't waste any more time. There is no place like it

Recommending ECS to anybody struggling with addiction. ECS offers 1 on 1 therapy sessions 3-5 hours a week which other facilities don't. ECS challenges you to think outside of the box and pursue things of meaning to fulfill one's purpose of existence. Proud to be an Alumni and proud to call Dr. Sharma a friend!
