This place was a nightmare. Granted I went in 2014 but I still have almost PTSD like memories of living in the sober house associated with this place, the maltreatment, abuse, house manager cursing me out and trying to fight me daily, sleeping on the floor with rain flooding through the ceiling, Dr.Zysmans rude smug attitude. That was the first one of his houses I was at, the second one was nicer conditions but they kept all the patients as prisoners on 24 hour lockdown, unable to leave at all for anything other then group. There were people there who hadn t left to go to the store on their own in over a year, no job no friends just prisoners of Dr.Zyzman, this is cruel and unusual punishment. They essentially held me hostage in this situation by getting me addicted to suboxone and taking my social security checks so that if I moved out I d have no one to supply my medication and it would be difficult to get my checks back. Just an awful terrible experience that I try to block out of my memory. Also I saw on my lab results that they were testing me for Tylenol and Benadryl ect so they definitely had some scam going on with the lab getting kickback doing unnecessary tests.Really really disappointing to see this place is still open. Shows how much healthcare and government have failed us. Even after his 800k fraud arrest and tons of reports of abuse to the state they won t shut him down. I was certain this place was gone. Was shocked to just find it on Google maps now.

Accepted Insurance

Employee Assistance Resource Services – Outpatient works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

teen-program thumbnail image
Teen Program
Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
program-for-men thumbnail image
Program For Men
Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.
program-for-women thumbnail image
Program For Women
Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

This place has saved my life. They treat their clients like family. 8 years later im still doing well and still attend. They help me with various life issues that go on. I cannot say enough good things and I recommend EARS to everyone and anyone who needs.Lost my brother and father within the time of being a patient there and they helped me through all of it.They helped my partner and I when we needed counseling one time.I truly am grateful to them for not only saving my life, but for helping me find a better quality of life!

This place is the best place to go for help. The staff here are incredible and very personable and efficient. Dr. Neumann is the best doctor I have ever known in my entire life. She really cares about her patients and does everything she can to help them. The office staff are always nice and welcoming. I've been going there over 3 years now, and I've never had a bad experience. They're not like other facilities that put you on medication and then try to wean you off it straight away. They don't want you to relapse. As long as you stay clean and only take the medications you're supposed to, and complete the program accordingly, you will never have a problem. Those that write negative reviews are likely the ones that didn't want to stay clean and sober, or do the counseling and toxicology tests. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone suffering from addiction. They are very accommodating.

These people are in the biz of saving lives. I might not always agree with the how but I need them more than they need me.

It is uneasy comprehending the negative reviews. I regret people's unhappy experiences with EARS, which are not mines. For me, the services and assistance given me have been the opposite of the nightmares some clients griped. I also been treated respectfully and not as a number to total up profits.Even if the treatment is terrible at any place, it is a course of wisdom to express such concerns respectfully and responsibly without exaggerations.

There's a reason they have 1 star. Because they are unprofessional. Dont go to this place. They discharge patients without properly tapering off medication. Reporting them to the state for improper and dangerous medical practices. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!

This is an incredibly evil practice. Its obvious that Dr. Zysman is only interested in new patients for their money, and the ego boost he receives from his ability to manipulate people. Thankfully, I saw this immediately, and found another provider.Without going into personal details, he falsely diagnosed me within 10 mins. It's not possible to diagnose anyone that quickly. He acted like a salesman more than a doctor. The practices at EARS are predatorial. It's sad. People come here for help, and some with mental diseases have a hard time distinguishing reality from imagination; they are easy targets for manipulation.Shame on you Mr. Zysman!

This is the most horrific institution in existence. They don t care about helping you besides putting money in their pockets. Dr.Zysman was convicted with insurance fraud of over $800k. Zero credibility and absolutely zero respect. This deserves 0 stars. It s quite incredulous to see this enterprise still running with the myriad of fraudulent activities.

This place is a scam i was in treatment here they forced me to drive the group van when my licence was suspended that would be easy to prove since there was a fender bender in a police report to Paper Trail it 2 when i wanted to stop driving to focus on my treatment they threatened to kick me out and 3 they took your food stamps and if you didn't they threw you out stuff i can prove and just might go out of my way too all the Zysmans care about is $$$$ they don't give a damn about there patients
