About EPIC Recovery Center

Epic Recovery Center is a premier drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility in Saint Augustine, Florida. They offer highly personalized care through evidence supported therapies to teens and young adults. They boast luxury amenities in a quiet, private setting.

Their team is made up of medical professionals from various disciplines that work together to provide comprehensive treatment. In depth assessments allow for more accurate, highly customizable treatment plans.

Clients entering a treatment program who exhibit severe symptoms must undergo detoxification first to reduce the chance of relapse. Detox takes place at the center under the care of medical staff, who help clients cope with difficult withdrawal symptoms. Upon completion of detox, which generally takes five to seven days but may take more depending on need, clients transition into another level of care.

The inpatient program, which is strictly for adults, has clients living at the facility during treatment. They receive care and monitoring 24 hours daily in a safe and secure environment. Inpatient care is usually the next step following successful detox.

Clients work with their care team to create a unique care plan customized to their needs. Treatment follows a schedule of leisure time and therapy, focusing on behavioral education in individual and group settings. Inpatient care teaches clients the coping skills necessary to maintain sobriety once they return to their daily lives.

When clients seek treatment from a place of stability and aren’t experiencing severe symptoms, outpatient treatment is preferred. Clients come to the facility to receive treatment on a regular schedule but continue living at home, attending school, and going to work. Outpatient care happens on a flexible schedule to accommodate daily living.

Outpatient treatment options are available to teens and adults.

Ongoing care post treatment can significantly reduce the chance of relapse, and that’s where aftercare comes in. Before exiting a treatment program, a client will meet with their care team to establish a detailed plan for moving forward. This includes securing work, finding a stable place to live, and connecting with local resources like support groups for continued support.

Accepted Insurance

EPIC Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
hearing-impaired-program thumbnail image
Hearing Impaired Program
A sensory disability, such as hearing impairment, can compound the challenges of addiction recovery. Drug rehabs that are specially designed to accommodate the needs of persons with hearing impairments will include special accessibility features and accommodations to make treatment as comfortable and effective as possible. This may include access to American Sign Language interpreters.
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Dialectical behavior therapy in Florida consists of individual therapy and group instruction. This structured program is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the development of skills for managing emotions and relationships.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

I am beyond devastated by my experience. Today I was denied 30 day residential. I met every expectation. I participated, I was patient, grateful obedient and helpful. I met every requirement. I just don't understand why or how they could be so heartless with a person so willing to get well. They are the only facility available to me and they just threw me away like trash. They closed once due to neglect and are headed there again. Prayers to those who fall victim to favoritzm or discrimination.

Place is ran by travel nurses who are there to just get a paycheck. Only two nurses which was Perot and Jennifer had some compassion and who were genuinely there to help people who wanted to make a change in their lives. I received more help in in prison then I did at this place. If your an alcoholic they will make a very comfortable environment. If your going there for opiate addiction I'd advise you to seek help elsewhere

Extremely poor experience. Kids are forced into this center by department of education. The counselor my child was assigned to, KH, lies about her credentials and is not an actual therapist that she claims she is. EPIC seems to support her in this. The staff is unprofessional, scheduling is a nightmare. If you have a choice, look elsewhere.

I have not been with epic long enough to give a review for the treatment center as a whole, but I knew I needed to come here to give 5 stars specifically for the therapist Rob (the former police officer). I know that I knew that I needed to write this review for others who might be considering reaching out "one last time" to really feel seen and heard. He was the most professional, non judgmental medical personnel I have ever met in my life.( And I've worked in the medical field for years.) Rob gave me hope today. That people like him exist and that there is a future reaching out to medical personnel in the field.. Rob never interrupted me one time! He never made me feel like I was wasting his time, that I was repeating myself or reiterating anything that he had already understood or that he wanted to move on to the next thing. He walked me to my car and continued to let me talk (which I didn't even know that I needed to continue talking) and he was very patient when I tried to stop myself, because I know that most people who have reached out to doctors have felt this way, like you were annoying them or bothering them or taking up precious time when they could be helping someone else. He also didn't let me cut myself off either, which anyone who's been in that situation or felt that feeling, knows what a big deal that is. Rob was the most patient understanding non judgmental ear and I just want to reiterate that & leave this review for those of you who feel unseen and unheard and a little bit hopeless with the medical community as whole. If you're worried that you will be dismissed because you are fat, or you will be dismissed because your gender, or you will be dismissed because you're "hysterical" because you're crying because you're loud because you're crying because you're loud because you've repeated yourself, or dismissed because you have the wrong kind of insurance, whatever reason that you have been dismissed in the past (and I know that you have if you're reading this because it happens all too often in today's medical field) I want to let you know that Rob will not dismiss you. He will probably hear you out, he will take your concern seriously your thoughts seriously, and he won't rush you or make you feel judged. And that makes just Rob a diamond in the rough and worth leaving this review for. Even if we never see Rob again in this journey that we are taking for mental health, I have hope. I know this will help someone just to know that there are Robs out there... And I want to let this specific Rob know that he's made a difference.

Epic is an emazing place for recovery and detox. If your debating? Stop and just do it! You won t regret it. Don t stop at detox but also consider residential. You will be taught recovery tools on how to deal with the addiction that you are battling. Melanie is by far the best conselor I ve ever met! She s kind and compassionate and you can tell shes genuine and loves her work. We all can t say enough about her! It was such a privilege and a blessing. I am forever in debt for this life changing opportunity.
