About Essential Behavioral Health

Essential Behavioral Health is a program with a branch in Sacramento, California. It’s part of the Spout Health Group network. They treat adults who are struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. They offer detox, inpatient services, and outpatient treatment.

They have upscale programming in a serene environment. They only have 6 beds so this allows a more intimate and client focused treatment. Their program includes individual and group therapy. You have the opportunity to engage in additional services such as art therapy, yoga, 12 Step programming, and mindfulness. You’re also able to have access to medication services alongside therapy to ensure proper continuity of care. You’ll also experience a holistic approach. One thing I like about this program is that they offer weekly outings that include hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities.

They also have alumni services for people who complete the program as a way to ensure recovery and appropriate connection to services.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
During the first phase of recovery – detox – it is crucial to have 24-hour clinical care in California. This care provides constant monitoring in order to ensure your safely and comfort as you progress through the withdrawal process for drug or alcohol addiction. Licensed professionals prescribe medications to treat withdrawal symptoms and provide frequent monitoring to ensure your safely as addictive toxins leave your system.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

The goal of couples therapy in California is to strengthen the couple's relationship. The therapist may take one or more approaches to counseling which may include the Gottman method, emotionally focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic couple's therapy.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

I recently experienced Essential Behavioral Health Zinnia Health in Fair Oaks first hand and it changed my life. I would highly recommend anyone ready and willing to better themselves and their relationships with family and friends. Every single staff member there is fully supportive and truly cares about every person in their care. Katie is one of the best managers I ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and would do anything in her ability to help you out and take care of any worries and problems you may encounter. Anne and Jeff taught me how to cope and handle situations that might arise in life and are phenomenal case managers/counselors. I ve learned so many benefits and lessons to help me navigate life and am eternally grateful for all they taught us. Amy the detox supervisor makes you feel like one of the family and does an amazing job making sure you are comfortable and taken well care of in any situation. Mai and Brenda the BHTs are always there to make sure everything runs smoothly as well as Aliana and Bea. Naomi is an incredible personal chef and makes sure you are always well fed with amazing food made from love and great care. Each individual that works here honestly cares with all their hearts and wants the very best results from each patient and will strive in whatever way they can to make that happen. I am so grateful for each and every one of them and owe them my eternal gratitude.

Great program for addiction and mental health. I gained lots of helpful material and tools. I came for strictly mental health but i got to see and participate in both sides of the program. The addiction perspective played a very vital role in my mental health recovery.

My time spent at this facility was life changing. I spent almost 2 months in the dual diagnosis in patient-program. The staff was amazing especially my case manager Katie. Katie is extremely thoughtful and caring with her clients. She provided me with real-time advice that helped me understand my addiction and life ahead. Katie has helped me realize that life can lived being sober. I m grateful for Katie s guidance and support through my entire time at the facility. If you are struggling with addiction I highly recommend this facility, and if you have Katie as a case manager you are lucky!

This program has not only changed but saved my life. I appreciate and thank the entire staff for everything they did to help me. I know it wasn t easy, and I was ready to leave early on multiple occasions but thanks to the staff pushing me to stop being stubborn, to get out of my comfort zone, and to give change a chance, I am happy to say I completed the program and am off to a sober living environment. Huge thanks to James for being my case manager, and for Katie who was no BS and no sugar coating, she was a true inspiration. Sharita, my therapist, helped me process my trauma and learn to combat my depression. I am truly a different person than I was when I walked in here 30+ days ago. Thank you all
